We have back-to-back news on Oppo’s wide-screen smartphone. After a leak yesterday revealed that Oppo will be the first Android brand to launch a wide (non-foldable) phone, a new leak talks about the screen specifics.
According to the leak, the device will have a 16:9 display with bezels of about 1mm on all four sides, and a screen 81mm wide. The tipster later added that the body may come out slightly wider after assembly, but it should stay within 85mm. The tip says the bezels are even on every side, give or take a little, so a standard 16:9 video fills the panel edge to edge.

How big could the screen be?
Because 81mm is the width of the screen itself, the bezels don’t affect the screen maths. At 16:9 in portrait, an 81mm-wide panel is 144mm tall. The diagonal then comes to about 165mm, which is 6.5 inches. With 1mm bezels on each side, the body would be about 83mm wide, which fits under the 85mm ceiling.
| Bezel per side | Panel size (mm) | Diagonal | Body width |
| 1.0mm | 81.0 × 144.0 | 6.50 in | 83mm |
Huawei’s Pura X View, a wide-screen slab that already sells in China, is the closest comparison right now. It has a 6.39-inch screen on a body that measures 87mm wide, with a ratio near 5:3 and bezels at 1.05mm.
The Oppo phone is roughly 2 to 4mm narrower, and its 16:9 panel is taller relative to its width than the Pura X View’s. It would still be wider than the 20:9 screens on most phones today, so you would get a squarer display than usual. The screen area would sit around 117 cm², compared with roughly 115 cm² on the Huawei.
What comes next
Oppo hasn’t confirmed anything. The device is said to launch alongside Find N7, which itself has been tipped for a Q1 2027 launch.
The screen details have also changed since the first tips. Earlier leaks tied Oppo’s wide-screen phone to the Oppo Reno X, with a 6.3 to 6.4-inch flat display at roughly 16:10. If it is the same phone, the new numbers suggest a slightly larger, taller screen. Also, treat the 6.5-inch figure as an estimate until a spec sheet or a photo shows up.
