Lenovo made its long-awaited S5 smartphone available to the public in March 2018, and as expected, the phone became an instant hit in the market. Under Lenovo ownership, Motorola is also gearing up to launch its equally-anticipated Moto E5 Plus smartphone in May this year.

Here’s a brief comparison between the Lenovo S5 and Motorola Moto E5 Plus smartphones on the basis of their design, hardware, and price.

Appearance & Design

The S5 is housed in an aerospace aluminum 6 series metal body, which is further augmented by an IPS, FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) display. It has an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The phone houses a 13-megapixel + 13-megapixel dual-camera setup with dual-LED and AF at the back. You can also find a fingerprint sensor located at the back. Up front, there’s a 16-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

As far as the Lenovo S5’s dimensions are concerned, its length is 6.06 inches, width is 2.89 inches and its height is 0.31 inches. The phone weighs in at 155 grams with battery and is currently up for grabs in red and black color versions.

The Moto E5 Plus sports an eye-catching IPS, LCD, HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) display, coupled with an equally appealing metal and plastic body design. It has an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The Motorola-branded smartphone features a 12-megapixel camera with LED and AF on the back. Moreover, it comes with an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The phone’s dimensions are 161.9 mm x 75.3 mm x 9.35 mm (LxWxH) and it weighs in at 200 grams (with battery). You can choose from 4 color options including gold, gray, blue, and black.

Hardware & Performance

The Lenovo S5 smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 MSM8953, 64-bit processor and it uses a Qualcomm Adreno 506 650MHz GPU, under the hood. The device comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB ROM that can further be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

It features a dual hybrid SIM (Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM/microSD) slot with dual standby. The device is backed by a built-in 3,000 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery which offers up to 290 hours of standby time and up to 9 hours of talk time.

The S5 comes with 3 card slots including microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC. The phone is crammed with all sorts of sensors such as a proximity sensor, accelerometer, compass, ambient light, fingerprint scanner, and gyroscope.

The Motorola Moto E5 Plus smartphone, on the other hand, packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, MSM8917 processor along with a Qualcomm Adreno 308 GPU, under the hood. The device offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage that can be expanded up to 128GB.

The Moto E5 Plus smartphone features a single SIM (Nano-SIM) slot. The device draws its juices from a non-removable 5,000 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery capable of delivering a standby time of up to 440 hours and a talk time of about 36 hours.

The phone has microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC card slots. On top of that, it comes with a slew of useful sensors including a proximity sensor, light, accelerometer, fingerprint sensor, and gyroscope.

Price

The Lenovo S5 Android 4G smartphone will set you back about $190. While nothing is set in stone yet, the Motorola Moto E5 Plus smartphone is expected to come bearing a price tag of about $234.
