<p>Although <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> phones are not as popular as they used to be, the company still isn’t giving up and had continued to launch new phones in the market. Recently, the brand unveiled the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/23/huawei-p60-series-launch-china/">P60 series </a>in China, which includes three good-looking smartphones. Later, the company also introduced the mid-range <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/17/huawei-enjoy-60x-launch/">Enjoy 60X</a>. Now, rumors are rife that the Chinese brand is working on a new phone that looks a lot like the aging Huawei P40 Pro.</p>

<h2>Huawei P40 Pro aesthetics may return</h2>

<p>As per a Chinese tipster, Huawei is working on a new smartphone with a camera module similar to the P40 Pro (Via <em>Huawei Central</em>). To remind you, the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/huawei-P40-pro">Huawei P40 Pro</a> is one of the brand&#8217;s first flagships to debut after the US trade ban. It boasted a notable design and camera setup but lacked 5G connectivity and Google apps.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="862" height="994" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Huawei-testing-new-p40-pro.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei-testing-new-p40-pro" class="wp-image-532607" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Huawei-testing-new-p40-pro.jpg 862w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Huawei-testing-new-p40-pro-260x300.jpg 260w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Huawei-testing-new-p40-pro-768x886.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Huawei-testing-new-p40-pro-696x803.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Huawei-testing-new-p40-pro-364x420.jpg 364w" sizes="(max-width: 862px) 100vw, 862px" /></figure></div>

<p>The renders shared by the tipster show the upcoming smartphone with the same minimalistic design that we saw on the P40 Pro. You can see the curved screen and the wave-shaped aluminum frame instantly. However, unlike the 2020 flagship which gets a pill-shaped cutout on the display, the unnamed Huawei phone features a punch hole in the top center.</p>

<p>There’s a rectangular bump with rounded edges on the back panel. However, the camera arrangement replicates the design of the Huawei P40 Pro, with a vertical organization and a periscope telephoto zoom. Notably, the camera system uses only three lenses, and the right side of the bump houses the LED flash, as well as labels for XMAGE and other functions. Currently, the specifications and the marketing name of the smartphone is not known. We expect to learn more details in the coming days.</p>
