<p>The era of dual-fold phones is finally here, and the competition is heating up. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> has just made the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/02/samsung-galaxy-z-trifold-launched-price-specifications/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy Z TriFold</a> official, and it goes head-to-head with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a>’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-xts/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mate XTs Ultimate Design</a>, the successor to the world’s first commercially available tri-fold phone.</p>

<p>Both devices push the envelope of what&#8217;s possible in foldable hardware, but they take drastically different approaches in form factor, display engineering, software, and overall user philosophy.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="976" height="636" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-TriFold-1.jpeg?x10805" alt="Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold" class="wp-image-717539" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-TriFold-1.jpeg 976w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-TriFold-1-300x195.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-TriFold-1-768x500.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-TriFold-1-696x454.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-TriFold-1-645x420.jpeg 645w" sizes="(max-width: 976px) 100vw, 976px" /></figure></div>

<h3><strong>Folding Philosophy: Inward vs Outward</strong></h3>

<p>The most fundamental difference between the two lies in how they fold. The Galaxy Z TriFold folds inward, protecting its expansive 10.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display within a dual-hinge design. When shut, it presents a familiar 6.5-inch cover screen that mirrors modern smartphones. This approach offers greater protection for the main display, especially in high-dust or abrasive environments.</p>

<p>Huawei, on the other hand, embraces an outward-folding Z-shaped form in the Mate XTs. The display wraps around the body, allowing the device to switch between a 6.4-inch smartphone mode, a 7.9-inch intermediate mode, and a fully expanded 10.2-inch tablet. It’s more versatile on paper, but with one clear trade-off: the primary screen is always partially exposed, which could raise durability concerns in the long run.</p>

<h3><strong>Display Technologies and Stylus Input</strong></h3>

<p>Both foldables stretch out to around 10 inches when fully opened, but Samsung wins on refresh rate. Its 10-inch QXGA+ panel offers a 120Hz adaptive refresh and 1600 nits of brightness, backed by a 6.5-inch 2600-nit cover screen. Huawei counters with a slightly larger 10.2-inch OLED display featuring a 3K resolution and 90Hz LTPO refresh. The company also integrates M-Pen 3 stylus support, which is absent on Samsung’s TriFold, despite its tablet-like ambitions.</p>

<p>This gives Huawei an edge for creative users and productivity tasks, especially when paired with its advanced hinge design that allows multi-angle usage. Still, Samsung’s panel is brighter and smoother, offering a more premium viewing experience overall.</p>

<h3><strong>Build Quality and Materials</strong></h3>

<p>Both devices are engineering marvels, but their build philosophies differ as well. Samsung uses Armor Aluminum with a titanium hinge and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front, offering a relatively slim 12.9mm folded profile and IP48 water resistance. Huawei goes heavier on materials science, claiming aerospace-grade steel with 2400MPa strength, an eight-layer hinge buffer structure, and a hinge system that allows 0.1° precision.</p>

<p>Despite the Mate XTs sounding like a tank, it manages to stay lighter at 298g compared to Samsung’s 309g. Huawei also boasts a thinner unfolded profile at just 3.6mm at its slimmest point, besting the TriFold’s 3.9mm.</p>

<h3><strong>Performance, Battery, and Charging</strong></h3>

<p>Samsung relies on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/qualcomm/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Qualcomm</a>’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3nm), paired with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Huawei opts for its own Kirin 9020 chip, which it claims improves performance by 36% over its predecessor. Both phones pack 5600mAh batteries, but Huawei wins decisively on charging: 66W wired, 50W wireless, and 7.5W reverse. Samsung lags with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.</p>

<h3><strong>Camera Capabilities</strong></h3>

<p>Samsung arms its Z TriFold with a 200MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It also includes two 10MP selfie cameras, one on the cover and one inside.</p>

<p>Huawei opts for flexibility over raw pixel count: a 50MP main camera with variable aperture, a 40MP ultra-wide with macro capabilities, a 12MP 5.5x periscope telephoto lens, and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor for color fidelity. There&#8217;s also an 8MP front camera.</p>

<p>Both devices boast powerful cameras, but Samsung’s advanced AI processing and reliable image tuning give it an edge. Huawei’s setup is versatile, yet Samsung may deliver better real-world results.</p>

