Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer ASUS has officially released the mid-range Zenfone 5Q in the U.S. The ASUS Zenfone 5Q has been on pre-order in the States for about two weeks now. But the tech giant has cut the red tape to open the sales of the device in the U.S market. The Zenfone 5Q is now available to buy on Abt, B&H, Best Buy, Newegg and Amazon.

The ASUS Zenfone 5Q is basically an affordable model, coming in at just $299. The device isn’t among the notch display gang but it packs a 6-inch FullHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It display adopts the 18:9 aspect ratio, and has Bluelight filter for eye care.

Onboard the Zenfone 5Q, you get a Snapdragon 630 chipset along with Adreno 508 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable up to 2TB if you are ever going to need that. Alternatively, you can avail yourself of the 100GB cloud storage for 1 year through Google Drive which ASUS is offering.

Further, the Zenfone 5Q comes with a dual camera setup on the back as well as the front. On the back side, there’s a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an 80-degree field of view while the secondary camera sensor offers a 120-degrees field of view. The dual front-facing cameras include a 20-megapixel SonyIMX376 main sensor that offers an 85.5-degree field of view and a secondary sensor that offers a 120-degree field of view. The device runs on  ZenUI 5.0 based on Android Oreo operating system. Keeping the lights on is a 3,300mAh battery. The Zenfone 5Q will be available in Midnight Black, Rouge Red, and Moonlight White. Unfortunately, the beautiful Rouge Red variant isn’t available to buy at this moment.

Earlier this year, Taiwan-based Asus had announced three new smartphones in its Zenfone 5 series — Zenfone 5, Zenfone 5Z and Zenfone 5Q. However, at that time, the company has not revealed the availability information of these devices in the US.

No0w, the Asus Zenfone 5Q, which is called Zenfone 5 Lite in other markets, is available for pre-order in the United States. The smartphone is priced at $299 and can be pre-ordered through Amazon. However, it seems that the company won’t start shipping the device until 31st July.

The Asus Zenfone 5Q is the most affordable smartphone from the three phones announced earlier this year. Also, it is the only smartphone out of the three that doesn’t come with a notched display. The Zenfone 5Q features a 6-inch Full-HD+ display with screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, 18:9 aspect ratio, and Bluelight filter for eye care.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, along with Adreno 508 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For further expanding the phone’s storage capacity, there’s a microSD card slot supporting memory card of up to 2TB. Further, Asus is also offering 100GB cloud storage for 1 year through Google Drive.

The listing of the Zenfone 5Q on the Asus US website suggests that the device will be available in three color options — Midnight Black, Rouge Red, and Moonlight White. However, at this time, the smartphone can be pre-ordered in only Midnight Black color variant.

Taiwanese smartphone maker ASUS has launched a new red-coloured variant of the Zenfone 5Q in Taiwan. ASUS Zenfone 5Q was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 alongside the Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5Z. The midrange smartphone was available in Starry Black and Moonlight White and both have since gone on sale. The addition of this new colour option is apparently to rejig sales.

ASUS ZenFone 5Q Red Edition is only different from the black and white variant in its colour but is fitted with a similar software and hardware configuration as both variants. The Zenfone 5 Red Edition will go on sale on May 11, just two days before Mother’s day. The Red edition looks really sexy in pictures and is well suited for female folks. The device comes with a price tag of NT$9990 (~$333) which is nearly the same price with the Black/white variants which have a RRP of NT$9,900 (~$330).

As a reminder, the Zenfone 5Q packs a 6-inch full-screen display with an FHD+ resolution as well as an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and there is 64GB of expandable storage onboard.

Other features of the Zenfone 5Q include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, facial recognition, micro USB, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi and dual-SIM support.
