Moto G 5G Plus launched back in July 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. Months after the official announcement of Google, the Android 11 OS is now rolling out to the users of the device in Brazil. An update with firmware version RPN31.Q4U-39-27-5 with a download size of 1.08GB is rolling out.

The update brings Android 11 features like Conversation notifications, Chat bubbles, a built-in screen recorder, media controls in the Quick Settings panel, Smart Device controls, and more. Along with this, the update also brings the February 2021 security patch to the Moto G 5G Plus.

Motorola revealed the list of eligible devices for getting the Android 11 update back in December. After that, the Moto G Pro was surprisingly the first one to get it. Cut back to the present times, the company has so far updated devices like the Motorola Edge+(Verizon), Moto G8 & G8 Power, and Motorola Edge.

Coming back, this firmware version is only for the dual-SIM variant of the Moto G 5G Plus with the model number XT2075-3-DS. Hence, users in other regions will have to wait till Motorola officially expands the rollout.

We aren’t sure if the device would get the next Android 12 as of now, but we can expect security patches from Motorola. For now, if you are in Brazil, you can navigate to Settings > System > Advanced > System update to check out the new update.

The Moto E (2020), Moto E6s (2020), Moto G8 Power Lite, Motorola One Vision, and Moto E7 phones that went official this year are not mentioned in the list. Hence, it is unclear whether these devices will receive the Android 11 OS update or not.

Lenovo did not confirm when it will begin rolling out the Android 11 OS update. Probably, the flagship and upper mid-range phones could be the first phones that will be updated to the newest version of Android. The device starts below 300 euros in Europe. And brings features like 5G, 48MP camera, bigger battery to the table.

Motorola Moto G 5G Price, Availability

The new Motorola Moto G 5G will be available in two variants- 4GB RAM, 64GB storage. And 6GB RAM, 128GB storage. The base variant costs €299.99 while the higher 6GB RAM variant is priced at €349.99.

As for availability, the device will reportedly be ready for sale in European countries like Belgium. And the Netherlands by end of December. Several retailers are expected to begin the pre-orders as early as this month.

Motorola Moto G 5G Specifications

As Expected, the “Motorola Kiev” launched as the Moto G 5G today(via TechRadar) in Europe. The device has a similar rear panel to the higher-priced sibling, Moto G 5G Plus. The latter launched almost four months back at 349 euros. The front, however as a single centered punch-hole display compared to the double punch-hole on the Moto G 5G Plus.

There are power, volume buttons to the right, and a Google Assistant button to the left. The camera array on the rear is a squircle design and also has a Motorola logo that sits inside the fingerprint sensor.

As speculated, the display is a 6.7-inch FHD+(2400x1080p) which is similar to the Plus variant. But it has a lesser 60Hz refresh rate screen. Under the hood, we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC. For cameras, there is a Samsung GM1 48MP main lens, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro lens on the rear, and 16MP front camera. The difference from the Plus variant is that its sibling doesn’t have a second front lens.

All this is backed up by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging. However, the device runs Android 10 and not 11 out of the box.

The phone will go on sale first in the UK and Europe at a price tag of £329 and €329 respectively before landing in North America.

While the OnePlus Nord N10 5G does pack decent specs, the category and price range it belongs to is packed full with several options. This post is a list of five alternative budget 5G phones you can purchase. Do note that this list of devices is in no particular order.

Mi 10T Lite 5G

The Mi 10T Lite 5G is a new phone that launched this month. It is the least powerful model of the Mi 10T series but is also the cheapest. Nevertheless, this budget 5G phone has a lot going for it.

The Mi 10T Lite has a 6.67-inch display with a centered punch hole in the middle. This is an LCD display like you have on the OnePlus Nord N10 5G but Xiaomi’s phone has a higher 120Hz refresh rate and AdaptiveSync that automatically switches between refresh rates based on the content on your screen. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 750G and comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage with a dedicated MicroSD card slot.

There is a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-camera setup on the back while a 16MP camera is in front for taking selfies. It also has a bigger 4820mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. There is NFC, a 360° ambient light sensor, IR blaster, stereo speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Mi 10 Lite packs better specs than OnePlus’s new phone and is also cheaper in the UK, selling for £229 for the 64GB version and £249 for the 128GB version. You can even grab the base model for £199.00 today. Hurry, there are only a few hours left. In other parts of Europe such as Germany, the phone sells for €279.90 for the base model and €349.90 for the 128GB version. That sure is more expensive than the OnePlus Nord N10 5G but it offers more in terms of features.

