The partnership means you can now charge your Jaguar at Tesla’s Superchargers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. But there’s more. Starting in 2025, new Jaguar models will be fitted with Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), eliminating the need for adapters.

Switching from refurbished Tesla parts to an in-house EV system, ECD aims for improved efficiency and charging times. The 42 kWh battery in the E-Type offers a 150-mile range and charges from 10 to 80 percent in under an hour. The powertrain churns out 295 horsepower and includes features like creep mode and cruise control.

According to an insider scoop from Autocar, a trio of futuristic electric vehicles (EVs) will roll out post-2025, with the next-generation XJ sedan at the forefront. A Florida resident’s Jaguar I-Pace caught fire after the car was left to charge overnight. This incident is the fourth relating to the I-Pace and brings to focus the nagging issue of EV fires. The owner of the car managed to remove the flaming car from his garage to prevent his house from going up in flames.

Fire risks remain a major danger in electric vehicles. Several fire incidents have been reported over the years mainly due to battery overheating. The particular incident in Florida involved a British-made EV – the Jaguar I-Pace. The car caught fire after returning from a 12-mile trip. The car’s owner Gonzalo Salazar had charged the car overnight before the 12-mile trip. The owner heard loud popping noises from the car shortly after he parked the car in his garage. He thereafter discovered dense smoke as a result of the blazing flame. Bravely, the owner was able to drive the 2019 I-Pace model out of his garage to mitigate the impact of the fire.

A video that captured the fire incident showed that the fire caused some smaller explosions. This indicates that the fire could have been caused by the car’s LG battery cells. The previously reported fire incidents with the I-Pace were also related to battery issues. A statement from Jaguar says it will thoroughly inspect the destroyed I-Pace before releasing any further details.

The Jaguar I-Pace is not an EV with strong demand, but it is expected that the British automaker moves swiftly to resolve the EV fire issue.
