The phone has a modern design and specs that put it in the mid-range category but it’s running an older version of Android that may be a deal breaker for a lot of people.

The Coolpad 1873-A0 has a large 6.28-inch screen with a 2246 x 1080 resolution. The resolution means it has a notch at the upper part of the display just like a lot of phones released this year.

[envira-gallery id=”226798″]

It is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core processor which is probably an old chipset from MediaTek or Qualcomm. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of expandable storage.

The Coolpad 1873-A0 has dual rear cameras but TENAA only mentions one and it is a 16MP sensor. Besides the vertically arranged sensors, there is also a fingerprint scanner. A 13MP camera sits in front for selfies.

Coolpad has also included a 3900mAh battery to go along with the large display. What is sad is that the phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat which is old for a phone that may be launching at the end of 2018 or the beginning of 2019.

When it launches, the Coolpad 1873-A0 will come in gray and red, weigh 176 grams and measure 155.7 x 74.8 x 8.4 millimeters.