Mi 10 Lite 5G

Before the Mi 10T Lite 5G, there was the Mi 10 Lite 5G. If you prefer an OLED display, then this should do it for you, however, its 6.57-inch FHD+ HDR10+ screen has a waterdrop notch and it only has a 60Hz refresh rate.

The Mi 10 Lite 5G also has a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-camera setup but its selfie camera is a 16MP sensor. You do get the Snapdragon 765G processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There is no storage expansion support but it has an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, stereo speakers, and an IR blaster. Its battery is slightly smaller than that of the Nord N10 5G at 4160mAh and it supports a much slower 20W fast charge.

The Mi 10 Lite is £349/€349 for the 6+128GB version and £299/€309 for the 6+64GB version.

Moto G 5G Plus

Motorola’s Moto G 5G Plus is the first Moto G 5G phone and it keeps the affordable price tag the series is known for. Starting at €349, the phone has a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and two separate holes in the screen for front-facing cameras.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 765 processor and has up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Just like the Nord N10 5G, and the other two phones mentioned above, the Moto G 5G Plus has quad rear cameras – a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera. Its primary front camera is a 16MP sensor paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera.

Other features are a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, a dedicated Google Assistant button, and a 5000mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging. The base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage is €349 while the 6+128GB version is €399.

OPPO Reno4 Z 5G

The Reno4 Z 5G is another affordable 5G phone that launched earlier this month in Europe. Unlike the other devices on this list that are powered by Qualcomm processor, the Reno4 Z 5G has MediaTek’s Dimensity 800 chipset inside it.

The screen is a 6.57-inch FHD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a pill-shaped punch-hole for dual front-facing cameras. The processor is paired with 8GB of RAM, more than the Nord N10 5G has but you get 128GB of non-expandable storage.

You also get a 48MP quad-camera setup on the back which includes an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and two 2MP sensors. The front cameras are a 16MP + 2MP combo with an ultrawide angle lens. You get a smaller 4000mAh battery and a much slower 18W fast charging. There is also NFC, an audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The phone is available for purchase for £329.99 and if you order between now and November 13, you get a free pair of OPPO Enco W31 TWS earbuds that are priced at £89.

Samsung Galaxy A42 5G

The Galaxy A42 5G will arrive in Europe next month but it is still worthy of being on this list. The mid-range 5G phone will sell for £349/€369 when it goes on sale on November 6, and for that price, you get a phone powered by the Snapdragon 750G processor.

The phone also has a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display albeit HD+. The variant that will be sold in the UK has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a 48MP quad-camera setup that includes an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 5MP depth of field camera. A 20MP selfie camera sits in the notch in the display. There is also a 5000mAh battery that charges at a disappointing 15W.

The Galaxy A42 5G also has an in-display fingerprint scanner, support for MicroSD card, and NFC.

The source of the info is XDA-Developers and they say the phone will have a price tag under $500. The Moto One 5G will also have a different configuration. Unlike the Moto G 5G Plus that comes in 4+64GB and 6+128GB versions, the Moto One 5G will have 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device will be sold by AT&T with support for sub-6GHz networks and by Verizon with support for mmWave.

The rest of the specs should be the same. So you get a 6.7-inch CinemaVision FHD+ 90Hz display with two holes in the screen for the two selfie cameras. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 765 processor which will draw juice from a 5000mAh battery.

The Moto One 5G will have four rear cameras – a 48MP f/1.7 main camera, a 5MP f/2.2 macro camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP f/2.2 depth camera. The cameras in front are a 16MP f/2.0 main camera paired with an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera.

Other features include dual SIM support, a dedicated MicroSD card slot, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an audio jack, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, a dedicated Google Assistant button, support for 20W fast wired charging, and Motorola’s My UX based on Android 10.

The AT&T version of the phone will be available in September while Verizon will get it in October. When the phone launches, it will go up against the Pixel 4a 5G which is also scheduled to launch soon.

