Samsung silently drops software support for these 4 Galaxy phones: check if yours is on the list?

Samsung provides the best software support among Android brands, but even the best support doesn’t last forever. Every month or so, the company quietly clears out a few older models from its update roster — and this time, a total of four mid-range Galaxy phones have been dropped from future support.

This means no security patches or bug fixing, marking the end of the road for these Samsung phones. If your Galaxy device is a few years old, review the list below to find out if yours will continue to receive software updates or if it’s time for a hardware upgrade.

All four Samsung phones were launched in 2021, promising up to two Android updates and four years of security patches. They received Android 13 as their final major upgrade two years back, and now it’s the end of security patches as well.

Choose your next upgrade wisely

If you’re using Galaxy A22, F22, M32, or M42 5G, don’t expect any updates going forward. The phones will, however, continue to function normally; however, they won’t receive patches for any newly discovered vulnerabilities. If your device stores sensitive data, you may want to consider upgrading to a newer model with longer software support. Fortunately, that’s no longer exclusive to flagship devices.

The latest Galaxy S-series models promise a full seven years of Android updates and security patches. That’s the best software support you can get on an Android phone. The mid-range Galaxy phones have also seen a dramatic expansion in software support in recent years, with the latest models promising as many as six major Android updates and six years of security patches. A few years ago, they were only getting two major upgrades and four years of security patches. The newer budget phones also come with a much-improved software update policy.

Samsung Galaxy M, F Series Phones Receive One UI 5.0 Update

Samsung has started rolling out the latest One UI 5.0 update to the Galaxy F and Galaxy M series of smartphones. The company has rolled out the Android 13 OS update with One UI 5.0 on top to as many as six M-series phones.

The company has confirmed through a press release that the One UI 5.0 update is available for Galaxy M53, Galaxy M52 5G, Galaxy M33, Galaxy M32 5G, Galaxy M32 and Galaxy M13 5G smartphones.

The One UI 5.0 adds several new features to enhance the user experience. Users can now upload photos and videos to the lock screen to edit, improve, and personalize it. Users can also combine many widgets into a single widget to free up space on the home screen. The menu options have been redesigned to make it easier to reach the ringtone volume and vibration levels.

Additionally, the upgrade includes up to 16 pre-set color themes based on the wallpaper. Users can quickly and simply remove unwanted people, objects, shadows, and reflections from images with the Object Eraser tool. Old images get sharper thanks to Photo Remaster, which raises the standard of the original picture. Samsung said that only select Galaxy M series devices will support Object Eraser and Photo Remaster.

For multitasking, One UI 5.0 offers pop-up or split-screen modes through the Split Screen View feature. With only a single swipe motion, users can open several windows, as well as from the recent applications list and apps edge.

A fast glance at the status of several smartphone security features, such as apps that have access to the camera, microphone, and location settings, is provided through the new Security and Privacy Dashboard. The dashboard also offers suggestions for improving smartphone security.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy M32 smartphone in the U.K. This handset had debuted first in India last month. Compared to the Indian model, the U.K variant has a smaller battery. The rest of the specs are identical on both models.

The Galaxy M32 has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. For selfies, the M32 has a 20-megapixel front camera. The rear camera system of the device features a 64-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, a 2-megapixel depth assist lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The Helio G80 chipset is present under the hood of the Galaxy M32. The handset comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage. It comes with Android 11 OS, which is overlaid with One UI 3.1. For more storage, it has a microSD card slot.

The Galaxy M32 that debuted in India features a 6,000mAh battery, but the variant heading to the UK has a smaller 5,000mAh battery, which carries support for 25W rapid charging. The India model measures 159.3 x 74 x 9.3mm since it has a bigger battery, whereas the UK has 159.1 x 74 x 8.4mm dimensions.

The Samsung Galaxy M32 is priced at £269 in the U.K. It is available through Amazon and Samsung’s online shop in the country. The device comes in blue, black, and white colors. The white variant is not available in India.

The Galaxy M32 is scheduled to launch on June 21 in India. The mid-range phone will be sold on Amazon and the promotional page has revealed some of its key specs. Now, a new leak has filled in the missing specs and also includes a price range.

We already know that the Galaxy M32 will have a 6.4-inch sAMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution. The screen has a 90Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch that houses the front-facing camera. Samsung has settled for Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 for protection against scratches.

Indian leaker, Yogesh, revealed in a tweet that the phone will have an Helio G85 processor powering it. There will be up to 6GB of RAM available and up to 128GB of eMMC storage.

For its cameras, a 64MP main camera will be paired with an 8MP sensor (ultrawide) and two 2MP sensors. The camera is a downgrade considering its predecessor, the M31, has a 64MP + 8MP + 5MP + 5MP quad-camera setup. It also has a 32MP camera in front which has now been replaced by a 20MP sensor. While the front-facing camera might have better quality, we are pretty certain the 5MP depth and macro cameras of the M31 are better than the 2MP sensors they have been replaced with.

Users will be happy to know that the 6000mAh battery capacity from the Galaxy M31 has been carried over, though it still supports just 15W fast charging. With respect to price, the source says the device will start at under INR 15,000 (~$202). The Galaxy M32 should run Android 11 out of the box.

Recent reports have claimed that Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy M32 mid-range phone in India. The landing page of the phone has is now available on Amazon India. The listing has not only revealed its launch date but also confirmed its design and key specs.

The Galaxy M32 will be launching at 12 PM (local time) on June 21 in India and it will be made available for purchase through Amazon India. The Galaxy M32 can be seen in terms of design featuring a u-shaped notch and a slightly thick chin. The phone’s rear features a textured back with a squarish quad-camera unit and an LED flash.

