The Xiaomi Mi A2 smartphone was launched on April 25 this year. The Motorola Moto G6 Play smartphone hit the store shelves two days later on April 25. Let’s check out how the two smartphones are different in terms of design, hardware, and price.
Appearance & Design
The Mi A2 smartphone dons an appealing front glass and metal body design, which is elegantly paired with an LTPS, IPS, FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) display having a screen ratio of 18:9. Along with a fingerprint scanner, the phone houses a 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup with AF and dual-LED flash on the back.
Up front, there’s a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 camera for selfies. The phone measures 6.25 inches in length, 2.97 inches in width and 0.29 inch in height and it weighs in at 166 grams (with battery). You can choose from red, pink, gold, blue and black color options.
The Moto G6 Play smartphone is housed in a robust aluminum alloy and glass body and it features an appealing IPS, LCD, HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. You can find a fingerprint sensor along with a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and AF placed on the back.
Apart from that, the phone has a 5-megapixel front shooter for the selfie addicts. It measures 72.2 mm x 155.4 mm x 9.1 mm (LxWxH) and it weighs in at 180 grams (with battery). The Moto G6 Play is currently up for grabs in lunar gray and midnight blue color versions.

The recently-launched Mi A2 is backed by a non-removable 3010mAh Lithium-ion battery that delivers up to 292 hours of standby time and up to 12.5 hours of talk time. It has microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC card slots and a slew of useful sensors such as a proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light, compass, gyroscope sensor, fingerprint ID (rear mounted), and an IR sensor.
The Motorola Moto G6 Play packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 MSM892 processor along with a Qualcomm Adreno 308 graphics processing unit, under the hood. It has 2GB/3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128GB.
The single SIM (nano-SIM) phone draws its juices from a 4,000mAh Lithium-Polymer battery that delivers up to 315 hours of standby time and up to 36 hours of talk time. It has microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC card slots and various sensors such as an accelerometer, proximity sensor, fingerprint (rear mounted), and light.
