Budget smartphones are becoming far more competitive in 2026, and the HMD Vibe 2 vs Samsung Galaxy M07 comparison proves just how much buyers can now expect under ₹12,000. One phone focuses on delivering a smoother entertainment experience with a massive battery and 120Hz display, while the other leans toward long-term reliability, software support, and overall value. Both devices target users who want solid everyday performance without stretching their budget too far, but their priorities feel completely different once the real-world experience is considered.

Major Features:

Design and Display

Build and Feel

The HMD Vibe 2 and Samsung Galaxy M07 both target budget buyers, but they approach design differently. The HMD Vibe 2 feels more rugged with its thicker frame and larger battery-focused build. It has a simple plastic construction with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a practical layout that suits users who prefer durability over slim styling. The Samsung Galaxy M07, meanwhile, looks cleaner and slightly more modern thanks to its slimmer body and IP54 splash resistance. That added protection gives it a more reliable everyday feel, especially for users who travel frequently or use their phone outdoors often.

Display Quality

HMD offers a 120Hz IPS LCD panel, which immediately feels smoother while scrolling social media or gaming. Animations appear more fluid, and the higher refresh rate adds extra polish despite the HD+ resolution. Samsung counters with a 90Hz PLS LCD panel that delivers decent brightness and balanced colors, though it does not feel as responsive as the Vibe 2. Samsung’s display tuning still feels slightly more refined for casual streaming and general use.

Verdict

The HMD Vibe 2 wins for smoother visuals and a more entertainment-focused display experience, while the Galaxy M07 feels more polished and practical for daily handling.

Specifications Including Battery

Performance

The HMD Vibe 2 is powered by the newer Unisoc T8200 chipset, paired with up to 6GB RAM. Day-to-day performance feels surprisingly solid for the price, especially during multitasking and casual gaming. Apps open quickly, and the 120Hz display helps the phone feel faster than its hardware might suggest. Samsung uses the MediaTek Helio G99, which remains one of the strongest chipsets in the budget segment. It delivers stable gaming performance and dependable thermal management, making it more consistent during longer gaming sessions. Samsung also has a major advantage with six Android upgrades, which adds long-term value rarely seen at this price.

Battery and Charging

The HMD Vibe 2 packs a huge 6000mAh battery that comfortably lasts beyond a full day. Heavy users will appreciate the extra endurance, especially for streaming or gaming. However, its 18W charging feels slow by current standards. The Galaxy M07 uses a smaller 5000mAh battery but supports faster 25W charging, making quick top-ups more convenient during busy days.

Verdict

The HMD Vibe 2 feels stronger for battery-focused users, while the Galaxy M07 delivers a better balance of stable performance, software longevity, and faster charging.

Camera

Main and Secondary Lenses

Both phones feature a 50MP primary camera, but Samsung appears slightly more refined in image processing. The Galaxy M07 captures more balanced colors and better dynamic range in daylight shots. Details remain sharp enough for social media uploads, and Samsung’s tuning helps photos look more natural without appearing overly processed. The HMD Vibe 2 performs reasonably well in bright lighting and can capture decent detail, but color consistency occasionally feels less polished. Its secondary camera setup also feels more basic overall.

Low-light photography is limited on both devices, which is expected at this price range. Still, Samsung manages shadows and highlights slightly better, making nighttime images look cleaner in comparison.

Selfie Camera

Both smartphones include an 8MP selfie camera capable of handling video calls and casual selfies. Samsung again delivers more balanced skin tones and slightly sharper edge detection. The HMD Vibe 2 keeps selfies softer, though some users may prefer that smoother look for social sharing.

Verdict

The Galaxy M07 takes the lead in overall camera consistency and image tuning, while the HMD Vibe 2 remains good enough for casual photography and everyday content creation.