<h3><strong>Software and Desktop Experience</strong></h3>

<p>Samsung ships the TriFold with Android 16 and One UI 8, ensuring full <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/google/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google</a> services and app compatibility. Huawei, still under U.S. sanctions, ships the Mate XTs with HarmonyOS 5.1, which lacks native Google app support outside China.</p>

<p>On the productivity side, Samsung’s DeX mode works natively on the device’s 10-inch display, letting it double as a mini-desktop without an external monitor. Huawei’s desktop mode requires projection onto an external display, making Samsung’s solution more seamless for multitasking.</p>

<h3><strong>Verdict: Samsung Has the Edge</strong></h3>

<p>The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold feels more complete and practical for global users. Its inward-folding design protects the display, while the bright 120Hz screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and full Android 16 with DeX support make it a powerful and polished foldable.</p>

<p>Huawei’s Mate XTs is bold with stylus support and faster charging, but its outward-fold design and HarmonyOS limitations hold it back. For most, the Galaxy Z TriFold is the smarter choice.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price" class="wp-image-705182" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Huawei introduced the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-xts/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mate XTs Ultimate Design</a> as a follow-up to last year’s Mate XT. The device retains its tri-fold design that transitions from a 6.4-inch smartphone into a 10.2-inch tablet, with an intermediate 7.9-inch mode. The display uses COE pixel super light-transmitting technology, cutting power consumption by 13%.</p>

<p>The phone includes M-Pen 3 stylus support, a reinforced Tiangong hinge system, and aerospace-grade materials. The outer and inner hinge strengths have increased by 23% and 16% respectively, and the screen&#8217;s impact resistance has improved by 30%. The Kirin 9020 processor replaces the older Kirin 9000, improving performance by 36%.</p>

<p>On the camera front, Huawei keeps the 50MP variable aperture main sensor, upgrades the ultra-wide to 40MP with a 2.5cm macro mode, and adds a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. The Mate XTs continues to use a 5600mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.</p>

<p><strong>Price:</strong> Starts at 17,999 yuan (~$2520)</p>

<h3><strong>Pura X</strong></h3>

<p>Huawei launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-pura-x/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pura X</a> as a high-end flip phone with a taller-than-usual 6.3-inch inner OLED screen in a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 3.5-inch square outer display. Both screens support LTPO 2.0 with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh and 1440Hz PWM dimming.</p>

<p>The rear cameras include a 50MP RYYB main sensor, a 40MP ultra-wide with macro capability, and an 8MP 3.5x telephoto lens. Huawei also adds a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. The phone supports IPX8 waterproofing, satellite communication, and a titanium alloy frame with a basalt hinge.</p>

<p>It runs on the Kirin 9020 chipset and packs a 4720mAh dual silicon-carbon battery that supports 66W wired and 40W wireless charging.</p>

<p><strong>Price:</strong> Starts at 7,499 yuan (~$1050)</p>

<h3><strong>Mate X6</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="960" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Huawei-Mate-X6-Cosmic-Red.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei Mate X6" class="wp-image-661905" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Huawei-Mate-X6-Cosmic-Red.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Huawei-Mate-X6-Cosmic-Red-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Huawei-Mate-X6-Cosmic-Red-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Huawei-Mate-X6-Cosmic-Red-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Huawei-Mate-X6-Cosmic-Red-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></figure></div>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-x6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mate X6</a>, launched last year, uses a 7.93-inch internal foldable screen and a 6.45-inch outer display, both with LTPO panels, 120Hz refresh, and high brightness levels up to 2500 nits. The second-generation Kunlun Glass protects the external panel, while a carbon fiber plate reinforces the inner display.</p>

<p>Huawei equips the Mate X6 with a 50MP main camera with a physical aperture ranging from f/1.0 to f/4.0. The setup also includes a 40MP ultra-wide lens, a 48MP 4x periscope telephoto lens, and a 1.5MP Ultra Chroma spectral sensor for improved color accuracy.</p>