Design

Despite it is an affordable phone, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite is built with premium materials just like flagships. Its body is composed of a glass back protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and an aluminum frame: these materials alone let the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite win our design comparison since both Samsung Galaxy M51 and Motorola Moto G 5G Plus have a full plastic body. However, the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus is still very interesting with its dual punch-hole display and its water-repellent body.

Display

On the paper, Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite has the most interesting display. It is equipped with an AMOLED panel showing brilliant colors with the support of the HDR10 standard for better image quality. Right after, we got the Samsung Galaxy M51 which still comes with an AMOLED panel. Unfortunately for a lot of people following the trends, Motorola Moto G 5G Plus features an IPS display. But on the other hand, it is the only one to offer a 90 Hz refresh rate. Note that Samsung Galaxy M51 and Motorola Moto G 5G Plus have a wider display than Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite, and this makes the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite a more compact phone.

Hardware/Software

The most advanced hardware department belongs to the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus. First of all, it has the fastest and best chipset: the Snapdragon 765 (not the G version). Further, it supports 5G connectivity, unlike Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite and Samsung Galaxy M51. The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite takes the silver medal with its Snapdragon 730G paired with up to 8 GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy M51 loses the comparison with its Snapdragon 730 and just 6 GB of RAM, but it is still a great phone if we talk about performance. These devices run Android 10 out of the box.

Camera

On the camera side, nobody can beat the Samsung Galaxy M51. It has the same main camera as the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite, but it sports better secondary sensors including a 12 MP ultrawide lens and two 5 MP sensors for macros and depth info. Last but not least, it features a better 32 MP selfie snapper. With the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus, you get better selfie cameras than Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite, but the latter offers good rear cameras.

Battery

The battery is the strongest point of the Samsung Galaxy M51. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite and Motorola Moto G 5G Plus are great battery phones, but Samsung Galaxy M51 kills them with its mammoth 7,000 mAh battery. The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite and the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus are more or less at the same level, but the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite is slightly better in a lot of scenarios, especially thanks to its AMOLED display.

Price

Samsung Galaxy M51 is priced €360/$430, Motorola Moto G 5G Plus has a listing price of €399/$476, and Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite can be bought for less than €300/$359 thanks to online street prices. There is not a winner for everyone in this comparison: the Samsung Galaxy M51 offers better cameras and battery, the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus has better hardware and 5G, and Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite has a better build quality and display. Which is your favorite one?

A lot of people are waiting for it to go on sale all around the world to get a complete 5G phone at an affordable price, but is it really the best choice of its segment? Well, in the same price range, you can actually get several other handsets with amazing specifications and the 5G connectivity. We chose two of them for this comparison in order to establish if OnePlus Nord is the best option out there. If you want to know the differences between OnePlus Nord, Moto G 5G Plus, and Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite as well as our opinion about them, go ahead with this comparison and you will not be left disappointed.

Design

The OnePlus Nord provides the most premium design. It is equipped with a glass back and it has a punch-hole display, as well as a smaller camera module for a more elegant look, in my honest opinion. Moto G 5G Plus has a dual punch hole as well, with two separate holes instead of a pill-shaped hole. But it has a full plastic body, that is why we do not consider it as the most premium device of this comparison. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite is less attractive with its waterdrop notch and it is nothing so special in terms of build quality.

Display

Besides coming with the best design, OnePlus Nord is also equipped with the best display. It is an AMOLED panel with a 6.44-inch diagonal, the HDR10+ certification, and a high 90 Hz refresh rate. It has all the features you would expect from a high-end display. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite has an AMOLED display too, but it lacks a high refresh rate. The Moto G 5G Plus has a 90 Hz refresh rate, but it lacks an AMOLED panel. OnePlus Nord provides both, that is the simple reason why it is better in terms of display. Unfortunately, you do not get a 3.5 mm audio jack on the OnePlus Nord, while the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite and the Moto G 5G Plus have it.

Hardware/Software

At least in its most expensive configuration, OnePlus Nord provides the most advanced hardware side. It is fueled by the Snapdragon 765G paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.1 native storage. You get all the power of 5G and very high performance, even though we are still far from real flagships. Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite has a Snapdragon 765G chipset, but just 8 GB of RAM in its higher-end variant. Moto G 5G Plus has a weaker Snapdragon 765 offer slightly inferior CPU and GPU performance than the SD765G. OnePlus Nord and Moto G 5G Plus run Android 10 with a nearly-stock user experience, while Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite has a highly-customized user interface (MIUI 11).

