Huawei last week released a revised EMUI 10 update roadmap which stipulated when the tech giant would push the latest update, including Stable ROMs to specific models. The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are now receiving EMUI 10 update which usher in Android 10.

The release is consistent with the mid-November release time frame listed in the revised EMUI 10 update schedule. We must add, though, that the update is for P30 and P30 Pro models in China. No word yet on the global release time frame for the models but that should happen any moment from now. Recall that P30 Pro users in India had started getting EMUI 10 beta update in September.

The Mate 20 series including the Mate 20 X (4G) is next in line to get updated to EMUI 10 stable and that is scheduled to begin in mid/late November. The Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, V20 and Honor Magic 2 are also scheduled to get Android 10-based MagicUI 3.0 Stable ROM late-November.

EMUI 10 is an important update for Huawei phones as it improves smoothness and performance on existing devices. The company has even added a system-wide dark mode which even forces apps that don’t have a dark mode to comply. The system settings are better organized in this new version and the OS is designed to offer a better experience when working other devices like a Windows 10 laptop. EMUI 10 allows the smartphone to cast its screen directly on to the Windows 10 device, offering a seamless working experience. The update equally brings Android 10-inherent features.

Huawei‘s investment in smartphone research and development had started to pay off massively before the US government came calling. At the ongoing MWC Shanghai 2019, He Gang, President of Huawei’s Consumer Business mobile phone product line announced that as at June 20, 2019, the P30 series shipments had exceeded 10 million units in just 85 days. He disclosed that this was 62 days earlier than the period it took the P20 series to exceed 10 million units last year. The record is also faster than the Mate 20 series which took four and half month to hit the 10 million units mark.

The Huawei P30 series still remains a popular one with a sleek, premium design. The colour variants were yet another aspect where the P series has always excelled since the P8. The P30 Pro came with a quad camera setup that even attempts to rewrite the rules of photography. The camera is capable of 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x digital zoom. Huawei launched an event for releasing Huawei P30 series in Shanghai yesterday. This latest series was released weeks ago in Paris, but the event still attracts lots of people to focus. Now we get the Huawei P30 Aurora variant and Huawei P30 Pro Breathing Crystal variant. Let’s check out the Huawei P30 series hands-on!

The packaging boxes of Huawei P30 series are white color with Huawei’s logo, the product name, Leica logo and other hot stamping words. It’s very simple.

Huawei P30 series come with dewdrop display with narrow bezels, so the screen-to-body ratio is quite good. Huawei P30 has a 6.1-inch OLED screen, and the Huawei P30 Pro comes with 6.47-inch OLED screen with a double 3D curved glass body.

Look at the fantastic rear panel.As we all know, P series is the high-end flagship of Huawei, which takes fashion, art and technology into account. And the Huawei P30 series follows the fashion and absorbing of P series.

Like Huawei P20, P30 series still keeps the gradient color design. The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro in my hand are adopt gradient color design, which will show a brilliant color change effect with the different angle of light. The Breathing Crystal is the new color tending to be pink-white, but it will turn to lavender with different angle of light. The official said that the idea comes from nature.

The sides of the P30 series come with premium stainless steel with polished surface that the unity of glass panel and sides is quite good.

On the top of the Huawei P30, there are an antenna partition and a noise-cancelling microphone. A speaker, an antenna partition, a USB Type-C port, a speaking microphone and a 3.5mm earphone jack are placed on the bottom side. The SIM card slot is at the left side and the volume key and the power key are at the right side. Following the Huawei P20, the red elongated groove in the power button is eye-catching.

Different from the P30, there are a volume key and a power button at the Huawei P30 Pro’s right side, but there is no physical button at the left side. Also, the SIM card slot is set on the bottom side. In addition, Huawei P30 Pro has an infrared emitter on the top side. Different external design means that they have different interior design.

In conclusion, Huawei P30 series has more mature design. After the accumulation of multi-generation products, fashion and elegance have become the labels of P series, and Huawei P30 series is the best performance of these labels.