<p>It skips 5G in the global variant. Under the hood, a 5110mAh battery powers the device, with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a> has just launched the Mate XTs, the world’s second mass-produced tri-fold phone. Following last year’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-xt-ultimate/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mate XT</a>, the new model upgrades performance with the Kirin 9020 processor and lowers the starting price by 2,000 yuan, coming in at 17,999 yuan (around $2,500).</p>

<p>It’s still expensive, but this time it feels less like a proof of concept and more like a refined device overall.</p>

<h3><strong>A familiar design with smarter details</strong></h3>

<p>The Mate XTs doesn’t radically change its look. Huawei has kept the same three-panel folding structure, which unfolds into a 10.2-inch tablet-sized display. It does come in new color options like White and Hibiscus Purple.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Most of the refinements are under the hood. Huawei has tweaked the hinge for a better folding experience and it is the first time in years that Huawei openly mentioned its chip at the launch event for the first time in four years. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-705182" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-specs-price-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>

<p>The tri-fold is powered by the Kirin 9020 chip, the same SoC as the Pura 80 Pro+ and Pura 80 Ultra. Huawei claims a 36% performance improvement from its predecessor, and it is paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Mate XTs also benefit from Huawei’s own XMage imaging platform. The setup retains the 50MP main and 12MP periscope camera, but there are upgrades where they count. The wide-angle camera jumps from 13 megapixels to a 40-megapixel RYYB sensor, and all three cameras now use Huawei’s RYYB pixel arrangement, which means better sensitivity and improved low-light performance.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-Kirin-9020-chipset.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-705184" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-Kirin-9020-chipset.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-Kirin-9020-chipset-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-Kirin-9020-chipset-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-Kirin-9020-chipset-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-Kirin-9020-chipset-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Huawei has also brought in features from its Pura 80 series, including ultra-clear panoramas, personalized color cards, AI-assisted composition, and enhanced color science.</p>

<h3><strong>More than a phone, less than a PC&nbsp;</strong></h3>

<p>The Mate XTs is also trying hard to be more than just a foldable phone with a big screen. Thanks to Huawei’s HarmonyOS ecosystem, it now supports PC-level productivity apps like WPS Office, Wondershare Drawing, and Wind Financial Terminal, alongside advanced multitasking with flexible multi-window layouts.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-tri-fold-productivity.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-705183" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-tri-fold-productivity.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-tri-fold-productivity-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-tri-fold-productivity-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-tri-fold-productivity-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-tri-fold-productivity-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Huawei is also leaning heavily on accessories. The new M-Pen 3 stylus turns the tri-fold display into a productivity canvas. It supports global annotation, handwriting-to-text conversion, and a clever “split-screen excerpting” feature that lets you drag snippets of text between apps without clunky copy-paste. For business users, the stylus doubles as a remote control for presentations, complete with page-flipping and laser pointer functions.</p>

<h2><strong>Pricing and Availability</strong></h2>

<p>At 17,999 yuan, the Mate XTs is still far from cheap. But compared to its predecessor’s 19,999 yuan price tag, the cut is meaningful. It shows Huawei wants to push the tri-fold beyond early adopters and into a wider market. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-color-options.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-705185" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-color-options.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-color-options-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-color-options-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-color-options-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Huawei-Mate-XTs-color-options-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Here’s the full price breakdown:</p>

<ul><li>16GB+256GB: 17,999 CNY (~Rs 2,22,120 | ~$2,520)</li><li>16GB+512GB: 19,999 CNY (~Rs 2,46,800 | ~$2,810)</li><li>16GB+1TB: 21,999 CNY (~Rs 2,71,480 | ~$3,090)</li><li>Colors: Purple | White | Red | Black</li></ul>

<p>The first Mate XT sold over 500,000 units, so there’s clearly demand for such a product. And Huawei seems to be addressing the demand with a more refined foldable inside and outside.</p>

<h2><strong>What it means for foldables</strong></h2>

<p>For now, Huawei is the only company mass-producing tri-folds. Samsung and others have teased prototypes, but none are on shelves. That gives Huawei a massive head start, particularly in China, where it already dominates the foldable market with around 70 percent share.</p>

