Samsung, the South Korean giant which is also the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, is gearing up to launch new devices in the market, including the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Watch 4 series, and the new Galaxy Buds in August.

Now, a new report suggests that the company might also launch the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite smartphone. Samsung has been trying to make foldable smartphones mainstream and this upcoming ‘Lite’ variant could be a gateway to that goal.

The development, coming through the Korean Herald, claims that the phone could be launched on 11th August at the Samsung Unpacked event. Do note that the launch date suggested has not been officially announced yet.

The report from Korean Herald reveals that Samsung will be launching three foldable smartphones on 11th August — Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite. As the name itself indicates, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite is aimed at mass-market with affordable pricing. There’s also a possibility that the Galaxy Z Flip smartphones could come in two different variants in terms of performance and features.

The launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite is an interesting development given that it was previously reported that the model has been canceled due to the global chip shortage. So, take this new information about the phone’s launch with a pinch of salt. To know for sure what the company has up its sleeves, we will have to wait for the official launch event scheduled to take place next month.
