Lenovo has launched a new affordable portable Wi-Fi hotspot in China. The device, called the Lenovo Portable Wi-Fi 6+ (model L016), is now listed on JD.com for just 59 yuan ($9).

Lenovo Portable Wi-Fi 6+ Specifications
The hardware is designed for basic portability. It measures 105.1 x 70.1 x 14.1mm and weighs 90 grams. Lenovo offers the device in standard black and white finishes. The plastic casing includes a lanyard hole for attaching it to a bag or wrist, alongside a USB-C port on the side for power.

Internally, the hotspot uses an ASR communication chipset and supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. Lenovo lists the theoretical maximum transmission speed at 287Mbps.
As with all cellular hotspots, actual speeds will depend entirely on local network conditions, environmental factors, and the hardware you are connecting to it. The L016 can support up to 10 simultaneous connections, making it capable of handling a standard mix of phones, tablets, and laptops without requiring a fixed broadband line.

In terms of battery life, the device packs a 3,000mAh battery that Lenovo claims can deliver up to 12 hours of standby time. It also features an intelligent power management chip that monitors temperature and usage conditions to optimize power consumption and improve battery efficiency.
The hotspot features a USB-C charging port and supports charging while in use, allowing users to stay connected even when the device is plugged into a wall charger or power bank. Lenovo also claims the battery meets safety requirements for carrying on airplanes and high-speed trains.

The device also comes with 1,500GB of complimentary trial data. However, its connectivity is limited to supported regions within mainland China, and it cannot be used overseas.
In related news, Lenovo has recently launched the ThinkBook 14x with a 990g aluminum body and Intel Lunar Lake processors, alongside the Lecoo N27 Pro AIO featuring a 2.5K 100Hz display, Intel Core i5-13420H processor, and 16GB RAM.