Camera

OnePlus Nord gets the gold medal even for its camera department. It is the only device from this trio to feature OIS for better stabilization. Further, it has better front cameras including a 32 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide secondary sensor. Moto G 5G Plus and Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite are very close when it comes to cameras, at least in regards of the rear camera setup. On the front side, the Moto G 5G Plus is more interesting since it features a dual ultrawide front camera.

Battery

The bigger 5000 mAh battery of the Moto G 5G Plus makes it a true battery phone able to last two days even with intensive usage. This is the real advantage of the Moto G 5G Plus compared to its rivals. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite should be slightly better than OnePlus Nord due to its standard refresh rate, but only testing their software optimizations will give us the definitive answer.

Price

In the global market, OnePlus Nord and Moto G 5G Plus are priced €399/$464 in their base variants, while Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite starts from €369/$429. Despite Moto G 5G Plus provides a way longer battery life, OnePlus Nord wins this comparison thanks to its better display and cameras.

The U.S. company acquired by Lenovo left a lot of people surprised with its new mid-rangers and flagship, including me. In this comparison, we included all the most interesting mid-rangers released by Motorola this year. We are talking about Motorola Edge from the lineup considered Motorola’s comeback in the high-end segment, the Moto G 5G Plus which is the first Motorola 5G affordable phone after the Edge, and the Motorola One Fusion+ offering amazing specifications at a very affordable price.

Design

There is not any doubt: the most impressive design of this trio belongs to the Motorola Edge. Despite winning this design comparison, the Motorola Edge is one of the most beautiful devices released this year. It has a stunningly high screen-to-body ratio, with its display covering almost the 96 percent of the front panel. It also comes with a splash resistant design and an aluminum frame, but unfortunately, it has a plastic back (unlike flagships sporting a glass back). The Motorola Edge has a punch-hole design, Moto G 5G Plus has a dual punch-hole, and Motorola One Fusion+ has a full-screen display thanks to a motorized pop-up camera.

Display

The most advanced display is on the Motorola Edge. This handset is the only one from this comparison to sport an OLED panel, which provides more brilliant colors and deeper blacks. Further, it sports a 90 Hz refresh rate and HDR10 for a great image quality and a smooth viewing experience. Moto G 5G Plus has 90 Hz and HDR10 as well, but it sports an IPS panel instead of an OLED display. Motorola One Fusion+ lacks both the OLED technology and a high refresh rate, so it takes the last place.

Hardware/Software

As it features the most powerful chipset, Motorola Edge wins the hardware comparison, but just by a slight margin. The Motorola Edge has a Snapdragon 765G SoC onboard, which offers slightly better CPU and GPU performances compared to the Snapdragon 765 found on the Moto G 5G Plus. Both the handsets support all 5G frequencies thanks to an integrated 5G modem, they feature up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage. Motorola One Fusion+ lacks 5G support and it is powered by an inferior Snapdragon 730G chipset. With all of these handsets, you get Android 10 out of the box with a nearly-stock experience.

Camera

Motorola Edge is the winner even when it comes to the camera comparison. It is not a real high-end camera phone, but it has better secondary sensors, including a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, a TOF 3D sensor to capture depth info and a 16 MP ultrawide sensor. Right after, we got the Motorola One Fusion+ with a 64 MP quad-camera. But Moto G 5G Plus is the best when it comes to front cameras as it sports a dual ultrawide front camera including a 16 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor.

Battery

Thanks to its bigger 5000 mAh battery, no 5G support and a standard refresh rate, Motorola One Fusion+ is actually able to offer a longer battery life on a single charge. Moto G 5G Plus comes right after with the same battery capacity, but its components consume more energy.

Price

You can actually find the Motorola Edge globally for less than €600/$684 (6/128 GB), Moto G 5G Plus starts from €399/$455 (4/64 GB), and Motorola One Fusion+ costs €299/$340. If you do not mind about 5G and high refresh rate, Motorola One Fusion+ can let you save a lot of money. But Motorola Edge wins the comparison with its better display, cameras, and hardware. Moto G 5G Plus is the perfect compromise between performance and price.

