<p>In it, an optical fingerprint sensor will be used in combination with a capacitive sensor (via <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/593/197.htm">IT Home</a>). While the former will be used to acquire a virtual image of the finger, the latter will help grab data on what hand the finger belongs to. These two bits of data will then be fused together to greatly improve the efficiency of terminal fingerprint identification. It isn&#8217;t clear if the &#8216;improved efficiency&#8217; bit mentioned within the patent relates to advancement in security or a speedier scanning process but our guess is it&#8217;s for both.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-431817 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-optical-fingerprint-patent-823x1024.png?x44794" alt="huawei optical fingerprint patent" width="696" height="866" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-optical-fingerprint-patent-823x1024.png 823w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-optical-fingerprint-patent-241x300.png 241w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-optical-fingerprint-patent-768x955.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-optical-fingerprint-patent-696x866.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-optical-fingerprint-patent-1068x1329.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-optical-fingerprint-patent-338x420.png 338w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-optical-fingerprint-patent.png 1385w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>The Huawei patent application further mentions that the new fingerprint tech will be used for the &#8220;field of smart terminals.&#8221; What that stands for is again unclear but it&#8217;s safe to assume that smartphones may also be benefitting from the tech, particularly those with optical under-display fingerprint sensors.</p>
<p>The cool piece of tech currently seems to be limited to the document but it&#8217;s not unsafe to say that Huawei must already be working on developing it. Digging through the document will reveal that the patent was first filed back in June 2020 and it has already been over a year since, after all.</p>
<p>That said, for those unfamiliar with optical fingerprint sensors, the tech is used in under-display fingerprint sensor hardware and works by reflecting light off of your finger. While they are a cheaper alternative to superior ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, they are slower and not as accurate. Hopefully, Huawei&#8217;s patent means that these shortcomings will be eventually addressed.</p>

There are occasions where a power bank becomes useful, while travelling, camping and several other instances. Often times, there are always limitations to the type of gadgets you can fire up using a Power bank but that is gradually changing. The Huawei 12000 40W SuperCharge power bank cannot only charge smartphones, smartwatches, cameras, tablets but also your laptop! The device is said to be the first Power bank that gets the safety certification of Germany&#8217;s TUV Rheinland. <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-242915" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-2-1024x464.png?x44794" alt="Huawei SuperCharge powerbank" width="640" height="290" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-2-1024x464.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-2-300x136.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-2-768x348.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-2.png 1054w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>The 40W power bank delivers super fast charging to supported gadgets. Huawei says the power bank can charge the new P30 Pro up to 70%vin just 30 minutes when a 10W charger can deliver just 26% to the device in the same period. Even the 22.5W SuperCharge power bank that Huawei has can deliver 55% charge in 30 minutes.  The Huawei 12000 SuperCharge power bank comes with a bi-directional 40W charge and recharge capabilities. This means that while it can deliver 40W output to supported devices, it also has a super fast 40W input speed. Thus, it can become fully charged in just 2 hours 14 minutes as against 5 hours 25 minutes which a 10W 12000 power bank takes to charge from zero to full charge. <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-242916" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-3.png?x44794" alt="Huawei" width="721" height="530" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-3.png 721w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-3-300x221.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px" /></p>
<p>Furthermore, the powerbank is crammed with a mammoth 12000mAh Lithium-Cobalt oxide battery which is similar to the one used on the premium Huawei P20 Pro. Despite the big battery, the powerbank weighs just 227g. The weight won&#8217;t pose a problem if you are on the go. The powerbank supports both Type-A and Type-C outputs. So, it can charge laptops that use USB-C charging ports. <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-242918" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-4.png?x44794" alt="" width="1001" height="524" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-4.png 1001w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-4-300x157.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/huawei-powerbank-4-768x402.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1001px) 100vw, 1001px" /></p>
<p>The Power bank is available in White and Blue colours. Huawei is yet to release details of its pricing and availability.</p>