Pricing

The HMD Vibe 2 is priced around ₹11,000 ($130), placing it in the upper budget category. For that price, buyers get a large 6000mAh battery, a 120Hz display, and more RAM options. It clearly focuses on users who want a feature-packed experience without spending too much. The Samsung Galaxy M07 is priced around ₹7,500 ($80), making it significantly cheaper while still offering a capable Helio G99 chipset, IP54 protection, and Samsung’s excellent software support policy.

Is the Price Justified?

The HMD Vibe 2 feels justified for buyers who prioritize battery life and smoother display performance. It offers a more premium experience in a few noticeable areas despite the higher cost. The Galaxy M07, however, stands out as one of the stronger value-for-money options in the entry-level market. Samsung’s long-term software support alone adds surprising value at this price point.

Verdict

The Galaxy M07 delivers stronger overall value for budget-conscious buyers, while the HMD Vibe 2 feels worth paying extra for users who care more about display smoothness and battery endurance.

Conclusion

The HMD Vibe 2 focuses on delivering a big-battery entertainment experience with its 120Hz display and larger power capacity. It feels designed for users who spend long hours gaming, streaming, or scrolling through social apps. The Galaxy M07 takes a more balanced approach by combining stable performance, cleaner software support, IP54 protection, and faster charging at a much lower price. Samsung’s long update commitment also makes the device feel more future-ready than most phones in this segment.

Both phones succeed in different areas, which makes the comparison more interesting than expected. The HMD Vibe 2 feels more exciting on paper, especially for multimedia users, while the Galaxy M07 quietly delivers a smarter long-term package for everyday buyers.

Verdict

Choose the HMD Vibe 2 for battery life, smoother visuals, and a more entertainment-focused experience. Choose the Samsung Galaxy M07 for better overall value, software longevity, balanced cameras, and dependable everyday usability.

HMD appears to be working on a new budget smartphone, and an early leak has now revealed what the device could offer. The alleged HMD Vibe 2 was recently spotted in a post shared by tipster HMD_MEME’S on X.

Based on the leaked information, the Vibe 2 is expected to feature a 6.75″ IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution. The panel is said to support a 90Hz refresh rate, which should make everyday use feel smoother than typical 60Hz displays.

The device is reportedly powered by the Unisoc T7200, a 4G chipset. This is paired with 4GB of RAM. To be honest, this setup won’t be pushing performance boundaries. It can handle basic tasks like social media, video streaming, and web browsing.

Storage options are said to include 128GB and 256GB, along with microSD card expansion, a feature that’s becoming increasingly rare.

Camera hardware also appears to be kept simple. The leak points to a 50MP main rear camera, paired with a secondary 0.8MP sensor that is generally included for the dual-camera design. It may also help with depth sensing for portrait mode. On the front, the phone may ship with either a 2MP or 5MP selfie camera.

Powering the Vibe 2 is a 5000mAh battery, which should comfortably last a full day. Charging speeds are limited to 10W wired charging. Interestingly, the phone is tipped to launch with Android 15, which would give it a software edge over many budget rivals.

To recall, the HMD Vibe launched in June 2024 with the Snapdragon 680 4G processor, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP selfie camera housed in a hole-punch cutout, a 4,000mAh battery, and a slightly smaller display. The phone is currently available on Flipkart for ₹8,999.

Interestingly, the leaked render of the Vibe 2 shows a waterdrop notch, which—if accurate—would represent a downgrade from the hole-punch design. That said, this is offset by a refined rear camera layout that looks noticeably more modern.

There’s no word yet on pricing or launch timing, but if this leak is accurate, the HMD Vibe 2 looks like another practical, no-frills option aimed at budget-conscious buyers.

HMD has officially announced the launch date for a new smartphone model. The company is expanding its smartphone line with the new HMD Vibe 5G, which is set to be an entry level device that will be priced under Rs 10,000. So here’s what we know.

