Finnish company HMD Global which makes and markets Nokia-branded smartphones and features phones made the long-awaited Nokia 7 available to the public in October, last year. Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to launch its equally anticipated Mi A2 smartphone in April 2018.
Here’s a brief comparison between the two smartphones on the basis of their design, hardware, and price.
Appearance & Design
The Nokia 7 sports an IPS FHD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display which is further enhanced with a 3D curved glass screen and rounded edges. It is housed in a robust 7000 series aerospace grade aluminum metal body and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection.
Aside from a fingerprint scanner, there’s a 16-megapixel camera with dual-LED and AF on the back side. Up front, there’s a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
The phone’s dimensions are 141.2 mm x 71.45 mm x 7.92 mm (LxWxH). You can choose from 2 color options including black and white.
The imminent Mi A2 smartphone is likely to be housed in an aluminum alloy and metal body. It sports a big 5.99-inch LTPS, IPS, FHD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
The phone features a 20-megapixel + 12-megapixel dual camera setup with AF and dual-LED flash on the back along with a rear-mounted fingerprint ID. There’s a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 front shooter for selfies.
As far as the phone’s dimensions are concerned, its length is 6.26 inches, width is 2.97 inches, and height is 0.29 inches. It weighs in at 165 grams (with battery). The phone will be up for grabs in gold and rose gold color versions.
Hardware & Performance
The Nokia 7 smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and it uses a Qualcomm Adreno 508 GPU. It offers 4GB/6GB of RAM along with 64GB of onboard storage which can further be expanded up to 128GB via SIM 2 slot.
The hybrid dual-SIM smartphone is backed by a built-in 3,000 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery. Moreover, it has double memory channels.
The Nokia 7 supports microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC card slots. It has multiple sensors including a proximity sensor, accelerometer, compass, ambient light, gyroscope, fingerprint, and Hall Effect.
If previously surfaced reports are anything to go by, the Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphone will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 MSM8976 Plus, 64-bit processor along with a Qualcomm Adreno 512 GPU, under the hood. It will come with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of expandable memory (up to 128GB using SIM 2 slot).
The Mi A2 smartphone will come with dual hybrid SIM slot (Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM/MicroSD Card) with dual standby. The device will reportedly draw its juices from a 2910mAh Lithium-ion battery.
The phone features 3 card slots including microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC. On top of that, it will be crammed with a slew of useful sensors such as a proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light, compass, gyroscope sensor, fingerprint ID, and IR sensor.
Price
