The M7 is the company’s second offering in the EV segment of China. It comes with some decent features including an extended range and a cool design.<img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-469835" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7.webp?x10805" alt="Huawei Aito M7" width="1004" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7.webp 1004w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-300x179.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-768x459.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-696x416.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-703x420.webp 703w" sizes="(max-width: 1004px) 100vw, 1004px" /></p>
<p>The new SUV has an extended range thanks to a similar technology to what is on offer with the Li ONE. It marks yet another competitive EV in the bubbling Chinese market. Huawei and Seres jointly formed the brand and the launch comes on the heels of the release of the M5. The extended range technology combines its battery capacity with a low-displacement engine. The engine thus provides additional mileage for the car when the battery is exhausted.<img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-469834" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-2.webp?x10805" alt="Huawei Aito M7" width="1003" height="545" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-2.webp 1003w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-2-300x163.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-2-768x417.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-2-696x378.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-2-773x420.webp 773w" sizes="(max-width: 1003px) 100vw, 1003px" /></p>
<p>Huawei designed and is driving the marketing of the M7 while Seres manufactures it. The new Huawei-backed SUV was unveiled by Richard Yu, Huawei’s MD and CEO. The Aito M7 comes in three versions starting at around RMB 320k ($47,765). The most expensive model with a longer range is priced at RMB 379,800 ($56,727). The rear-wheel-drive version of the EV has a 1.5T range extender with up to 90W power and a 200kW electric motor. The four-wheel-drive model adds a 130kW front motor for greater traction. The four-wheel-drive model can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds.<img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-469832" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-4.webp?x10805" alt="" width="1008" height="683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-4.webp 1008w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-4-300x203.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-4-768x520.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-4-696x472.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-4-620x420.webp 620w" sizes="(max-width: 1008px) 100vw, 1008px" /></p>
<p>The rear-wheel-drive version’s battery offers a range of 195km compared to the 165km of the four-wheel-drive model. Overall, the rear-wheel model has a range of 1,220km on full fuel and full charge. On the other hand, the four-wheel-drive M7 model delivers an overall range of 1,100km. The smart cockpit of the new SUV runs on Huawei’s HarmonyOS for a great driving experience. Huawei says that users can access their smartphone apps directly from the cockpit’s center screen. Six exterior and four interior color combinations are available for the new Huawei-Seres Aito model. The partnership is barely a year old but continues to blossom.<img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-469833" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-3.webp?x10805" alt="Aito M7" width="1024" height="575" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-3.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-3-300x168.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-3-768x431.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-3-696x391.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/aito-m7-3-748x420.webp 748w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>The first deliveries of the Aito M7 are expected by early August. Reservation is open currently while test drives will start on July 23. There are no indications yet whether the new SUV will be subsequently available in other markets.</p>

It features the same enormous air ventilation grill at the frontal bumper, a sleek and straight roofline, aerodynamic translucent headlights, chrome-colored trims across the body, etc.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-455734 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/AITO-M7_2-1024x684.jpg?x10805" alt="AITO M7" width="1024" height="684" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/AITO-M7_2.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/AITO-M7_2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/AITO-M7_2-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/AITO-M7_2-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/AITO-M7_2-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>

The AITO M7 is revealed to weigh around 2340kg.</p>
<p>Like the M5, the AITO M7 model will continue to be equipped with an extended-range power system consisting of a 1.5T range extender + motor. The rated power/peak power of the electric drive motor is listed to be 72kW/200kW, the maximum net engine power is listed to be 90kW, and the fuel consumption given by China’s MIIT is 1.05L/100km.</p>

<p>The AITO M7 is rumored to debut in 2022 itself however since Huawei started the deliveries of the AITO M5 in March 2022, we can expect the M7 to debut later in the year as to not cannibalize sales of the AITO M5.</p>

Called the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/24/huawei-harmonyos-powered-aito-m5-ev-china-take-on-tesla-model-y/">AITO M5</a>, the EV was seen as a bold business strategy for Huawei to expand its expertise into the automobile industry. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">With decent sales of shipment figures for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/24/huawei-harmonyos-powered-aito-m5-ev-china-take-on-tesla-model-y/">AITO M5</a> EV, it seems that it is in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/">Huawei</a>’s best interest to keep developing electric vehicles in the market. Apparently, Huawei thinks so as well, as a recent listing on China’s MIIT Database(via <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/613/281.htm">IT Home</a>), shows that Huawei has already planned ahead for its next generation of electric vehicles as recently got certified to proceed with the operation.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The listing does not show off the name of the product, but if examined closely, one of the photos contains a blurry wording that seems to resemble “AITO M7” signifying that this listing is the next <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/">Huawei</a> electric vehicle to be launched under the AITO sub-brand. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">From the listing, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/">Huawei</a> AITO M7 EV is detailed to be a mid-large sized 6-seater hybrid electric SUV, slightly larger than its AITO M5 predecessor. Judging from the outside looks, the AITO M7 adopts a similar design as its older sibling, the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/24/huawei-harmonyos-powered-aito-m5-ev-china-take-on-tesla-model-y/"><span style="font-weight: 400">AITO M5</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. It features the same enormous air ventilation grill at the frontal bumper, a sleek and straight roofline, aerodynamic translucent headlights, chrome coloured trims across the body, etc. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The EV is also listed to come in five-spoke and ten-spoke wheel options, with optional upgrades such as chrome greyish translucent tinted windows, or ink-black translucent tinted windows. One minor design change of the AITO M7 though is that it seems to lack the “<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/">Huawei</a> Zhixuan” logo on the EV present on the AITO M5. However, the pictures uploaded to the listing did not show off pictures of the automobile from all angles, but there may be a possibility that Huawei had just decided to relocate the logo elsewhere on the car.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-455022" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Huawei-AITO-M7-windows-wheel.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei-AITO-M7-windows-wheel" width="686" height="789" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Huawei-AITO-M7-windows-wheel.jpg 686w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Huawei-AITO-M7-windows-wheel-261x300.jpg 261w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Huawei-AITO-M7-windows-wheel-365x420.jpg 365w" sizes="(max-width: 686px) 100vw, 686px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In terms of dimensions, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/">Huawei</a> AITO M7 weighs in at 2340kg, and has a length, width and height of 5020×1945×1775mm.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">For the engine powering the AITO M7, the electric hybrid automobile will be utilising a 1.5T range extender + motor combo. The rated power/peak power of the electric drive motor is listed to be 72kW/200kW, the maximum net engine power is listed to be 90kW, and the fuel consumption given by China’s MIIT is 1.05L/100km.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Since the AITO M5 only started delivering in March of 2022, it is expected that the AITO M7 will be announced later in the year so as to not cannibalise sales of the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/24/huawei-harmonyos-powered-aito-m5-ev-china-take-on-tesla-model-y/"><span style="font-weight: 400">AITO M5</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
