The Galaxy S23 series doesn’t have significant differences when compared to the latest Galaxy S24 series and they still work smoothly. The Galaxy S23 series has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Samsung promised 4 major updates for these smartphones and they will receive new Android updates until Android 17. The devices will also receive their last major update, Android 17.

The Galaxy S23 series consists of 3 different models: Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra. Yesterday, August 12, 2024, the Galaxy S23 series received the August 2024 security update. This update fixes important security vulnerabilities and improves system optimization. I use the Galaxy S23 Ultra in my daily life and I have the Thailand ROM.

Therefore, the build number of the update for Thailand will be as follows: S918BXXS6CXG9 / S918BOXM6CXFD/S918BXXS6CXG9. There may be some changes in the build number depending on the region. But when you see that the update has the August 2024 security patch, you will know that this is the newly released update.

Galaxy S23 series received the August 2024 security patch, so what’s next? We expect smartphones to receive the One UI 6.1.1 update within 2 weeks. At the same time, we should not forget the One UI 7.0 test, which is expected to start in the near future. Galaxy S23 camera may have a hardware issue that Samsung hasn’t addressed yet

A Reddit user brought attention to an issue with their Galaxy S23, where photos taken in landscape mode exhibit a blurry and smudged spot on the left side, with a similar soft spot appearing on the top when capturing images in portrait mode. This problem affects image quality and renders photos of documents unusable. The issue persists across different types of shots, and software updates have failed to rectify the problem.

Further reports revealed that many other Galaxy S23 and S23+ users are facing the same issue. Users from many different parts of the world express that they have similar problems. One user who sent their device to Samsung’s official service center reported that technicians recognized the problem but were unable to resolve it.

Despite some users having their camera sensors replaced, the problem remains unresolved. Samsung’s service centers lack non-faulty camera sensors for replacement, leaving customers frustrated. The issue appears to be software-related (However, it is not possible to say for sure without the company’s explanation.) and affects both the Galaxy S23 and some Galaxy S22 models, though the Galaxy S23 Ultra remains unaffected.

Samsung is now rolling out the major camera-improving update for the Galaxy S23 series in the US. The update, which was previously released in South Korea, Europe, and India, is now available for carrier-locked and unlocked models of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The update, which comes with firmware version S91xUSQU1AWC8 for carrier-locked units and S91xU1UEU1AWC8 for unlocked models, includes the April 2023 security patch as well as all the camera improvements and fixes that Samsung previously detailed.

One of the major improvements included in the update is the addition of a feature to the gallery that allows users to delete photos being processed immediately after they are taken with the camera. Another improvement is the change in the AF concept, which enables faster photo capture by allowing users to take a photo even if the focus is not fully achieved yet.

The update also improves the clarity and flicker when shooting with the ultrawide lens in indoor low-light conditions after enabling Super Steady on the camera’s video mode. It also fixes issues such as the occasional appearance of a green line on the left side when taking photos in the rear photo mode and the intermittent failure of facial recognition after ending a third-party video call.

Furthermore, the update improves the stabilization of shaky footage when shooting in FHD60 with auto-FPS turned off in the rear video mode. It also improves the linear banding noise that occurs in low light conditions when taking high-resolution photos, optimizes the sharpness overall, and fixes occasional blurring caused by OIS stabilization.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphone series is something on which Samsung has been working. The Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra will be included in the lineup. There have been strong rumours on the internet which tell us that the series will be officially unveiled on February 1st, 2023. This looks legit as every year the flagship lineup by Samsung is launched at the around same timeline. Now, the promotional images of Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra are out now. However, there are no images of the Galaxy S23, the vanilla variant in the series. The images reveal the S23+ device in the pink colour variant and the high-end S23 Ultra in the green colour variant.

Coming down to the design, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has got the same design as its predecessor. There are literally no major changes in the design and look as compared to the previous year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra. As for the Galaxy S23+, the camera bump is now made similar to the top model with different ring cutouts for different camera sensors. The device from the front looks very identical compared to its predecessor. So that was it for the recently leaked promotional images of the Galaxy S23+ and S23 Ultra.
