The difference between the two models comes down to the color finish and the price. The LA680WEM-7A has a chrome-plated resin case and a silver-tone stainless steel mesh band. It costs $69.95. The LA680WEMG-9A features a gold-tone resin case and a gold ion-plated mesh band, which brings the price to $99.95.

Functionally, these watches carry the standard set of features found in Casio’s basic digital lineup. The LCD screen shows the time, date, and day of the week, and users can toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour formats. There is an amber LED backlight for checking the time in the dark.

The watches also come with a 1/100-second stopwatch that tracks elapsed time, split time, and first- and second-place finishes. They feature a daily alarm, an hourly time signal, basic water resistance, and an auto-calendar set to a 28-day February. Casio rates their timekeeping accuracy at ±30 seconds per month.

Both watches run on a single CR1616 coin-cell battery. According to Casio’s spec sheet, the battery will last for approximately five years before it needs to be replaced.

In related news, Casio has recently launched two classic Vintage watches with stunning gold mesh bands in the US, alongside five CMK100 automatic watches featuring titanium cases and sapphire crystals.
