<p>These regions will include France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom (Via <a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/android-apps-windows-11-coming-europe-japan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">XDA Developers</a>). For those unaware, this feature was announced in June 2021 and made its way to the live version of Windows earlier this year. Microsoft has partnered with Amazon for this service and provides the Android apps via the Amazon Appstore on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows-11/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Windows 11</a>.</p>
<p>If you live outside of these above-mentioned regions and can&#8217;t wait for the update to make its way to your country, you can easily access the feature from the Microsoft store after changing your region settings in Windows. The more challenging part is getting access to the apps themselves as Amazon Appstore currently works only with US-based Amazon accounts. There is still a way to sideload the Android apps on Windows 11, however, it would require a bit of tinkering and technical know-how.</p>

<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/windows-11-usage-share-adduplex-january-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">XDA Developers</a>, </em>the January usage report published by <em><a href="https://reports.adduplex.com/#/r/2022-01" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">AdDuplex</a></em> shows that Windows 11 has almost doubled its userbase since November 2021. For those unaware, AdDuplex is a company that provides an advertising framework for apps on the Microsoft store.</p>
<p>The report shows that the user base of Windows 11 is 16.1% of total users, which was only 8.6% back in the month of November. These numbers appear to be in line with Microsoft&#8217;s recently stated that users are adopting Windows 11 much quicker than expected, which is twice as fast as they adopted Windows 10. The company even claimed that customer satisfaction with Windows 11 has been the highest among all <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Windows</a> versions released as of yet.</p>
<p>Though it is worth keeping in mind that this data is from a sample size of 60,000 systems which is rather small when you consider that billions of systems use some form of Windows OS. The data also leaves out systems not using Windows 10 or 11 since only the recent version can have the AdDuplex SDK. Meaning the data does not include Windows 7 and 8 users.</p>
<p>That aside, the growing userbase is still impressive considering that a lot of systems are incompatible with Windows 11 and can not be upgraded via normal methods. And the popularity of Windows 11 is still expected to grow as the company matures the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/20/google-brings-android-games-to-windows-but-its-in-limited-beta/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Android apps and games support</a> on the operating system.</p>

After the entire smartphone industry saga with <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/google/">Google</a> services, the company decided to make the transition to <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/Harmonyos/">HarmonyOS</a>, an in-house operating system. Well, as for Huawei MateBook users, the only big transition in the pipeline is the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/windows11/">Windows 11</a> upgrade. Huawei has officially confirmed that all its MateBook series laptops will be upgraded to the new version of Windows.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-411253" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Huawei-MateBook-Windows-11-793x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei MateBook Windows 11 confirmed" width="696" height="899" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Huawei-MateBook-Windows-11-793x1024.jpg 793w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Huawei-MateBook-Windows-11-232x300.jpg 232w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Huawei-MateBook-Windows-11-768x992.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Huawei-MateBook-Windows-11-696x899.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Huawei-MateBook-Windows-11-325x420.jpg 325w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Huawei-MateBook-Windows-11.jpg 991w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>This confirmation from the official social media of Huawei on Weibo comes ahead of the October 5 launch of Windows 11. Huawei confirms that all MateBook laptops with pre-installed Windows 10 are eligible for a completely free-of-cost Windows 11 upgrade.</p>
<p>Huawei&#8217;s MateBook notebooks are categorized into ‎<span class="accentTextColor">‎the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/huawei-matebook-x/">X-Series</a>, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/matebookseries/">MateBook Series</a>, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tags/Huawei-matebook-d/">D-Series</a>, as well as‎</span>‎ the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/25/huawei-launch-matebook-b-tpm-2-0-in-china/">recently launched</a> MateBook B-Series. We can expect the Windows 11 update to air for these MateBook devices soon after Microsoft officially launches it globally.</p>
<p>Windows 11 brings a plethora of visual changes, the addition of widgets, along with an all-new Microsoft Store with the ability to run Android apps on a desktop. The next generation of Windows will have a revamped look, which will also boost productivity.</p>

