Samsung recently introduced its latest W series of foldable smartphones in China. But now, it has finally launched these foldable phones, confirming their specs, pricing, and availability. These models are the brand’s exclusive China only foldable models, so here’s everything you need to know about the Samsung W25.

Samsung W25: What makes it special?

To recall, the South Korean tech giant’s new W25 model is quite similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 but with some upgrades. The rear has a 200MP main camera, instead of the 50MP primary sensor on the Z Fold 6. This is paired with a 12MP ultra wide angle lens and a 10MP telephoto shooter. For selfies and video calls, there is a 10MP shooter on the external screen and a 4MP under display camera on the main display. A 4,400mAh battery pack powers the Samsung S25, which supports 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. Other notable features include a side mounted fingerprint scanner, IP48 water and dust resistance, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and Android 14 OS based One UI 6.1.1 custom skin out of the box.

Pricing and Availability

The Samsung W25 was announced in China with a 15,999 yuan starting price tag (roughly 2,229 US Dollars) for its 16GB + 512GB storage configuration. Meanwhile, the 16GB + 1TB variant costs 17,999 Yuan or about 2,508 US Dollars. It is currently available for pre-orders starting today, with first sales set to kick off in China on November 15.

The book-style foldable retains the classic book-style foldable design, ideal for productivity and entertainment. It features a 8-inch main screen and a 6.5-inch external screen (similar to the Z Fold Special Edition), allowing for multitasking and a tablet-like experience when opened. It measures 4.9mm while opened and 10.6mm while closed, weighs 255g.

Like its clamshell counterpart, the W25 emphasizes elegance with its ceramic black and gold design, ensuring a premium in-hand feel. One of the highlights of this phone is its ultra-high resolution 200MP main camera.

Both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite (‘For Galaxy’ variant), which delivers impressive performance improvements over its predecessor. Based on the renders, these models feature the classic black-and-gold accents of the W-series, along with a distinct pattern on the sides instead of the usual smooth finish.

Design details:

The Samsung W25 is a book-style foldable that will reportedly draw from the design of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, a variant of the Z Fold6 that is exclusive to South Korea.

Meanwhile, the W25 Flip will be modeled after the Galaxy Z Flip6. Both devices showcase premium aesthetics with golden highlights along the metal frame and camera bump, consistent with the elegant style seen in Samsung’s W-series.

Samsung W25 and W25 Flip expected specs:

The W25 will borrow heavily from the Z Fold Special Edition, which means it may sport larger displays: a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.0-inch internal screen, compared to the regular Z Fold 6’s 6.3-inch and 7.6-inch displays. The device will feature a powerful 200 MP main camera, replacing the standard 50 MP sensor found on the usual Z Fold 6, but it will not include S Pen support. Samsung is preparing to introduce new foldable smartphones. The Galaxy W25 and W25 Flip have passed the 3C certification and some claims have been made about the smartphones. MySmartPrice said that the Galaxy W25 will be the Chinese version of the Z Fold 6. But things are not as expected.

Many websites published false information about it. Here’s the real thing: the Galaxy W25 will be a rebranded version of the Z Fold 6 Slim or Z Fold 6 Ultra (the name is not certain) with the internal model number Q6A. This model number was revealed with the internal codename Q6A. Q6A belongs to a special foldable device that is expected to be the Z Fold 6 Ultra or Z Fold 6 Slim.

Ross Young said that he has a device with the internal codename Q6A and in addition, Young said that the new device is thinner than the Z Fold 6. That’s why everyone thought the device had the name Z Fold 6 Slim. Anyway, even if it has either the Ultra or Slim name, that’s not really the point.

Everyone on the internet is saying that the Galaxy W25 will be a rebranded version of the Z Fold6. This is completely wrong. The Galaxy W25 will have the same specifications as the Z Fold 6 Slim, not the Z Fold 6. The model number SM-W9025 belongs to the foldable smartphone with the internal codename Q6A.
