<p>Modern shopping just got a whole lot faster and smoother with the launch of the new <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/amazon-one">Amazon One</a> app. This app eliminates the need for a physical visit to sign up for Amazon One, their palm-recognition payment system. Now users can sign up from anywhere – home, work, or even on the go – using the app available on both <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/ios">iOS</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> devices.</p>

<h3>Faster sign-ups means faster queues in stores, adding to the whole experience</h3>

<p>The Amazon One app streamlines the entire process. Simply log in to your existing <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/amazon">Amazon</a> account, take a photo of your palm using your phone&#8217;s camera, and add a preferred payment method, all within the app itself. This eliminates the need to spend extra time enrolling during checkout at participating stores. Faster sign-ups translate to faster lines, making the shopping experience smoother for both you and the retailer.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/assets.aboutamazon-1024x576.webp?x10805" alt="Amazon Palm Payments" class="wp-image-614750" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/assets.aboutamazon-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/assets.aboutamazon-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/assets.aboutamazon-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/assets.aboutamazon-696x392.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/assets.aboutamazon-1068x601.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/assets.aboutamazon-746x420.webp 746w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/assets.aboutamazon.webp 1320w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Once enrolled, you can use your palm for a variety of purposes at any participating location. This includes payments, entry (where applicable), age verification, and even loyalty program access. Amazon One is currently accepted at over 500 Whole Foods Market stores, select Amazon stores, and over 150 third-party locations like stadiums, airports, and convenience stores.</p>

<p>But how does the app ensure security when using a phone photo for enrollment? Amazon One utilizes advanced AI technology for a secure and accurate system. <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/generative-ai">Generative AI</a> creates synthetic palm images to train machine learning models, while another AI innovation allows the app to match a simple phone camera photo with the near-infrared imagery captured by an Amazon One device in-store. This ensures a secure enrollment process.</p>

<p>Security remains a top priority for Amazon One. Palm images captured through the app are encrypted and uploaded to a secure Amazon One domain. These images cannot be accessed from your phone, and the app utilizes additional safeguards to prevent spoofing.</p>

Amazon One from the e-commerce giant is one such method that lets users pay with their palms in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amazon-go/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Amazon Go</a> stores.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-345440 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/200928164449-amazon-one-palm-payment-super-tease.jpg?x10805" alt="Amazon" width="1100" height="619" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/200928164449-amazon-one-palm-payment-super-tease.jpg 1100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/200928164449-amazon-one-palm-payment-super-tease-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/200928164449-amazon-one-palm-payment-super-tease-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/200928164449-amazon-one-palm-payment-super-tease-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/200928164449-amazon-one-palm-payment-super-tease-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/200928164449-amazon-one-palm-payment-super-tease-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/200928164449-amazon-one-palm-payment-super-tease-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px" /></p>
<p>Amazon is bringing a new biometric device to its Go stores as a form of &#8220;contactless&#8221; payment system. To put it simply, it is a scanning device in which one would insert their credit cards, then proceed to hover their palms over the sensor area on top. This will associate the user&#8217;s biometric palm signature to the card. In other words, once your palm is setup linked with your credit card, one can simply make payments through their palms and not require a credit card again.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/30/vivo-x50e-5g-with-snapdragon-765g-32mp-selfie-camera-48mp-quad-cameras-and-33w-charging-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Vivo X50e 5G with Snapdragon 765G, 32MP selfie camera, 48MP quad cameras, and 33W charging launched</a></strong></h6>
<p>Keep in mind, you are not supposed to press down on the device as is the case with fingerprint scanners or palm scanners that require physical contact with the surface area. Amazon One is aimed at helping reduce points of contact in areas where people frequent, like stores. Thus, the Go stores are taking steps to eliminate any steps that require one to touch an area that might commonly be used by others as well.</p>

<p>According to a <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2020/09/29/amazon-introduces-the-amazon-one-a-way-to-pay-with-your-palm-when-entering-stores/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>TechCrunch</em> </a>report, the system might require people to get used to it at the start, and user education is key here. But the tech giant would likely have employees staff demonstrate the process to new customers at the entry point to its Go stores. This is another indication of how lives have drastically changed during this time of crisis and how technology is a blessing in this regard.</p>
