Samsung might be planning its most aggressive foldable year yet in 2027. According to tipster TheGalox, the company could launch as many as six Galaxy Z devices next year, more than double what it usually puts out.

The rumored lineup includes the Galaxy Z Slide, Galaxy Z TriFold 2, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro, Galaxy Z Fold 9, and Galaxy Z Flip 9. If this pans out, it would give people a much wider range of foldable options than Samsung has offered before.
The tipster also says the whole range is expected to get improvements people have been asking for: better battery life, thinner designs, and lighter bodies.

The most interesting (and unusual) device on the list is the Galaxy Z Slide. Instead of folding open like the Fold or Flip, it’s said to use a sliding mechanism that expands the screen outward. Samsung has shown similar sliding display tech before, including a concept at MWC, but we still don’t have details on the final size or how it would actually work. Earlier reports had suggested a rollable phone might not arrive until closer to 2028, so this one is worth watching.
Having both a Fold 9 Pro and a Fold 9 Ultra alongside the regular Fold 9 would also create clearer tiers within the book-style foldables, with different sizes, features, and price points. The Galaxy Z TriFold 2 is expected to lead the charge as the first device of the year, while the Flip 9 would stick with the familiar clamshell design.
Of course, none of this is confirmed by Samsung. Plans can (and often do) change. Still, the rumor fits with the company’s recent push to expand its foldable range and try out new form factors. We’ll have a clearer picture once more details start emerging.
