Meitu M8s vs Archos Saphir 50X

The Meitu M8s smartphone was made available to the public back in October, last year. French multinational electronics company, Archos is gearing up to launch its long-rumored Saphir 50X smartphone in May 2018.

Let us take a look at a comparison between the two smartphones. We’ll compare the Meitu M8s and the Saphir 50X smartphones on the basis of their design, hardware, and price.

Appearance & Design

More and more handset makers have been focusing on the cosmetic appearance of their mobile devices in a bid to grab the attention of gadget buffs. Lining with this, the M8s sports an eye-catching metal and glass body design, which is coupled with an on-cell AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

On the rear side, the M8s smartphone houses a 21-megapixel camera with dual-LED and AF. The phone sports a 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel SONY IMX362, f/1.8 dual camera setup in the front. There’s also a fingerprint sensor mounted on the front.

The phone’s length is 155.9 mm, width is 71 mm and height is 9.3 mm and it weighs in at 168 grams (with battery). You can choose from 2 color versions including pink and green.

The Saphir 50X smartphone is accommodated in a metal mix body. It sports rounded edges which are enhanced with S-IPS, LCD (1280 x 720 pixels) display carrying an aspect ratio of 16:9.

There’s a 13-megapixel camera with LED and AF placed on the back and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The phone’s dimensions are 5.77 in x 2.99 in x 0.51 in (LxWxH) and it weighs in at 210 grams (with battery). Earlier reports suggest the Saphir 50X will be up for grabs in black color version.

Hardware & Performance

The Meitu M8s smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio X27 (MT6797X), 64-bit processor, and it employs an ARM Mali-T880 MP4, 875MHz, 4-Cores GPU, under the hood. The phone has 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of non-expandable internal memory.

The device is backed by a built-in 3,100 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery which delivers up to 300 hours of standby time and up to 14 hours of talk time. It comes with single nano-SIM card support, but there are no card slots.

As far as sensors are concerned, the M8s smartphone has a proximity sensor, accelerometer, light sensor, compass sensor, distance sensor, and a gyroscope sensor. It also has a fingerprint ID placed in the front.

The Saphir 50X smartphone packs a powerful MediaTek MT6737VWT, 64-bit processor along with an ARM Mali-T720 MP1, 600 MHz graphics processing unit. The device offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage that can further be expanded up to 128GB.

The dual-SIM (nano + nano) smartphone offers dual standby. The phone draws its juices from a robust 4,000 mAh Lithium-ion battery. The non-removable cell will reportedly deliver up to 377 hours of standby time and up to 16.8 hours of talk time.

There’s hearsay that the Saphir 50X smartphone will feature 3 card slots including microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC. Moreover, the phone will have a proximity sensor, accelerometer, and compass sensor.
