<p>The new bedside night lamp was developed by the academician team of the Chinese Academy of Sciences of Nanchang University. It uses high efficiency yellow LED as its core and red LED to achieve a phosphor-free low color temperature. This technology is thus different from similar products in the market that utilizes a blue light filtering method.</p>

<p>In other words, the Mi Zero Blue Light Bedside Night Lamp does not emit any blue light from the source and has achieved true blue light free emission. Furthermore, it will not damage the human eye structure or strain the retina. Even toddlers, who are phototrophic, can directly look at the light source and will not be harmed. With its long wavelength band in the spectrum, it enables emits a soft and warm glow that is comfortable and improves sleep.</p>

<p>The Xiaomi Mi Zero Blue Light Bedside Night Lamp can also be paired with the Mijia smart app and can play select music and can even act as an alarm. <p>It turns out that blue light filter like Night Light — which tint the screen to reduce blue light and help users fall asleep — may not actually help users fall asleep. In fact, tinting your screen may actually be worse. According to a study conducted by the University of Manchester, using night modes to make your display more ‘yellow’ is possibly worse than leaving it in the regular untinted mode.</p>
<p>Previous research had suggested that exposure to blue light, particularly from phone and TV screens, reduced the production of melatonin, the hormone that helps you to sleep. The University of Manchester conducted a study on a group of mice after the research team — led by Dr. Tim Brown — believed the view that this was a false assumption.</p>

<p>Using specially designed lighting to adjust the color temperature without changing the brightness, the team exposed the mice to various colors and observed the effects it had. The university found that colour-sensing cone cells in the eye may be more responsive to yellow light than the response of melanopsin to blue light. In other words, using your phone with a blue light filter may actually be telling your brain it isn’t time for sleep.</p>
<p>Of course, there are a few things to be aware of here. First off, the study was conducted on mice, not people. Second, the university didn’t conduct the study on a microbiological level — instead, the study was observational and it drew conclusions from mice who were exposed to different colours of light at identical brightnesses.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-295902" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/nexus2cee_2016-03-09-13.17.35.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="1600" height="1093" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/nexus2cee_2016-03-09-13.17.35.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/nexus2cee_2016-03-09-13.17.35-300x205.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/nexus2cee_2016-03-09-13.17.35-768x525.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/nexus2cee_2016-03-09-13.17.35-1024x700.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/nexus2cee_2016-03-09-13.17.35-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/nexus2cee_2016-03-09-13.17.35-696x475.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/nexus2cee_2016-03-09-13.17.35-1068x730.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/nexus2cee_2016-03-09-13.17.35-615x420.jpg 615w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>But there may also be merit to the study. If you think about the colour of light as it appears throughout the day, dawn and dusk usually have bluer light than during the day, which has yellower light. It would make sense that our biological clock would respond to colour as described by the researchers.</p>
<p>Regardless of the effect of blue light on your eyes, it is better to keep your smart device away before heading to bed. Excess screen time has other adverse effects, such as obesity, as well. Furthermore, surfing social media sites can impact your brain in such a way that you don’t find sleep soon when you finally squeeze your eyes shut for the day.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-featured-1.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-284901" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-featured-1.png?x44794" alt="Meizu 16T featured" width="498" height="478" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-featured-1.png 498w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-featured-1-300x288.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-featured-1-438x420.png 438w" sizes="(max-width: 498px) 100vw, 498px" /></a></p>
<p>However, to everyone&#8217;s surprise, right after the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/meizu/">Meizu</a> conference, TÜV Rheinland released a statement saying that the phone wasn&#8217;t tested or certified by their organization. Apart from distancing themselves from Meizu 16T, the company further added that it would take relevant legal measures to deal with this issue.</p>
<figure id="attachment_284902" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-284902" style="width: 590px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-is-not-TUV-Rheinland-certified.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-284902" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-is-not-TUV-Rheinland-certified.png?x44794" alt="Meizu 16T is not TUV Rheinland certified" width="590" height="325" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-is-not-TUV-Rheinland-certified.png 590w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-is-not-TUV-Rheinland-certified-300x165.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 590px) 100vw, 590px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-284902" class="wp-caption-text">Meizu 16T is not TUV Rheinland certified: Statement</figcaption></figure>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Did Meizu really lie about TÜV Rheinland certification?</h4>
<p>We haven&#8217;t yet heard from Meizu about this certification issue, but it is being said that the Super AMOLED panel used by the 16T is actually TÜV Rheinland certified. Meizu didn&#8217;t send the phone for independent certification to the organization, which is why they claim Meizu isn&#8217;t allowed market the 16T as TÜV Rheinland certified.</p>
<figure id="attachment_284900" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-284900" style="width: 429px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-marketing-material.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-284900" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-marketing-material.png?x44794" alt="Meizu 16T marketing material" width="429" height="552" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-marketing-material.png 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-marketing-material-233x300.png 233w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Meizu-16T-marketing-material-327x420.png 327w" sizes="(max-width: 429px) 100vw, 429px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-284900" class="wp-caption-text">Meizu 16T&#8217;s marketing material boasts TUV Rheinland certification</figcaption></figure>
<p>Whatever the case, we should see some kind of statement from Meizu clarifying the issue very soon. The company may decide to remove <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tuv-rheinland">TÜV Rheinland&#8217;s</a> logo and certification details from its marketing materials. Or else, it could send the phone to the organization and pay the necessary fees for certifying it.</p>

