The device with the model number and FCC ID: 2AWRO-8768 and its details, though not explicitly seen, indicate a possible Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet. If indeed, that is the case, then the model will be the successor to the released Amazon Fire HD tablet in 2021.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Amazon-Fire-HD10-e1570458967428.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-281125" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Amazon-Fire-HD10-e1570458967428.jpg?x10805" alt="Amazon Fire HD10 (2019)" width="998" height="710" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Amazon-Fire-HD10-e1570458967428.jpg 998w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Amazon-Fire-HD10-e1570458967428-300x213.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Amazon-Fire-HD10-e1570458967428-768x546.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Amazon-Fire-HD10-e1570458967428-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Amazon-Fire-HD10-e1570458967428-696x495.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Amazon-Fire-HD10-e1570458967428-590x420.jpg 590w" sizes="(max-width: 998px) 100vw, 998px" /></a></p>
<p>The Amazon Fire 7 tablet is the oldest model in the Amazon lineup, it had seemed that that was the most likely model to be iterated in the new form, but it seems that may not be the case. Sources familiar with the trajectory of the model with the recent FCC approval say that Amazon allegedly submitted the tablet to FCC with a fake company named Abyssal Plain LLC. But interestingly, the same name was used by Amazon to submit the Fire HD 10 tablet when it went through the FCC paces. The feeler is that the model is just an updated version of the Fire HD 10 and the two model numbers have only a slight difference. Amazon has also never had to use a fake filing name for two different products.</p>
<p>Although we are not yet in a position to know the specs details of the new device, it could bear a strong semblance to the Fire HD 10 in terms of design and functionality, with some tech tweaks to enhance its rating. There are no indications also on the possible release date for the device, but we expect some key announcements from Amazon this year including some other tablets.</p>

The latest report from the <a href="https://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS48826122&amp;utm_medium=rss_feed&amp;utm_source=alert&amp;utm_campaign=rss_syndication" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>International Data Corporation</em></a> (IDC) has revealed that although the fourth quarter of 2021 saw a decline in shipments of tablets by 11.9% when compared to Q4 2020, total shipments grew by 3.2% when accounted for the whole year.</p>
<p>So let&#8217;s take a look at the shipment numbers of top tablet and Chromebook manufacturers to figure out who came out on top in 2021.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-440676" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Top-5-tablet-companies-of-2021.png?x10805" alt="Top 5 tablet companies of 2021" width="953" height="453" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Top-5-tablet-companies-of-2021.png 953w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Top-5-tablet-companies-of-2021-300x143.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Top-5-tablet-companies-of-2021-768x365.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Top-5-tablet-companies-of-2021-696x331.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Top-5-tablet-companies-of-2021-884x420.png 884w" sizes="(max-width: 953px) 100vw, 953px" /></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Apple/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apple</a> remains dominant in the tablet market with its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Apple-ipad/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPad</a> offerings. The Cupertino giant retains the top spot with 57.8 million units shipped in 2021. The brand enjoyed a 34.2% market share and experienced an 8.4% yearly growth. Apple also shipped the most tablets in Q4 2021 at 17.5 million, however, the brand experienced an 8.6% decline in shipments when compared to Q4 of 2020.</p>
<p>In the second spot, we have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Samsung</a> with 30.9 million tablet shipments in 2021. The South Korean giant commanded an 18.3% market share and enjoyed a 3.8% yearly growth in the tablet segment. Samsung shipped 7.3 million tablets in Q4 2021 which was a 21.6% decline compared to Q4 2020.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Lenovo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Lenovo</a> came in third with 17.7 million tablets shipments in 2021, which amounted to a 19.2% yearly growth compared to 2020. The company shipped 4.6 million tablets in the last quarter of 2021 which was 1.6 million sell than the volume shipped by the brand in Q4 of 2020.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Amazon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Amazon</a> shipped 16.1 million <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Amazon-fire-tablet/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Fire Tablets</a> in 2021 giving it the fourth-largest tablet market share at 9.5%. The brand grew 15.1% compared to 2020 and even enjoyed a positive growth of 1.3% in Q4 shippings year-on-year.</p>
<p>On the fifth position, we have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Huawei</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Honor/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Honor</a> who suffered a 32.1% decline in shipments at 9.7 million units shipped in 2021. However, the initial decline in shipping volume somewhat stabilized in Q4 of 2021, with the brand shipping 2.5 million tablets compared to 2.9 million shipments in Q4 2020.</p>
<p>The sharp decrease in the yearly shipping numbers is most likely due to the recent sanctions by the U.S. which prevents the brand from doing business with any American companies like Qualcomm and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/19/tsmc-revenue-2020-rise-despite-losing-huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">even Taiwan&#8217;s TSMC</a>, which is the leading contract manufacturer for chipsets in the world.</p>
<p>Despite the market moving past its peak demand for tablets, senior research analyst Anutoopa Nataraj has stated that the shipments will remain above pre-pandemic levels as virtual learning, remote work, and media consumption remain priorities for users.</p>
