iQOO Neo6 SE with Snapdragon 870 launched in China – check specs, price & more

Vivo‘s gaming-focused sub-brand iQOO has launched a new smartphone dubbed the iQOO Neo6 SE. It brings the Snapdragon 870 SoC and 64-megapixel triple camera setup.

Display & Design

The iQOO Neo6 SE has a flat back design with curved edges and a matte texture finish. Its rectangular camera module houses a triple camera unit along with an LED flash. Its power button and volume rocker are located on the right side.

On the front, the smartphone features a 6.62-inch FHD+ E4 AMOLED display with 1300nits peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. The display panel has support for 10-bit colors, HDR10+ and offers a mind-blowing 1200Hz touch sampling rate while gaming. There is a punch-hole on the top center for the selfie camera and the screen has thin bezels going around it.

Specs

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, the device is capable of averaging up to 118.6 frames per second in “Honor of Kings” even after an hour of gameplay.

Managing the thermals of the device is a liquid cooling system. It comes with five layers of ultra-thin graphite for heat dissipation which covers an area of 36907 square millimeters on the smartphone.

The smartphone is equipped with an X-axis linear motor and stereo speakers making the gaming experience on the machine much more vivid and immersive. The machine has also received the acknowledgment of the KPL competition league as a certified device.

The smartphone has a 4700mAh with 80W flash charging. iQOO claims that the battery can be topped up from 0 to 100% in just 30 minutes. It operates on Android 12 based OriginOS Ocean.

Camera

The device features a 64-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. iQOO has also included an AI multi-frame fusion noise reduction algorithm for more clear and crisp pictures in low light conditions.

On the front, the Neo6 SE features a 16-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calls.

Pricing & availability

The iQOO Neo6 SE comes in three color variants – Orange, Gradient Blue, and Gradient Green. It is available in three configurations, starting with 8GB + 128GB priced at 1,999 yuan ($300). The 8GB + 256GB variant has a price tag of 2,299 yuan ($345) and the top-spec 12GB + 256GB configuration can be purchased for 2,499 yuan ($375). The device is available for pre-order in China and will go on its first sale starting May 11.

iQOO announced yesterday that it will release the iQOO Neo6 SE on May 6. With the arrival of the new flagship, the price of its predecessor, the iQOO Neo5 SE, dropped by 200 Yuan ($30).

The iQOO official flagship store in the Chinese e-commerce platform Jingdong shows that the starting price of the 8GB+128GB variant of the iQOO Neo5 SE has been reduced by 200 Yuan.

The iQOO Neo5 SE was previously available at a starting price of ¥1,999 ($303), but will now be available at ¥1,799 for the 8+128GB variant after the ¥200 price cut.

iQOO Neo5 SE Specifications

iQOO runs Android-based 12 Origin OS Ocean and features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 870 5G SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with a 50 MP(wide)+8 MP (ultrawide)+ 2 MP (macro) rear camera setup at the back, accompanied by a Dual-LED flash. At the front, the handset features a 16-megapixel selfie camera sensor.

iQOO Neo5 SE comes with a 4500mAh battery that supports 55W fast charging. The device is available in three color options, Black, White, and Aurora. It is worth mentioning that iQOO Neo5 SE is also equipped with dual speakers and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It’s successor the iQOO Neo6 SE will likely feature a 6.62-inch OLED display with a punch-hole at the top-centre position. The Neo6 SE may offer a Full HD+ resolution display and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is said to feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner for security.

The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 and fueled by a 4,700mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. It is likely to run on the Android 12 OS and iQOO UI.

iQOO Neo6, Neo6 SE spotted on IMEI database; launch expected soon

Earlier today, an image of the purported iQOO Neo6 appeared on the Internet giving out some of its design elements. Now, the Neo6 along with Neo6 SE has been spotted on the IMEI database.

The listing was reported by PassionateGeekz and we learn that the upcoming iQOO Neo6 will soon arrive in India. Not just the Neo6, the Neo6 SE could also tag along. The IMEI database shows two listings – iQOO Neo6 with listing model number I2124 and iQOO Neo6 SE with model number I2125.

Previously, the iQOO Neo6 with the official model number V2196A was spotted on TENAA. The smartphone sports a 6.62-inch punch-hole display with narrow bezels. It has an E4 AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full-HD+ resolution. The smartphone may come with an in-display fingerprint scanner for security.

The device is expected to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will pack a 4,700mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging technology. A recent leak revealed that the phone may come with triple cameras. As of now, there’s no detail about the phone’s camera specs.

Speaking of the Neo6 SE, the phone is expected to come with a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC. It was spotted on 3C with a different model number – V2157A. The listing revealed a 66W fast charging technology. The rest of the details of this model are scarce.

Regarding the launch, rumors have it that the phone may debut next month, reportedly on April 13. The device is expected to first debut in China and later in the rest of the markets.