But today, the company has broken the silence by revealing that it&#8217;s working on a new smartphone called as the<strong> VKWorld T6</strong>. The highlight of this phone is that it filters out the harmful blue light emitted from the display.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78647" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/blue-light-eyes.png?x44794" alt="blue light eyes" width="682" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/blue-light-eyes.png 682w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/blue-light-eyes-300x132.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/blue-light-eyes-600x264.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px" /></p>
<p>If you haven&#8217;t heard of the harmful effects of the blue light emitted by digital devices, here&#8217;s some info. The blue light is dangerous as it not only adversely affects our vision but also our overall health. It&#8217;s harmful because it&#8217;s the highest energy wavelength of visible light. Because of this, it can penetrate our natural filters of our eyes, thereby potentially causing damage in the long run. Other less serious problems caused by blue light are blurriness, tiredness and sometimes even burning sensation in the eye. So, although we may not realize it now, increased blue light exposure is causing us harm.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78646" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-filters-t6.png?x44794" alt="vkworld t6 filters t6" width="645" height="475" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-filters-t6.png 645w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-filters-t6-300x221.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-filters-t6-600x442.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 645px) 100vw, 645px" /></p>
<p>VKWorld explains that its new smartphone, the T6 filters out blue light in two ways &#8212; software and hardware. First of all, in the software department, the T6 screens out blue light by internal signal processing before image formation. Also, it reduces color distortion while maintaining high brightness.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78649" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-01.png?x44794" alt="vkworld t6 01" width="562" height="459" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-01.png 562w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-01-300x245.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px" /></p>
<p>In the hardware department, the company has modified the essential material of LED backlight, namely the phosphorus powder. There are other changes like reducing the peak wavelength of blue light from 444nm to 460nm which reportedly helps filter out 90 percent of the harmful blue rays.</p>
<p>Well, apart from this information, VKWorld also revealed a few specs details of the T6. The phone will come with a large 6-inch display, making it a phablet with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The VKWorld T6 reportedly boasts of a screen to body ratio of 80 percent. Other features include 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage with MicroSD support and an unknown quad-core processor. Looks like a low-end mid-ranger.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78645" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-02.png?x44794" alt="vkworld t6 02" width="541" height="458" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-02.png 541w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-02-300x254.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/vkworld-t6-02-95x80.png 95w" sizes="(max-width: 541px) 100vw, 541px" /></p>
<p>The company will release the T6 in April, but the exact date is unknown at the moment. Stay tuned for more details.</p>