For security, the power button placed on the device’s right edge doubles up as the fingerprint scanner. Rumors are rife that it will be available in two colors such as black and blue in the country.

A major leak by tipster Ishan Agarwal yesterday revealed the entire specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy M32 handset. The tipster has now claimed that the handset is likely to launch this month. He also said that it may arrive in two color options in the country.

Agarwal recently shared a leaked render which revealed that the Galaxy M32 exists in three colors such as black, white, and blue. However, he now claims that the handset will be available only in black and blue colors.

At present, there is no word on the pricing of the device. The M32 will be replacing the Galaxy M31, which was introduced with a price tag of Rs 14,999 (~$205) last year. Hence, it appears the M32 could be coming with a similar price tag in the country. It is expected to arrive in variants like 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.

Samsung has been working on a new M series smartphone for a while now. The device in question is the Galaxy M32, which recently received FCC certification. Now, a new report has revealed the specifications of the upcoming device.

According to a 91Mobiles report, a well known tipster, Ishan Agarwal, has just shared the specifications of the Galaxy M32 ahead of the device’s official launch. Ishan added that the Galaxy M32 will sport a 6.4 inch Super AMOLED panel, with an FHD+ resolution and an Infinity U display. Furthermore, the handset will apparently measure in at 160 x 74 x 9mm and weigh 196 grams.

Under the hood, the device runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, which is based on a 12nm process. This processor will be paired with a Mali G52 GPU. For memory, the Galaxy M32 will arrive in two configurations, namely 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage or 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot that supports up to 1TB. The device will run on Android 11 OS with the South Korean tech giant’s One UI skin.

Talking about the cameras, the Galaxy M32 will sport a quad camera setup with a 48 megapixel primary camera (F1.8), 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens (F2.2), 5 megapixel macro shooter (F2.2), and a 5 megapixel depth sensor (F2.4). The Galaxy M32 has been spotted with its SM-M325F model number in the database of FCC. The listing shows that the handset will arrive with support for 15W rapid charging. Unfortunately, the listing has no other information on its specifications.

A fresh report by My Smart Price states that the support page of the Galaxy M32 has gone live on Samsung India’s website (via. My Smart Price). This indicates that it may not take too long for the handset to go official in the country.

The Galaxy M32’s support page that has appeared on Samsung India only mentions it with SM-M325F/DS model number and has no information on its specs. At the beginning of this month, the handset was seen in the database of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Bluetooth SIG authority. It also appeared at the DEKRA certification site with a 6,000mAh battery. Last week, it was spotted at the Wi-Fi Alliance certification site and the Geekbench benchmarking platform.

Now the handset has received approval from the Wi-Fi Alliance authority (via). At the same time, GalaxyClub.nl has revealed the key specifications of the smartphone.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy M32 was recently spotted at the Geekbench and DEKRA certification site. Fresh information shared by My Smart Price reveals that the Galaxy M32 has received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), which indicates that it could be launching soon in India. Probably, it may break cover later this month in India.

The Galaxy M32’s BIS certification has not revealed any information on its specs. The model number of the device is SM-M325F/DS. The publication reported that the battery was spotted at the SafetyKorea certification site.

The live image of the phone’s battery reveals has a model number of EB-BM325ABN. It is manufactured by NAVITASYS India private limited in India. The DEKRA certification had revealed that the typical value of M32’s battery is 6,000mAh.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy M32 has surfaced at the Geekbench benchmarking site today. The listing suggests that it could be a lot similar to the Galaxy A32, which was made official a few months back.

The Galaxy M32 has emerged with its SM-M325FV model number on the benchmarking. The MT6769V/CT model number mentioned in the listing suggests that it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset.

The SoC is coupled with 6 GB of RAM and the device is loaded with Android 11 OS. In the single-core and multi-core tests of the benchmarking site, the handset scored 361 and 1254 points, respectively.

Recently, the Galaxy M32’s battery was spotted with a rated capacity of 5,380mAh at the DEKRA certification site. It indicated that the phone is backed by a huge 6,000mAh battery. The device will be arriving as the successor to the Galaxy M31, which also featured a 6,000mAh battery. It is expected that the Galaxy M32 may resemble a lot with the A32 in terms of design and specs.

Samsung Galaxy M32 could be the next M-series phone with 6,000mAh battery

Looks like Samsung has decided to rebadge its own devices and the upcoming Galaxy M42 5G is an example. Now, a new smartphone probably called the Galaxy M32 has appeared on DEKRA certification and it could be a rebadged Galaxy A32.

The new listing on the DEKRA certification agency page shows a battery with model number EB-BM325ABN. The rated capacity of the battery is listed as 5,830mAh which could be marketed as a 6,000mAh battery.

In the past, the model numbers of Samsung devices have had a saying in their marketing names. Going by this, the device carrying this battery could launch as the Galaxy M32. And, it could share a lot of similarities with the Galaxy A32.

Now, you may wonder which of the Galaxy A32 model as there are two versions of the device- 4G and 5G. If you recall, both the 5G and the 4G models have 5,000mAh batteries but the one certified above has typically 1,000mAh more.

So, we cannot say if it’s a 4G or a 5G device just yet but it looks like any other M-series phone with upgraded battery. Considering Samsung is bringing the 5G connectivity with Galaxy M42 5G to India on April 28, the Galaxy M32, which would probably fall below the Galaxy M42, could be a 4G device.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed any of this, so take it with a pinch of salt for now. If the Galaxy M32 turns out to be similar to Galaxy A32, it may have a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED 90Hz display, Helio G80 chipset, 64MP quad-camera setup, 20MP selfie camera, and run Android 11 OS.
