Samsung has rolled out the latest update for the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro smartwatches. The new update comes with a Ball watch face to celebrate the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The latest software update for the Watch5 and Watch5 Pro is up to 500MB with its firmware version RgxxXXU1AVK7. It comes with the November 2022 security patch, with stability codes to improve the notification and behavior of both smartwatches. It is not clear what Samsung exactly means about the stability improvements. The update can be downloaded via the Galaxy Wearable app when you choose the Watch settings menu. The update is currently not available for the LTE version of the Galaxy Watch5 Pro. The update for the 4G version of the Galaxy Watch5 Pro is expected to follow soon.

After installation, the new Ball watch face can be located on the Galaxy Wearable app and it features the flags of the 32 participating teams in the World Cup. The Ball watch face takes the shape of a ball with an analog clock on it. The ball can take any of the colors of the participating countries in the 2022 World Cup. Samsung is also introducing a new dial with a ball for the Watch5 Pro via the update. The FIFA World Cup is arguably the largest sports event after the Olympics. It is a gathering of the best football teams in all the continents of the world. This year’s FIFA World Cup is currently held in Qatar till December, unlike previous editions that are held in the summer.

A few days back, a report revealed the chipsets powering Samsung smartphones and tablets that are set to launch in 2022. Now, another such report details the production units and release scheduled of Samsung tablets, laptops, truly wireless earphones, and a smartwatch that are planned to debut next year. Additionally, it confirms the successors of certain popular products.

According to a report by The Elec (via @FrontTron), Samsung Electronics’ wireless division recently shared its business plan for 2022 with around 30 major partners. In the meeting, the tech giant set a target of increasing its production capacity of tablets, laptops, and wearables (TWS, smartwatches) by 6%, 9%, and more than 35% respectively in 2022 as compared to 2021.

Samsung is targeting around 34 million units of Galaxy Tabs, 7.4 million units of Galaxy Books, 19 million units of Galaxy Watches, and 23 million units of Galaxy Buds. Here’s a rough breakdown of numbers provided by the company.

As you can see from above, Samsung has officially revealed the successors of popular devices like Galaxy Buds Pro, Galaxy Buds Live, and Galaxy Watch4, and Galaxy Book Pro series.

Out of all these products, the Galaxy Buds Live is the oldest of all released in Q3 2020. It’s good to know that the company has not discontinued this unique lineup of truly wireless earphones. 

We expect to learn more about the Galaxy Buds Live2 and other upcoming Samsung products before their official announcements via leaks and certifications.