<p>But competition is coming. Samsung’s own tri-fold is rumored to be near launch, and other brands won’t be far behind. Huawei needs to keep proving that the tri-fold format isn’t just about showing off engineering skills; it’s about creating real value in productivity, creativity, and daily use.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a> is set to launch its second tri-fold, the Mate XTs, in China on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/27/huawei-mate-xts-launch-september-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">September 4</a>. Ahead of the launch, the company today gave us the first official look at the device along with a few more details.</p>

<p>Huawei shared a warm-up video of the foldable starring actress Yang Mi, who showed off a fresh hibiscus purple finish and support for stylus for the first time in a tri-fold. In the clip, Yang Mi shows how the stylus can be used for tasks like annotating files. </p>

<p>Alongside, Huawei also confirmed that the Mate XTs Extraordinary Master will come in four colors, black, red, white, and the newly introduced hibiscus purple.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Storage options range from 16GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, to a massive 16GB+1TB. Huawei has also quietly opened pre-reservations today at CST 10:08 AM. </p>

<h3><strong>Mate XTs comes with a familiar design</strong></h3>

<p>Design-wise, the Mate XTs has a familiar octagonal lens module on the back. It houses four camera including a main, ultra-wide angle, and a periscope lens similar to original Mate XT. The fourth sensor is supposed to a new red maple primary color camera.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For those unaware, Huawei’s Mate 70 series debuted the Red Maple Primary Color Camera, which is a multispectral sensor that can greatly increase the number of color channels and perceive more colors of light in more bands.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-details.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-703882" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-details.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-details-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-details-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-details-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-details-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>This means that the Red Maple multi-spectral primary color camera can accurately capture the ambient spectrum and provide more realistic color input for the main camera, ultra-wide-angle camera, and telephoto camera,.</p>

<p>Under the hood, the phone is expected to run on Huawei’s Kirin 9020 chip. The processor uses 1+3+4 CPU layout, with a 2.5GHz prime Taishan core, three 2.15GHz mid cores, and four 1.6GHz efficiency cores. Graphics are handled by Maleoon 920 GPU, clocked at 840MHz. The phone will also have satellite communication support. </p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawie">Huawei</a> has officially announced that it will hold a product launch event on Sept. 4 at 2:30pm (local time) in China. The highlight of this event will be the debut of the company’s next-generation triple-folding flagship smartphone dubbed the Huawei Mate XTs. According to Chinese tipsters, the device will arrive with important upgrades in processing power, imaging, and design, while also hinting at an interesting pricing strategy.</p>

<h3><strong>Huawei Mate XTs key details emerge</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="576" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-date-576x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei Mate XTs launch date" class="wp-image-703624" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-date-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-date-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-date-236x420.jpg 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Huawei-Mate-XTs-launch-date.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /><figcaption>Huawei Mate XTs launch date</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The upcoming Huawei Mate XTs Extraordinary Master is the brand’s second triple-folding model. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, it continues the design approach of its predecessor and will arrive in two new color options: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/25/huawei-mate-xt-2-tri-fold-colors/">White and Crimson Purple</a>, with White set to be the primary promotional shade.</p>

<p>On the hardware front, the Mate XTs will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9020">Kirin 9020</a> chipset, the same series found in the Huawei Pura 80 lineup. The chip integrates a CPU built on a 1+3+4 core architecture alongside the Maleoon 920 GPU. The device also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/23/huawei-mate-xt-2-september-launch/">supports satellite communication</a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="963" height="366" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-153.png?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-703625" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-153.png 963w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-153-300x114.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-153-768x292.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-153-696x265.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 963px) 100vw, 963px" /></figure>

<p>Huawei has upgraded the Mate XTs hinge technology to what it calls the Tiangong Hinge System, which is designed to deliver greater durability and improved crease control. On the imaging side, the Mate XTs will feature a 50-megapixel main camera with a variable aperture and support for “Red Maple” true colour imaging. In addition, a periscope telephoto camera has been added to strengthen zoom capabilities.</p>

<p>The Mate XTs is also tipped to arrive with stylus support. The previous model, the Mate XT, sold more than 5,00,000 units and generated 12.54 billion Yuan (approx. $1.73 billion) in revenue. With these upgrades, analysts suggest the new model could push sales towards the one million mark. Pricing is expected to start around 15,000 Yuan (~ $2,060), down from the earlier model’s 19,999 Yuan (~$2,750) launch price.</p>
