Samsung is getting the Galaxy S27 series ready for an early 2027 launch, and the early numbers on its in-house Exynos 2700 are looking pretty interesting. According to a report from a South Korean outlet on October 25, Samsung ran some internal benchmarks that put the new chip up against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 inside a Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.

In Geekbench 6.5 multi-core, the Exynos 2700 scored around 13,000 points while the Qualcomm chip sat closer to 11,000, roughly a 20% lead. In Geekbench 7.0 the gap was still solid at about 15%. When they compared it against the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, the difference jumped even higher: 44% and 36% respectively in the two Geekbench versions.

Graphics looked good too. In peak performance tests with demanding games, the Exynos 2700 came out around 20% ahead of Qualcomm’s top chip. In more everyday heavy 3D titles the lead dropped to about 5%, which is still respectable.

The chip is set to be mass-produced on Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 2 nm process (SF2P), and Samsung is also working on improved heatsink packaging to help with heat and sustained performance. For context, the previous Exynos 2600 already showed up in some Galaxy S26 models and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. If the 2700 can keep delivering competitive results, Samsung might finally be able to use its own silicon more consistently across the S27 series instead of relying so heavily on Qualcomm.

Of course, these are still Samsung’s own internal numbers, not independent third-party tests. Real-world performance, thermals, battery life, and how it holds up under long gaming sessions will tell the real story once actual Galaxy S27 units start circulating.
