HTC U12+ (Plus) vs Apple iPhone 8

The iPhone 8 took the mobile phone realm by storm after hitting the store shelves in September, last year. HTC’s hotly-anticipated U12 Plus smartphone, on the other hand, is expected to launch on April 26, 2018. Here’s a brief comparison between the two smartphones.

Although HTC continues to refrain from shedding more light on the U12 Plus’ specs and other details, the much-awaited smartphone has been subject to a slew of rumors and leaks. We still do not have information about the device’s dimensions and weight; however, there’s hearsay that the U12 Plus will be up for grabs in black and red color versions.

Moreover, HTC’s upcoming smartphone is expected to sport a massive 6.0 inches display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels with 18:9 ratio at a pixel density of 537 PPI (pixels per inch). Earlier reports suggest it will come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added protection.

The much sought-after iPhone 8 boasts a sturdy glass and stainless steel body. It has dimensions of 5.45 x 2.65 x 0.29 (inches) and it weighs in at 148 grams (with battery). Moreover, you can choose from a wide range of color versions including silver, gold, jet black, and gray.

On the back, the iPhone 8 sports a 12-megapixel camera with Quad LED dual tone flash and AF and it has a 7-megapixel f/2.2 camera in the front. Aside from that, there’s a fingerprint sensor located in the front.

The HTC U12 Plus is expected to pack a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SDM845, 64-bit processor along with a Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU (graphics processing unit), under the hood. If speculations prove to be true, the U12 Plus will offer 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of expandable storage (Up to 256GB via SIM 2 Slot).

Furthermore, it will have multiple card slots including microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC. The U12 Plus will feature a myriad of sensors such as proximity sensor, accelerometer, light sensor, fingerprint ID (rear mounted), compass, and gyroscope.

The phone will be backed by a robust 4,000 mAh Li-Ion (Lithium Ion) battery which offers up to 429 hours of standby time and an impressive 23.5 hours of talk time. The battery will be non-removable.

The iPhone 8 smartphone is powered by Apple A11 Bionic chip and it comes with Apple three-core graphics processing unit + M11 mo. The coveted smartphone offers 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM and a hearty 64GB/256GB internal memory (without external memory support).

The iPhone 8 smartphone does not come with any sort of card slots. However, it does include various sensors such as fingerprint, accelerometer, barometer, compass, gyroscope, light sensor, and proximity.

The recently released iPhone 8 draws its juice from a 2,500 mAh Li-Poly (Lithium Polymer) battery, which supports Qi wireless charging. This built-in battery offers up to 12 hours of talk time and a staggering 403 hours of standby time.

Despite the lack of an official confirmation, tech gurus believe HTC will put an $890 price sticker on the U12 Plus smartphone. Meanwhile, iPhone lovers can get their hands on the 64GB version of the iPhone 8 by shelling out about $699.
