Apparently, the company’s batteries will be shipped in Samsung Galaxy A and Galaxy M series of smartphones.

According to TheElec, the South Korean tech giant’s Galaxy A series of budget and Galaxy M series of mid range handsets will be powered by LG battery packs. Notably, this isn’t the first time the brand has used components from its former South Korean rival, with its high end Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series models also featuring LG made batteries. Now, it appears that LG is planning on growing its cooperation with Samsung by also making batteries for the more affordable smartphones lineups as well.

As per the report, the new batteries will be produced at LG Energy Solution’s Nanjing plant and will be transported to ITM Semiconductor’s local plant in Vietnam. After this, the batteries will be packaged and delivered to a Samsung smartphone factory. The report further added that an industry official had stated that ITM Semiconductor likely offered its services at an aggressive price. In other words, Samsung did not intentionally seek out LG Energy Solution to supply batteries for the future Galaxy A and Galaxy M series of smartphones.

Apparently, a number of users of certain Galaxy A and Galaxy M series of handsets have claimed that these smartphones suffer from a peculiar issue that causes their devices to freeze up and restart automatically. According to SamMobile, owners of the Galaxy M30s, Galaxy M31, Galaxy M31s, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A50s, and Galaxy A51 smartphones in India have recently come forward about suffering from this issue.

As per the Galaxy A and M users, their handsets tend to freeze up and hang often. Furthermore, the devices are also plagued by frequent auto restarts as well. These issues are a major nuisance to the users who also claimed that their devices have also gotten stuck in a boot loop before and don’t go past the South Korean tech giant’s logo at the startup. Notably, some users that went to Samsung service centers have reportedly been told that they might need to have the motherboards of their smartphones replaced.

Galaxy M51

This would cost them over 100 US Dollars. The Galaxy M and Galaxy A series are usually known for their mid range smartphones, which is quite popular in India. So it is understandable that not many would go through with the motherboard replacement for that hefty price of repairs that could just be an underlying issue not discovered by the company yet. Hopefully, the brand can acknowledge this issue that could be affecting a number of other customers and offers a fix, or at least, a free of cost repair.

The phone, according to a leak, will launch under the Galaxy M series.

The source of the info is Android Police’ Max Weinbach and he revealed in a tweet that an unreleased M series phone for India will launch with Android 11. The phone which has the model number “SM-F127G” will be powered by the Snapdragon 460 Mobile Platform.

Yes, we know the phone’s model number points at it launching under the Galaxy F series but Max’s statement means the device will also launch under the Galaxy M series. The Galaxy F41 is practically the Galaxy M31 with one less camera and this upcoming Galaxy M phone may also only slightly differ from the Galaxy F variant.

Samsung shipping the phone with Android 11 is a big deal since most manufacturers are still shipping phones, including flagships, with Android 10. This phone should also be an alternative to the OnePlus Nord N100 which is also powered by the Snapdragon 460 but runs Android 10 and will get Android 11 as its only OS upgrade.

There is no info on when the phone will be announced but we expect more details to surface in the coming weeks.

The Galaxy M series will take on a double-digit nomenclature, so expect models such as Galaxy M30, M40 and so on. The Galaxy M series will reportedly have LCD displays, though a high-end model with an AMOLED display is also said to be in development. The switch to LCD is to keep the price low.

In other news, information about two models belonging to the upcoming series has surfaced and it also contains details about their storage variants.

The devices have model numbers SM-M205F and SM-M305F and if the rumored naming scheme is indeed correct, they should launch as the Galaxy M20 and the Galaxy M30 respectively.

The SM-M205F will be available in two variants – a 32GB version and a 64GB version; while the SM-M305F will come in 64GB and 128GB variants. The two phones will have dual-SIM support since they will be targeted at Asian, EMEA, and maybe some parts of Europe where this feature is demanded.
