Redmi has launched a refreshed version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro in China; however, there’s not much new to write about. The phone comes in new colors and a different set of memory configurations, while everything else remains unchanged from the model that arrived in July, so there are no upgrades to the processor, battery, or cameras.
New colors and memory options
The refreshed Redmi Note 17 Pro comes in Sand Orange, Energetic Green, and Black. The first two are new additions, while Black carries over from the original model. The standard version also came in White, Sky Blue, and Nebula Purple, but those colors are no longer available in the refreshed lineup.
Redmi has also changed the available memory configurations. The new version comes in 6GB+256GB, 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB options. By comparison, the original model offered 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 8GB+512GB, and 12GB+256GB configurations. The refreshed lineup drops the two higher-end options while adding a 6GB RAM variant with 256GB of storage.

Prices start at 1,599 yuan (about $239) for both the 6GB+256GB and 8GB+128GB models. Buyers can choose between more RAM and more storage without paying extra. The 8GB+256GB version costs 1,699 yuan (about $254). For reference, the original 8GB+128GB model also launched at 1,599 yuan.
Same battery, display, and processor
Beyond the color and memory changes, the Redmi Note 17 Pro retains the same hardware. It runs on a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor and packs a 9,000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery with support for 67W wired charging. The rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera.

The display is a 6.83-inch flat OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It can reach a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and supports both 3,840Hz PWM dimming and DC-like dimming. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and carries SGS and CQC five-star drop resistance certifications.
The phone also has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. It has additionally passed TÜV SÜD’s 72-hour waterproof certification.
The global version has a smaller battery
The Redmi Note 17 Pro sold outside China differs in one important area. The global Redmi Note 17 Pro launched in late August with an 8,340mAh battery, compared with the 9,000mAh unit in the Chinese version. Its starting price was $400.