Among the CPUs that were cut off the list are the 6th gen and 7th gen <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/intel/">Intel</a> processors. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amd/">AMD</a> processors were in no good shape either. But that didn&#8217;t stop enthusiasts from getting their hands on the next-gen Windows, and they went for it anyway. Previously, Microsoft allowed these older PCs to at least test out the new Windows version. But as we move closer to the stable release date, the process of kicking out unsupported PCs has begun.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-395072" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-dark-mode-1024x640.jpg?x44794" alt="Windows 11 dark mode" width="696" height="435" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-dark-mode-1024x640.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-dark-mode-300x188.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-dark-mode-768x480.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-dark-mode-696x435.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-dark-mode-1068x668.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-dark-mode-672x420.jpg 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-dark-mode.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>Earlier, users who were already in the Dev and Beta channels with unsupported hardware were allowed to stay in the program till the stable version was out. Upon its arrival, they&#8217;d have to be turned back to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows10/">Windows 10</a> 21H2 build. But now, Microsoft has already begun to filter out ineligible devices and prompting them to go back to Windows 10 to keep the update cycle running.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">Microsoft has now dropped ineligible systems from the Insider program and tells them to install Windows 10. <a href="https://t.co/zfALanmcuq">pic.twitter.com/zfALanmcuq</a></p>
<p>&mdash; BetaWiki (@BetaWiki) <a href="https://twitter.com/BetaWiki/status/1432806974022995971?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 31, 2021</a></p></blockquote>
<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>Microsoft continued to air pre-release builds on unsupported CPUs, namely 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2 which eventually became the stepping stones to the big upgrade, apparently letting a big chunk of ineligible devices be part of the Windows 11 program. This explains why the company allowed Insiders and Dev channels to sneak into the new version. With the older PCs testing out the earlier builds, Microsoft used that data to formulate a conclusion that eligible PCs had negligible crashes, at around 0.2%, while ineligible PCs had 52% more crash incidents.</p>
<p>So now, it&#8217;s time to move back to where your older PCs belong. For the systems that are being deported back to Windows 10, you may still have a chance to run Windows 11 by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/28/microsoft-now-allow-windows-11-installed-unsupported-cpus-using-iso/">installing it via ISO</a>.</p>

A <a href="https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/event">dedicated page</a> is now live that confirms the next-gen Microsoft Surface launch date to be September 22. Not only does this page talk about the launch details, but also gives out a glimpse of how one of the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/microsoft-surface">Surface</a> devices is going to look like. With these two big reveals lined up, Microsoft is certainly going to be at the center of discussion, at least for a couple of weeks.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone wp-image-409729 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Microsodt-Surface-Sep.-22-event-1024x565.png?x44794" alt="Microsodt Surface Sep. 22 event" width="1024" height="565" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Microsodt-Surface-Sep.-22-event-1024x565.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Microsodt-Surface-Sep.-22-event-300x166.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Microsodt-Surface-Sep.-22-event-768x424.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Microsodt-Surface-Sep.-22-event-696x385.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Microsodt-Surface-Sep.-22-event-1068x589.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Microsodt-Surface-Sep.-22-event-761x420.png 761w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Microsodt-Surface-Sep.-22-event.png 1426w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>After having chalked up an impressive 9-year journey, Surface is once again set to stir enthusiasts. However, what remains to be seen is that how many of these Surface devices are in the pipeline. Microsoft has kept it short and crisp with no major hints whatsoever, so relying on leaks and smart guesses is the only way to find it out.</p>
<p>As speculated by <a href="https://www.slashgear.com/microsoft-announces-windows-11-event-with-surface-for-september-01689163/">Slashgear</a>, we may finally get to see the Surface Duo 2 for which <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/27/microsoft-surface-duo-2-has-snapdragon-888-reveals-geekbench-listing/">there were leaks sporadically</a> throughout the year. If history is anything to go by, there will be more devices tagging along with Surface Duo 2. Seen in the teaser image is, what appears to be, the successor of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/02/microsoft-surface-pro-7-officially-launched-finally-comes-with-usb-c/">Surface Pro 7</a> that comes with a similar detachable stand and keyboard as accessories which means the Surface Pro 8 is in sight. The portfolio may further expand with the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/28/microsoft-surface-laptop-4-arrives-in-india-in-amd-and-intel-variants-starts-at-rs-102999/">Surface Book 4</a>.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s about time we mark our calendars for September 22 at 11 AM ET to live stream the big event. Microsoft will certainly air it on the website, but watching the launch on YouTube is something that is always an alternative.</p>
<p>Since <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/31/windows-11-gets-october-5-release-date-as-a-free-upgrade-for-eligible-devices/">Windows 11 has a dedicated day</a> for its introduction, we do not expect much to be highlighted on September 22. The stage is only going to be occupied by the Surface lineup.</p>

One of the impressive features users would be looking forward to having is the native support of Android apps. This means that, unlike previous versions, users won&#8217;t need to install an Android emulator in order to run Android apps on the Windows PC. However, if you are looking forward to the feature when Windows 11 starts <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/31/windows-11-gets-october-5-release-date-as-a-free-upgrade-for-eligible-devices/">rolling out on October 5</a>, you may have to wait for a little more. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-featured.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-396252" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-featured.jpg?x44794" alt="Windows 11 featured" width="906" height="510" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-featured.jpg 906w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-featured-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-featured-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-featured-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-featured-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 906px) 100vw, 906px" /></a></p>
<p>Microsoft yesterday announced via its website that the Android app support won&#8217;t be available on the OS when it will be launched on October 5. The company isn&#8217;t withholding the feature permanently, as it disclosed a rollout on a later date.  The company also disclosed that the feature will be made available for Windows Insider users in the next few months after the launch. The Windows Insider Program is a community of millions of Windows&#8217; biggest fans who get to be the first to see what&#8217;s next. It is open for anyone with an Administrator right on their system to join using a Microsoft account.</p>
<p>Microsoft also assured fans that the other new features that were announced to debut on Windows 11 will be made available during the October 5 release. Windows 11 will come with features such as a new UI, a new Start menu, and gaming-related enhancements.</p>
