Caviar, the company known for customizing electronics with precious metals, has announced its new Legends collection. Timed with the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the lineup features customized versions of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and the current flagship Apple iPhone 17 Pro.

Design Details

The designs are centered around football players Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, replacing the standard glass and metal components with enamel and gold.

The Messi edition uses the unreleased Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Caviar replaces the standard back panel with a portrait of Messi, his jersey number 10, and Argentine national symbols.

The design uses cloisonne enamel, a metalworking technique where colored glass is fired inside wire enclosures to incorporate the white and light blue colors of the Argentina national team.

The phone’s frame and the outlines of the artwork are plated in 24-karat gold. This model starts at $13,130 for the 256GB version.

The Ronaldo version is based on the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. It uses the same cloisonne enamel method but features the red and green colors of the Portuguese national team.

The back panel shows Ronaldo’s portrait, the number 7, and the Portuguese coat of arms over a geometric background.

It also includes 24-karat gold plating on the frame and design accents. The base 256GB iPhone 17 Pro model starts at $11,410.

Caviar is producing 19 units of each design. The phones come in custom packaging that includes a gold-plated key and a branded coin.

The company also mentioned a custom iPhone Ultra featuring Erling Haaland, which will be fulfilled after Apple‘s expected hardware event in September.

The announcement coincides with the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup, which is anticipated to be the last tournament appearance for both Messi and Ronaldo.

While the iPhone 17 Pro has been available since last year, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is slated to launch next week on July 22nd, making the Samsung version an early pre-order.

This matches the promotional figures seen during earlier shopping festivals and is expected to remain the lowest official price for some time. However, certain third-party platforms continue to offer even lower subsidized deals during select campaigns.

The two devices were introduced in September with upgraded hardware, a redesigned horizontal camera layout, an integrated aluminum alloy frame and a significantly enhanced thermal solution that pairs a VC chamber with a large internal structure. Both models feature the A19 Pro chipset, a six-core CPU and six-core GPU arrangement, stronger durability through an improved ceramic shield back panel, and three 48-megapixel rear cameras supporting up to 8x optical zoom and 40x digital zoom.

iPhone 17 series selling like hot cakes

Demand for the iPhone 17 family has exceeded expectations, with early sales in China showing exceptional year-over-year growth. Reports tracking the first eleven weeks of availability show that the iPhone 17 Pro Max has already reached 58 percent of the previous generation’s 63-week sales.

The standard iPhone 17 has achieved 56 percent relative to its predecessor, while the iPhone 17 Pro has reached 35 percent. This surge has strengthened Apple’s market presence and helped push its forecasted 2025 global shipments upward, with analysts projecting record figures if the trend continues.

Apple’s iPhone 17 series, set for release in September this year, promises significant changes across its four models: the standard iPhone 17, the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, and the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. The most notable addition is the iPhone 17 Air, which replaces the lackluster Plus model with a sleek and slim design. Unlike previous Plus models, the Air will slot between the base and Pro models in both size and price, starting at around $899.

Fresh aesthetic and ambitious redesign

As per reports, the iPhone 17 series represents Apple’s most ambitious redesign in years, blending cutting-edge technology with a fresh aesthetic. From the ultra-thin Air to the powerhouse Pro Max, the 2025 lineup is expected to feature a new horizontally aligned camera module. In particular, the iPhone 17 Air is said to be the thinnest iPhone ever at around 5.5 to 6mm thick.

ProMotion technology expansion across all models

One of the biggest upgrades across the lineup is the expansion of ProMotion technology to all models, bringing 120Hz refresh rates to non-Pro iPhones for the first time. This is enabled by LTPO OLED displays, which also support always-on functionality, though it’s unclear if this feature will extend beyond the Pro models. Powerful performance with A19 and A19 Pro chips

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 Pro models will feature the A19 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm N3P process for better efficiency and performance. The standard iPhone 17 and Air will use the A19 chip, with RAM configurations ranging from 8GB to 12GB. Thermal management is getting an upgrade too, with vapor chamber cooling expected in the Pro models to prevent overheating during intensive tasks.

Camera upgrades for all models

Camera improvements are another highlight. The Pro Max is rumored to retain the 48-megapixel telephoto lens, joining its already high-resolution wide and ultra-wide cameras, while the Air will pack a single 48-megapixel rear camera due to its slim profile. All models are expected to feature a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, a major upgrade from the current 12-megapixel sensor.
