The project highlights the company&#8217;s ambition to bring professional filmmaking tools and workflows to smartphone users.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="876" height="661" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-94.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-742336" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-94.png 876w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-94-300x226.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-94-768x580.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-94-696x525.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-94-557x420.png 557w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-94-80x60.png 80w" sizes="(max-width: 876px) 100vw, 876px" /></figure></div>

<h4><strong>First Cinematic Video Debuts at SIFF</strong></h4>

<p>As part of a special collaboration with ELLEMEN, HONOR used the Robot Phone to create cinematic video portraits of SIFF jury members. The footage demonstrates how the device can deliver a film-like visual experience with rich tones, smooth color transitions, and a strong sense of atmosphere. The project serves as a showcase of how smartphone cameras are evolving beyond traditional mobile photography into powerful storytelling tools.</p>

<h4><strong>Built-In Gimbal Delivers Cinema-Like Camera Movement</strong></h4>

<p>One of the Robot Phone&#8217;s standout features is its integrated physical gimbal stabilization system. Unlike conventional smartphones that often rely on electronic stabilization and image cropping, the Robot Phone uses mechanical stabilization to produce smooth handheld tracking shots while preserving full image quality. This allows users to achieve professional camera movements without sacrificing detail or field of view.</p>

<h4><strong>Industry&#8217;s Smallest Titanium Alloy Gimbal</strong></h4>

<p>HONOR says the Robot Phone is equipped with the industry&#8217;s smallest titanium alloy gimbal. Designed for precision and stability, the system is powered by high-performance motors that allow dynamic movement beyond the limits of traditional smartphone camera modules. The result is smoother footage, greater flexibility, and improved stability during shooting.</p>

<h4><strong>AI Helps Simplify Professional Video Creation</strong></h4>

<p>The Robot Phone combines its hardware innovations with advanced AI-powered imaging features. Intelligent subject tracking keeps moving subjects in focus while maintaining stable footage. HONOR says these AI capabilities are designed to simplify the filmmaking process, making it easier for creators to produce professional-looking videos without complex equipment setups.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="684" height="507" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-97.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-742339" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-97.png 684w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-97-300x222.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-97-485x360.png 485w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-97-567x420.png 567w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-97-80x60.png 80w" sizes="(max-width: 684px) 100vw, 684px" /></figure></div>

<h4><strong>Bringing ARRI Technology to Smartphones</strong></h4>

<p>The Robot Phone is also the first HONOR device to benefit from the company&#8217;s strategic partnership with ARRI, a leading name in professional cinema cameras. The smartphone incorporates ARRI&#8217;s LogC expertise at the RAW level, giving creators greater flexibility during editing and color grading. It also supports professional workflows through compatibility with ARRI&#8217;s LUT ecosystem in DaVinci Resolve, helping users achieve authentic cinematic color styles.</p>

<h4><strong>HONOR&#8217;s Vision for Mobile Filmmaking</strong></h4>

<p>With the Robot Phone, HONOR aims to blur the line between smartphones and professional filmmaking equipment. By combining AI-powered imaging, advanced stabilization technology, and ARRI-inspired cinema tools, the company hopes to make high-quality visual storytelling more accessible. The SIFF debut provides an early look at how HONOR plans to bring professional filmmaking standards to the next generation of content creators and mobile videographers.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor">Honor</a> has shared fresh details about its upcoming Robot Phone, a device first showcased at <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mwc-2026">MWC 2026</a>. While the smartphone remains unreleased, the company has now explained its vision for the product, revealing how the unusual camera-focused design is intended to make advanced video creation more accessible to everyday users.</p>

<h3><strong>A smartphone designed around video creation</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="574" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Honor-Robot-Phone_-1024x574.png?x44794" alt="Honor Robot Phone" class="wp-image-740842" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Honor-Robot-Phone_-1024x574.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Honor-Robot-Phone_-300x168.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Honor-Robot-Phone_-768x431.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Honor-Robot-Phone_-696x390.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Honor-Robot-Phone_-1068x599.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Honor-Robot-Phone_-749x420.png 749w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Honor-Robot-Phone_.png 1394w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Honor Robot Phone</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to Honor&#8217;s imaging team, the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-robot-phone"> Robot Phone</a> was conceived primarily as a video-first device. Instead of working within the constraints of a conventional smartphone camera module, the company developed a motorised three-axis gimbal camera system that sits on top of the device. This approach is expected to create more room for future hardware upgrades and new shooting techniques.</p>

<p>The camera unit houses a 200-megapixel sensor that can rotate forwards or backwards depending on the shooting scenario. Honor has also partnered with ARRI, a company widely known in the professional filmmaking industry, to bring advanced imaging technologies to the device. Features include AI subject tracking, intelligent shooting assistance, automated camera movements and AI-powered video editing tools.</p>

