Garmin Forerunner 965, Forerunner 265 Launched In India

Garmin has launched two new smartwatches in India. They are a part of the brand’s Forerunner series. The latest offerings from the wearables maker are called the Forerunner 965 and Forerunner 265. Both devices pack premium specifications and features. Read on to know what the latest Garmin Forerunner duo offer out of the box.

Garmin Forerunner 965, 265 specifications and features

Both the latest Garmin Forerunner 965 and 265 come with a circular AMOLED display with the screen shielded by Gorilla Glass 3 DX and 4 respectively. The former has a 1.4-inch screen with a 454 x 454-pixel resolution whereas the latter features a smaller 1.3-inch display with a 416 x 416 pixels resolution. Both smartwatches have physical buttons on the sides. The Forerunner 965 also sports a lightweight titanium bezel.

On the health-centric front, the Garmin Forerunner 965 and 265 are equipped with a variable heart-rate monitor, SpO2 sensor, VO2 Max, women’s health tracker, body battery energy monitor, sleep and stress tracker. The wearable devices also pack fitness features like training readiness score, recovery time, load ratio, training effect, and performance condition. Both the Forerunner 965 and 265 are designed for marathon and triathlon enthusiasts with running metrics like cadence, stride length, ground contact time, and more. The devices come with support for multiple sports and workout modes.

The Garmin Forerunner duo are equipped with a built-in GPS for tracking outdoor activities. They also feature incident detection alerts for select activities. The Forerunner 965 and 265 pack 32GB and 8GB onboard storage respectively for downloading songs and a phone-free listening experience. The smartwatches come with convenient features like Garmin Pay, smart notifications, live tracking, etc. The Forerunner 965 is claimed to offer up to 23 days battery life whereas the Forerunner 265 is rated to last up to 13 days on a single charge.

The Garmin Forerunner 965 carries a price tag of Rs 67,490 and is offered in Black and Yellow colors. The Forerunner 265 is priced at Rs 50,490 and comes in Black and Aqua color options. Both wearable devices can be purchased starting today from leading e-commerce platforms and select offline stores across the country.

Garmin MARQ (Gen 2) Luxury Smartwatches Collection Catering To Individual Personas Launched In India

Garmin has unveiled the second generation of its luxury MARQ collection smartwatches. The lineup includes five models that cater to different individual personas. These are called MARQ Athlete, MARQ Adventurer, MARQ Golfer, MARQ Captain, and MARQ Aviator. Each variant is differentiated by the choice of materials and use case. Read on to know more below.

Beginning with the common features, the Garmin MARQ (Gen 2) lineup is equipped with Grade-five titanium that is stronger and harder than stainless steel making it scratch-resistant and lightweight. All models feature a 46mm watch case and a dome sapphire lens along with a vibrant AMOLED display.

In terms of health-related features, the Garmin MARQ (Gen 2) series is equipped with a heart-rate sensor, stress and respiration tracking, advanced sleep insights, and a body battery monitor. There is also a new Jet Lag Adviser that helps users reduce the effects of jet lag while travelling to another country. All smartwatches support multi-band GNSS and multi-frequency GPS along with Garmin SatIQ technology for superior positioning accuracy. The MARQ (Gen 2) smartwatch lineup is claimed to deliver 16 days of battery life and can be topped up via a magnetic charger.

As for the differences, the Garmin MARQ (Gen 2) Athlete has a DLC-coated bezel and features like PacePro, a real-time stamina tracker making it ideal for runners. The Adventurer model features a leather design and a durable FKM-rubbed hybrid strap with cardinal directions and 360-degree markings for adventure enthusiasts. The MARQ Golfer packs a golf course-inspired design with support for over 42,000 courses and features like a virtual caddie, hazard view, wind data, and pinpointer.

The MARQ Captain is meant for those who are at the sea and it comes with a navy ceramic bezel with a regatta timer for racers to keep an eye on the exact start time and maintain pace during the race. This model also supports tracking water activities kayaking, standup paddleboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing and kiteboarding. It also offers the ability to access autopilot. Lastly, the Garmin MARQ Aviator is catered towards pilots. It is equipped with a brushed titanium bracelet and a ceramic 24-hour GMT bezel. The smartwatch has the ability to navigate to a location or waypoint in the worldwide aeronautical database.

The Garmin MARQ (Gen 2) Athlete costs Rs 1,94,990 whereas the Adventurer is priced at Rs 2,15,490. The Golfer, Captain, and Aviator models carry price tags of Rs 2,35,990, Rs 2,25,990, and Rs 2,46,990 respectively. The luxury smartwatches will be available for purchase starting February 25th from the brand’s store, Just in Time stores, Amazon, Tata Luxury, and Synergizer.

Garmin launches its first experience store in Bangalore in India

Garmin has two brand stores across India. They are located in Pune and Delhi NCR. Now, the popular wearables maker has announced the launch of its new experience brand store in the country. This takes the total number of Garmin brand stores in India to 3. The company aims to set up seven more stores in India by the end of 2023.

Commenting on the expansion, Garmin India & Southeast Asia Regional Director Sky Chen said “Indian smart wearable industry is growing rapidly and holds a lot of opportunity in serving the customers. Bengaluru is an important market for us and with this new experiential brand store we want to empower customers and showcase them the performance of global technology from the house of Garmin. With this, we aim to further expand our footprints in India and bring a new experience and range of products for the enthusiasts who search for advanced features and performance in their smart wearable devices.”

The newest experimental brand store is located in Bangalore. The store address is No. 84, Brigade Road, Ashok Nagar and the landmark is opposite to Plan B/Below, Novus immigration services. The store will be open for the entire week from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. The company aims to provide a premium user experience as well as a seamless product experience to customers and fitness enthusiasts.

The Garmin Experience Store is spread across 500 square feet. It will offer the entire product portfolio of the brand across categories like– fitness, outdoor, and wellness including products like the Fenix 7 Series, Instinct 2 Solar series, Forerunner 922/255, the latest Venu SQ2 and many more. The brand experts will also be available at the store to guide the customers with the device’s features and help them in finalizing the most appropriate gadget as per their needs.