HMD Confirms Vibe 5G Launch Date

In a recent tweet, the company confirmed the launch date for the upcoming HMD Vibe 5G. It will make its official debut later this week, on 11th September 2025. A short video trailer was also shared on X (formerly Twitter), which confirmed its name and showcased its design. Looking at this device, we can see a familiar design, which is quite similar to its predecessor, the HMD Vibe.

To recall, the company announced the HMD Vibe with Snapdragon 680, which only supports 4G networking. So the new model is an upgraded refresh with 5G connectivity. While the brand has yet to confirm key details like the specs, we can assume the processor is getting an upgrade. Apart from this, the video teaser showed the HMD Vibe 5G with a dual camera setup on the rear housed in a rectangular camera module, which confirms its 50MP AI camera setup.

Notably, this module also appears to house an LED flash and two illuminated lines. It is unclear if they are purely for aesthetics or LED lights like Nothing’s Glyph interface. Based on what we know so far, the device is already listed on HMD India’s official website. The last notable detail teased in the video was its pricing. This model will debut for under Rs 10,000, but an actual figure is still at large and will be revealed in two days.

The post HMD Vibe 5G Launching Soon: Affordable 5G Smartphone Under Rs 10,000 appeared first on Gizmochina.

HMD Global is preparing a refresh of its entry-level phones, but the upcoming HMD Vibe2 may raise eyebrows for the wrong reasons. Listings spotted on e-commerce sites and the EPREL database reveal the phone’s specs — and they suggest a downgrade compared to the original HMD Vibe.

Vibe2 specs and changes

The Vibe2 is powered by the Unisoc T606 4G, paired with a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD (90Hz), 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging, and 256GB storage with microSD support. It runs Android 15 and includes a 50MP main camera, two token 0.08MP auxiliary sensors, and a 5MP selfie camera. Unlike its predecessor, which had a punch-hole display, the Vibe2 moves back to a water-drop notch design.

On paper, performance also takes a hit: the Unisoc T606 trails the Snapdragon 680 used in the first Vibe across Geekbench, 3DMark, and AnTuTu benchmarks. Check the benchmark scores below.

Other features reportedly include IP52 splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is expected to sell in Australia for AUD 288 (~$187), with colors in Light Titanium and Dark Grey. The EPREL database also points to three additional models — the HMD Fuse, Pulse2, and Pulse2 Pro.

The Vibe2 may be pitched as an affordable 4G phone, but the cuts in performance and design make it look more like “one step forward, three steps back.” Buyers may find better value in rivals, or even the original Vibe if it’s still available.

The post HMD Vibe2 gets listed, and it looks like a major step back appeared first on Gizmochina.

According to a new leak shared by the account HMD Meme on X, HMD Global is preparing to release the second-generation Vibe phone. The Vibe 2 appears to be an entry-level device but comes with a handful of upgrades over the original model.

HMD Vibe 2 Specifications

It will reportedly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, replacing the Snapdragon 680 on the original Vibe. This will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with an option to expand it up to 512GB via microSD card.

Visually, the Vibe 2 appears to carry forward the design language HMD has been applying across its portfolio. On the front, the phone is said to sport a 6.67-inch OLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and HDR10 support.

The front camera is expected to be a 50MP sensor, which would be a major upgrade over the 5MP shooter found on the original Vibe.

Around back, HMD is expected to include a dual camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and a secondary 2MP sensor, likely for depth or macro photography. Powering all of this will be a 5000mAh battery, with support for 33W wired charging. The phone is also said to run Android 15 out of the box.

Compared to the first-generation Vibe, which shipped with a 6.55-inch 720p LCD, 3GB or 6GB of RAM, and only 10W charging for its 4000mAh battery, the Vibe 2 appears to offer improvements across the board. But it’s still clearly aimed at the lower end of the market, especially in the US, where affordable Android phones are often limited in availability and update support.

There’s no word yet on pricing or exact availability, but with leaks now surfacing, an official announcement may not be far off.