<p>One of the biggest questions surrounding the Robot Phone has been durability, given its moving camera mechanism. Honor says the first-generation model already delivers drop resistance comparable to its flagship smartphones, although the company admits there is still room to improve water resistance. The brand has stated that durability enhancements will continue across future generations rather than being treated as a one-off experiment.</p>

<p>The company also revealed that development proved more challenging than expected. Engineers reportedly spent around a year refining the concept, creating a custom compact motor, balancing the gimbal system and solving issues related to stability and rotational forces. Several design revisions were required before arriving at the current prototype.</p>

<p>For users with little photography or videography experience, the Robot Phone is expected to offer preset shooting templates and automated tracking capabilities that can capture smoother, more cinematic footage without requiring manual adjustments. Honor CEO James Li has already confirmed that the Robot Phone is scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2026.</p>

<p>The Robot Phone is essentially a high-end smartphone fitted with a motorised camera arm that folds out from the rear panel. The module houses a 200-megapixel main sensor built into what Honor describes as the smallest 4DoF gimbal system in the industry. The arm can mechanically extend, rotate and stabilise footage, offering subject tracking for videos and hands-free shooting. During demonstrations, the camera locked onto moving subjects and followed them smoothly, indicating a focus on creators and vloggers.</p>

<p>Honor has also integrated AI-driven interactions. Users can speak to the assistant, and the camera module can respond with physical gestures such as nodding or shaking, adding a playful robotic element. When not in use, the camera neatly retracts back into the body. While full specifications remain undisclosed, the company has confirmed that the Robot Phone will be commercially available in China in the second half of 2026.</p>

<p>At the same event, Honor teased a compact humanoid robot that performed simple actions on stage, though technical details were limited. The broader message was clear: the brand wants to stand out in a market where many flagship devices look similar, especially as rising memory chip costs are expected to push smartphone prices higher in 2026.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Robot Phone price and availability</strong></h3>

<p>Honor has not revealed pricing for the Robot Phone and has indicated that the initial rollout will be limited to China, and will be available in the second half of the year. Given the complex gimbal mechanism and premium positioning, the device is expected to target the higher end of the market.</p>

<h3>1. Honor Magic V6 and Robot Phone</h3>

<p><strong>Launch date: March 1, 2026</strong></p>

<p><strong>Honor Magic V6</strong></p>

<p>Honor Magic V6 is the company’s next-generation foldable smartphone, focusing on enhanced durability, higher battery capacity, and an even slimmer design profile.</p>

<div><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/honor-Magic-V6-red-images-1-1.png?x44794" class="td-modal-image"><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/honor-Magic-V6-red-images-1-1.png?x44794" alt="honor Magic V6" class="wp-image-728354" width="416" height="407" /><figcaption>honor Magic V6 </figcaption></figure></div></a></div>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor-magic-v6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Magic V6</a> is expected to feature a 200MP primary camera and a 7,150mAh battery with 120W fast charging. The brand claims full-level waterproofing and support for Beidou satellite communication. Recent leaks say the Magic V6 could feature Honor’s self-developed C1+ radio frequency enhancement chip and the E2 energy efficiency enhancement chip.</p>

<p><strong>Honor Robot Phone</strong></p>

<p>Alongside the Magic V6 foldable phone, Honor will also unveil the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor-robot-phone/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor Robot Phone</a> at the MWC event on March 1. The company offered a sneak peek of the device at CES 2026 in January 2026, and we’ll soon have the complete picture.</p>

<div><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone.jpg?x44794" class="td-modal-image"><figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor-Robot-Phone" class="wp-image-711011" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></a></div>

<p>Honor calls it the industry’s first “robot phone,” featuring a hidden robotic-arm gimbal that deploys with a single tap. This allows the phone to physically move for automatic composition, subject tracking, and enhanced stabilization, claimed by the brand.</p>

<p>The Honor Robot Phone integrates a powerful AI system that can see and respond in real time. The company says it can proactively suggest content, coordinate with other devices across its ecosystem, and function as a digital assistant that feels more personal and context-aware.</p>

<h3>3. Apple iPhone 17e</h3>

<p><strong>Launch date: March 4, 2026 (unconfirmed)</strong></p>

<p>Apple is expected to unveil the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-17e/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iPhone 17e</a>, along with a bunch of Other products, at the upcoming event on March 4. The device is expected to feature the A19 chip, the same chip powering the iPhone 17, but could have a downclocked CPU and GPU. It’s also said to bring an upgraded display engine, ISP, and Neural Engine to improve the on-device AI performance.</p>

