Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has launched the MIJIA Laser Engraving Machine will now be available in China from December 20. The gadget went through a crowdfunding campaign on September 27 with a price tag of 1,399 yuan ($196). The brand recently launched the MIJIA label printer and has a 3D printer under its sleeves.

A laser engraving machine is a perfect tool for customizing various materials. It provides a unique identification for various objects if need be. The MIJIA Laser Engraving Machine is a 3W high-energy-efficiency laser. It can be used for various scenarios including gift customization, product identification, batch engraving, artistic creation, and home DIY tasks. Its Sharp 450nm blue laser light source has a power rating of 3W. This can meet the engraving needs of different materials like leather, solid wood board, canvas, black plastic board, and kraft paper.

The optical lenses of the MIJIA Laser Engraving Machine, coupled with its dual-focus design, enable it to focus the laser energy through spot compression technology. The vertical spot is 0.25mm and delivers high-precision engraving effects. The laser engraving machine does not require the installation of ink consumables and its companion app is the MIJIA app. After turning on the power, you can add a device via the MIJIA app to start creating an engraving effect. It is possible to add text, stickers, hand drawings, and others at the same time.

The integrated body design of the Laser Engraving Machine features TOF TOF-ranging function to achieve bracket-assisted lifting. It can also adapt to objects of different heights and a 4,800mm/s galvanometer is featured for rapid engraving.

The MIJIA Laser Engraving Machine is priced at 1,399 yuan ($196) in China. The product could make its way into overseas markets subsequently but availability details are lacking at this time.

However, now it’s on hot pre-order right on Geekwills and will ship on Dec 29th. Since there are no further details about the release of its overseas version, it could be a good idea to get it early on Geekwills.
