Earlier this year, Taiwan-based Asus had announced three new smartphones in its Zenfone 5 series — Zenfone 5, Zenfone 5Z and Zenfone 5Q. However, at that time, the company has not revealed the availability information of these devices in the US.

No0w, the Asus Zenfone 5Q, which is called Zenfone 5 Lite in other markets, is available for pre-order in the United States. The smartphone is priced at $299 and can be pre-ordered through Amazon. However, it seems that the company won’t start shipping the device until 31st July.

Asus Zenfone 5Q

The Asus Zenfone 5Q is the most affordable smartphone from the three phones announced earlier this year. Also, it is the only smartphone out of the three that doesn’t come with a notched display. The Zenfone 5Q features a 6-inch Full-HD+ display with screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, 18:9 aspect ratio, and Bluelight filter for eye care.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, along with Adreno 508 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For further expanding the phone’s storage capacity, there’s a microSD card slot supporting memory card of up to 2TB. Further, Asus is also offering 100GB cloud storage for 1 year through Google Drive.

The smartphone comes with a dual camera setup on the back as well as the front. On the back side, there’s a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an 80-degree field of view while the secondary camera sensor offers a 120-degrees field of view. The dual front-facing cameras include a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 main sensor that offers an 85.5-degree field of view and a secondary sensor that offers a 120-degree field of view.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include Dual SIM, 4G LTE, WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4 & 5 GHz, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, AGPS, GLO, and BDS. It runs on ZenUI 5.0, which is based on Android Oreo operating system. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery, which is rated to provide up to 24 days 4G standby time.

The listing of the Zenfone 5Q on the Asus US website suggests that the device will be available in three color options — Midnight Black, Rouge Red, and Moonlight White. However, at this time, the smartphone can be pre-ordered in only Midnight Black color variant.