<p>iPhone 17e could get a MagSafe upgrade, boosting charging speed to at least 15W. Furthermore, we might also see an upgraded Apple’s C1X modem. The iPhone 17e will likely retain the same display, camera, and design as the 16e.</p>

<h3>4. Motorola Edge 70 Fusion</h3>

<p><strong>Launch date: March 2026</strong></p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola-edge-70-fusion/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Edge 70 Fusion</a> is confirmed to launch in March, but the exact date is still under wraps. However, given the number of teasers Motorola has posted recently, we can expect the device to go official in the first half of the month.</p>

<p>Motorola has already teased pretty much everything about the Edge 70 Fusion, except for the pricing. So, we already know that the phone will sport a curved 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 5,200 nits of peak brightness. It will have a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset at its core and a long-lasting 7,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging support.</p>

<p>The Edge 70 Fusion will feature a triple-rear-camera setup, including a 50MP Sony LYT-710 primary sensor, a 13MP ultrawide sensor, and an unspecified macro camera. On the other side, it will have a 32MP selfie snapper.</p>

<h2><strong>Honor Magic V6</strong></h2>

<p>The Honor Magic V6 is the company’s upcoming book-style foldable, which appeared in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/15/honor-magic-v6-design-red-vegan-leather-images/">live images</a> just days ago. It’s expected to feature a thin and lightweight design while being powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship silicon, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a>.</p>

<p>The Magic V6 will reportedly<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/23/honor-magic-v6-images-battery-charging/"> pack a 7,150mAh battery</a> with support for 120W wired fast charging. It could also include Honor’s self-developed C1+ radio frequency enhancement chip and the E2 energy efficiency enhancement chip.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="577" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Honor-Magic-V6-image-577x1024.png?x44794" alt="Honor Magic V6 image" class="wp-image-727903" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Honor-Magic-V6-image-577x1024.png 577w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Honor-Magic-V6-image-169x300.png 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Honor-Magic-V6-image-768x1364.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Honor-Magic-V6-image-865x1536.png 865w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Honor-Magic-V6-image-696x1236.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Honor-Magic-V6-image-1068x1897.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Honor-Magic-V6-image-236x420.png 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Honor-Magic-V6-image.png 1153w" sizes="(max-width: 577px) 100vw, 577px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic V6 image</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>On the camera side, it’s said to feature a 200-megapixel large-sensor main camera alongside a periscope telephoto lens. The company also claims full-level waterproofing and support for Beidou satellite communication. </p>

<h2><strong>Honor Robot Phone</strong></h2>

<p>Alongside the foldable, Honor is planning to unveil the Honor Robot Phone. The company calls it the industry’s first “robot phone,” featuring a<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/19/honor-hints-its-robot-phone-could-challenge-djis-video-dominance/"> hidden robotic arm </a>gimbal that can deploy with a single tap.</p>

<p>According to Honor, this mechanism allows the phone to physically move for automatic composition, subject tracking, and enhanced stabilization.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" /></figure></div>

<p>Honor says the device is powered by a powerful AI system capable of seeing and responding in real time. It’s designed to follow users, capture moments automatically, and even act as a personal camera operator.</p>

<p>The built-in large-scale model, called YOYO, is said to include emotional perception capabilities. According to Honor, it can proactively suggest content, coordinate with other devices across its ecosystem, and function as a digital assistant that feels more personal and context-aware.</p>

<p>We’ll have to wait until March 1 to see how much of this vision translates into real-world use.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-716046" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1068x600.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot.jpg 1423w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Instead of a typical camera bump, this phone hides a folded mechanical arm that pops out when needed. It can move around to frame shots from angles that you’d normally need a tripod — or a pretty awkward wrist bend — to achieve. When you’re done, it retracts cleanly into the device as if nothing ever happened. It’s part camera system, part sci-fi gadget.</p>

<p>Honor is pitching this as the next stage of AI-enhanced hardware. The phone will be powered by a more advanced version of its YOYO AI, which the company claims can understand its surroundings and even sense the user’s emotional state. Whether that means it will tilt the camera to cheer you up or hide itself when you’re in a bad mood — we’ll have to wait and see.</p>

<p>According to well-known leaker SmartPikachu, the Robot Phone is already being prepped for mass production in the first half of 2026, with a likely launch window sometime around August. Honor says more details will come at MWC 2026, so we’re still missing all the usual specs like processor, battery, and price.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="360" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/honor-robot-phone-mass-prouction-h1-2026-1024x360.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-718391" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/honor-robot-phone-mass-prouction-h1-2026-1024x360.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/honor-robot-phone-mass-prouction-h1-2026-300x105.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/honor-robot-phone-mass-prouction-h1-2026-768x270.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/honor-robot-phone-mass-prouction-h1-2026-696x245.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/honor-robot-phone-mass-prouction-h1-2026-1068x376.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/honor-robot-phone-mass-prouction-h1-2026-1194x420.png 1194w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/honor-robot-phone-mass-prouction-h1-2026.png 1493w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Still, in a market where almost every phone feels like a familiar rectangle from the front, Honor is clearly swinging for something big — or at least something different. It might end up being revolutionary… or hilariously overengineered. Either way, it’s easily one of the most bizarre and exciting concepts we’ve seen in a long while.</p>

