Lenovo is gearing up to take the veil off its brand new gaming smartphone, dubbed the Lenovo Legion gaming phone. The device will take the crown of the world’s first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s newly unveiled Snapdragon 865+ processor and will launch on July 22. Right ahead of the official launch, Lenovo has posted a new promotional poster for the Lenovo Legion gaming phone on Weibo, which confirms that the device will sport dual X-axis linear motors. As seen in the promotional poster, the Lenovo Legion gaming phone will make room for an industry-first dual X-axis linear motor technology. As per the hardware architect of Lenovo’s Legion arm, Lenovo has managed to implement all haptic calls of the dual X-axis linear motors from the application layer to the hardware layer, and also defined such an API interface.

Coming to the rest of the specifications of the device, the Lenovo Legion phone will feature a 144Hz refresh rate display. The device will feature front-firing dual stereo speakers. Under the hood, the Lenovo Legion gaming phone will feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor, which will be clubbed with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB onboard storage (UFS 3.1). The device will run on the latest Android 10 OS out of the box, which will be customized to ensure a gamer-centric UI (the interface elements will be suitable for landscape usage). The report came up courtesy of an analysis by Sensor Tower. As per Sensor Tower, Zoom has not been the only app that has benefitted (or potentially received harm) from the ongoing circumstances. A number of businesses like health and fitness, and education apps have received an increased percentage of installs, while niches like travel, sports, and navigation have seen a low in terms of installs in Q2, 2020.

As per Sensor Tower, “The spread of COVID-19 made a dramatic impact on the app landscape. Business, Health & Fitness, and Education apps continued to thrive in Q2 2020, while Travel, Navigation, and Sports apps worked to recover from extended periods of low installs. Worldwide app downloads reached an all-time high of 37.8 billion in 2Q20, an increase of 31.7 percent year-over-year. App Store installs grew 22.6 percent to 9.1 billion, while Google Play saw 34.9 percent growth, reaching 28.7 billion. Back in April 2020, Lenovo teased its 90W fast charging smartphone, which is finally on the verge of launch. The Lenovo Legion gaming phone will launch in China on July 22, 2020, and will be the world’s first smartphone to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G processor.

As per a new promotional poster teased by Lenovo on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo, the Lenovo Legion gaming phone will feature a 5,000mAh battery, which is claimed to be fully charged in just 30 minutes owing to the 90W fast charging. The device will make use of a hybrid power flash charging architecture, which the company dubs Twin Turbo charging.

As seen in the poster, the device will have two USB Type-C charging ports, making it easier to charge the device during long gaming sessions, as one can make use of either the bottom port or the side-mounted port.

When the tech was officially teased by Lenovo in April, 90W of fast charging speed could have been the fastest commercially available fast charging technology, but things have changed over the past few months. OPPO has already unveiled its 125W fast charging technology. Realme has followed suit with 125W Ultra-Dart fast charging technology and iQOO has introduced its 120W fast charging technology. That being said, the above-mentioned brands are yet to launch a device that makes use of such fast charging. Lenovo, on the other hand, has a device that will be available in the market in no time. Though not as fast as the charging tech other brands have teased lately, the Lenovo Legion phone will still charge from 0% to 100% in 30 minutes while occupying a 5,000mAh cell.

Moving on to the rest of the specifications of the device, the Lenovo Legion gaming phone will reportedly feature a dual rear camera setup. The device is said to report Android 10, but the UI will allegedly be more inclined towards providing the user with more of a handheld console experience, so the majority of the UI elements on the Lenovo Legion phone are going to be in landscape mode, as per previous reports.
