<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Lately, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OnePlus/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OnePlus</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> has been releasing smartphones with buggy software builds. However, to the company’s credit, it continues to roll out new builds with fixes and optimizations. But unfortunately, due to this move, most OnePlus devices are yet to get the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-11/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Android 11</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> update.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">We thought that would change with the brand opting for ColorOS in China. But that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least for now. Because  OnePlus is currently seeding out ColorOS 11.2 for the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-9/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OnePlus 9</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> and the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-9-pro/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OnePlus 9 Pro</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> with a number of optimizations</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">For starters, the new update adds support for the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-watch/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OnePlus Watch</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. Also, for some reason, ColorOS for OnePlus lacked the popular ‘Assistive Ball’ and ‘Flashback Button’ at launch. Hence, these two features also make their way to the OnePlus 9 series with the new update.</span></p>
<figure id="attachment_381878" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-381878" style="width: 1024px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-381878 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/oneplus-9-series-1024x683.png?x44794" alt="" width="1024" height="683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/oneplus-9-series-1024x683.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/oneplus-9-series-1024x683-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/oneplus-9-series-1024x683-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/oneplus-9-series-1024x683-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/oneplus-9-series-1024x683-630x420.png 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-381878" class="wp-caption-text">OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro</figcaption></figure>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Other than the above-mentioned features, the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ColorOS-11/"><span style="font-weight: 400">ColorOS 11</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.2 update is all about optimizations for ‘All Clear’ button in the notification bar, system power consumption for better battery life, touch experience in some scenarios, noise and color expression of indoor scene with the rear camera, rear camera focus and video stability, ultra-wide-angle delay, camera stability, camera zoom experience, overall camera photo and video experience.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Lately, the update also brings optimizations for health app icon and online game network delays to improve fluency, in addition to fixes for some known issues to improve system stability.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The latest system update for the Chinese variant of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro is being rolled out in batches. This build should be available for all the units, including imported ones in the coming days.</span></p>

<p>OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro will ship with <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/coloros-11.2">ColorOS 11.2</a> based on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-11">Android 11</a> in China. OnePlus calls this the <strong>ColorOS for OnePlus</strong>. That is, it&#8217;s essentially a tweaked UI but also has certain features of HydrogenOS retained. If you aren&#8217;t aware of the ColorOS, it is the Android skin of <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OPPO">OPPO</a> which also happens to be OnePlus&#8217; sister brand.</p>
<p>OnePlus and OPPO have been getting closer with their relationship and a majority of their shares are <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/31/oneplus-ceo-returns-to-oppo-as-senior-vp-and-head-of-product-experience/">already owned</a> by a common OPlus(Oujia Holding Limited). Earlier this year, they merged their R&amp;D department with each other but iterated that uniqueness in software will continue.</p>
<p>Just a few months later, they u-turned and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/22/its-official-the-oneplus-9-series-will-ship-with-coloros-in-china/">officially announced</a> the transition from HydrogenOS to ColorOS in China. Anyway, at the event, OnePlus said that the following devices can be upgraded to the ColorOS 11.2 via update:</p>

<p>That said, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> said that till they receive this, it will continue to keep the <a href="http://www.gizmochina,.com/tag/hydrogenos">HydrogenOS</a> updated. However, it hasn&#8217;t specified a specific rollout timeline yet so we will have to wait for the official word.</p>
<p>OnePlus recently released a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/22/oneplus-8-coloros-beta-available/">flashable ColorOS beta build</a> for the OnePlus 8 users so I guess it might get the stable update sooner than others.</p>