<p>What if your phone didn’t just digitally follow you, but physically moved its camera to track you, follow the stars, or act like a tiny gimbal? <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/">Honor</a>’s unusual “<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/16/honors-latest-concept-is-a-smartphone-that-moves-on-its-own">Robot Phone</a>” — which sounded almost like a gimmick when it was first teased last month — has now shown up in real photos, and it looks even stranger in person.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-716046" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1068x600.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot.jpg 1423w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The device made its second appearance at the Honor User Carnival in China, where Honor kept a few prototypes in glass cases. They were shown in black, white, and gold, with either a glass back or a faux-leather finish depending on the variant.</p>

<p>The main camera sits on a motorized arm with a built-in gimbal — easily the wildest part of the phone. When the arm is folded down, it behaves like a normal rear camera. Tap a button, though, and the whole module pops up, giving the phone some unusual tricks. You can take selfies using the primary sensor—and you don&#8217;t even have to rotate the phone. It shoots steadier video thanks to the gimbal, or lets the phone track and frame a subject on its own. It can even follow you when the phone is placed on a table or tucked into a shirt pocket, with AI controlling the angle.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="690" height="920" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-716045" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Honor-Robot-Phone-real-life-shot-1-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></figure></div>

<p>One of the standout features is a star-tracking mode meant for long-exposure shots. The robotic arm adjusts itself slowly to keep the lens aligned with the night sky — something no other phone can do today.</p>

<p>I’ll admit, a mechanical arm inside a phone to follow your face or mimic a gimbal sounded like a waste of space at first. But things like the star-tracking mode actually make the whole thing seem a lot more worthwhile.</p>

<p>There’s no guarantee this thing will turn into an actual retail product. For now, it stands out as one of the most bizarre and interesting smartphone experiments we’ve seen in a long time — part camera, part phone, part sci-fi gadget.</p>

<p>At the launch of the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/15/honor-magic-8-series-debut-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-flagships-with-up-to-200mp-telephoto-lens-gigantic-7200mah-battery/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Magic 8 series</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor</a> also revealed something far more interesting. CEO Li Jian took the stage to introduce the Honor Robot Phone. As wild as it sounds, it’s exactly what the name suggests. A phone with robotic mobility. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-711011" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Robot Phone is built on three core technologies: an AI brain, robotic mobility, and professional imaging. Its highlight feature is a hidden robotic arm gimbal that unfolds with a click, allowing the phone to move and stabilize itself like a robot. It can automatically frame shots, track subjects, and even reduce shake without any human input.</p>

<p>What’s surprising is that the phone doesn’t look particularly robotic. There’s no obvious sign that it has a gimbal tucked inside. From the back, it looks like a regular smartphone, though the camera module is noticeably thick.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-Design.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-711012" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-Design.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-Design-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-Design-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-Design-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Robot-Phone-Design-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<h2><strong>Honor Robot Phone is powered by AI</strong></h2>

<p>The company’s large-scale AI model, YOYO, plays a central role in this process. It reportedly understands emotions, recommends content, and manages connected devices. Honor frames this as a part of its so-called “Alpha Project,” which aims to evolve phones from simple tools into what it calls “silicon-based life partners.”</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">What&#39;s the future of intelligent devices?<br><br>While the industry is busy comparing the iPhone, we believe it&#39;s time to break the mold and refocus on what truly matters: creating real value for you.<br><br>Introducing the HONOR ROBOT PHONE — a revolutionary AI device that fuses multi-modal… <a href="https://t.co/NdhudoBpW0">pic.twitter.com/NdhudoBpW0</a></p>&mdash; HONOR (@Honorglobal) <a href="https://twitter.com/Honorglobal/status/1978465402486415440?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 15, 2025</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>If all that sounds ambitious, it is. Honor has been investing heavily in what it calls “embodied intelligence,” with new research labs focused on robotics, motion systems, and bionic design. The Robot Phone appears to be the first tangible result of that work.</p>

<p>For now, the device remains more of a concept than a commercial product. Honor plans to reveal more at MWC Barcelona 2026. A teaser video shows a gimbal camera that moves like a robotic head, reminiscent of commercial gimbals, but built directly into a smartphone.</p>

<p>Honor says users can register on its website to receive early updates and even take part in product research.</p>