Design

Despite Moto G 5G Plus and Huawei P40 Lite 5G come with a punch-hole display and Oppo Find X2 Lite has a classic waterdrop notch, Oppo Find X2 Lite is my favorite handset when it comes to the design. It is more compact, beautiful, minimalistic, thinner, and lighter than its two rivals. It is very elegant and it is easier to use with one hand. Motorola Moto G 5G Plus is made with cheaper materials, but it is splash resistant, so it remains a very interesting device in terms of build quality.

Display

The Oppo Find X2 Lite wins the display comparison because it sports an AMOLED panel: it provides more brilliant colors and deeper blacks, for a more interesting overall image quality, as well as lower energy consumption. Right after, we got the Moto G 5G Plus which offers the HDR10 certification and a 90 Hz refresh rate, but it has a classic LCD display. Huawei P40 Lite 5G lacks both an AMOLED display and a high refresh rate, but it still comes with an above-average LTPS panel.

Hardware/Software

On benchmarks, the Kirin 820 chipset found on the Huawei P40 Lite 5G actually obtains higher results than the Snapdragon 765G by Qualcomm. However, a lot of people trust Qualcomm’s chipsets more for their stability, modding compatibility, and more. Further, Huawei P40 Lite 5G lacks Google services out of the box: instead, it comes with Huawei Mobile Services to replace them in the global market. If you do not mind about the above-mentioned disadvantages, then you can go for the Huawei P40 Lite 5G. But I would personally choose the Oppo Find X2 Lite with its Snapdragon 765G which offers 2 GB RAM more than the Huawei P40 Lite 5G.

Camera

You should not focus too much on the cameras while choosing between one of these devices. Not because they are bad, but because their camera departments are more or less at the same level. In each case, we are talking about above-average, but not high-end, camera phones. Note that with the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus you get the best front cameras: an ultrawide dual sensor with 16 and 8 MP resolutions.

Battery

Motorola Moto G 5G Plus lasts a lot more on a single charge because it sports a way bigger battery than Huawei P40 Lite 5G and Oppo Find X2 Lite. Huawei P40 Lite 5G wins the fast charging comparison with its 40W power, and it even supports reverse charging.

Price

In the global market, you can get the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus and the Huawei P40 Lite 5G for €399/$450 (4/64 GB and 6/128 GB respectively), while Oppo Find X2 Lite is priced €499/$564 in the configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. At the end of the day, we can not pick a definitive winner because it mostly depends on the user’s needs. Oppo Find X2 Lite has a great design and an AMOLED display, as well as very nice rear cameras and more RAM. Huawei P40 Lite offers higher charging speeds and reverse charging, as well as a great chipset. Motorola Moto G 5G Plus has pretty nice cameras and longer battery life, but in its base configuration, it has just 4/64 GB. Which one would you pick?

You can actually find four last-generation 5G phones with price tags inferior to €400 in the European market. In this article, we will compare three of them: Moto G 5G Plus, Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G, and Realme X50 5G. We excluded the Huawei P40 Lite 5G because we expect it to be less popular as it lacks Google services out of the box. Note that the Realme X50 5G sold in the European market is actually the device known in China as the Realme X50m 5G, while the Chinese Realme X50 5G has different specifications.

Design

The front panel of the Moto G 5G Plus looks very attractive because instead of sporting a pill-shaped punch-hole for the dual selfie camera (like the Realme X50 5G) it sports separate holes. And it is even splash resistant. But the Moto G 5G Plus has a plastic design, that is why I personally prefer the Realme X50 5G and its glass back. I do not like the big camera module of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G and it comes with a classic waterdrop notch instead of a punch hole. But it is thinner and lighter than its two rivals, so do not underestimate it.

Display

High refresh rate or AMOLED: this is the question. Realme X50 5G gives you an amazing 120 Hz refresh rate, something you can not even find on a lot of flagships. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G sports an AMOLED display with the HDR10+ certification for an amazing image quality even on streaming platforms. So, do you prefer having a smoother viewing experience or a higher image quality with brilliant colors and deeper blacks? The choice is up to you. The Moto G 5G Plus has an IPS display and a 90 Hz refresh rate, so you should discard it.

Hardware/Software

Motorola Moto G 5G Plus, Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G, and Realme X50 5G are powered by the Snapdragon 765 (Moto G) and 765G (X50 and Mi 10 Lite) mobile platforms. It is an amazing upper-midrange chipset with an integrated 5G modem supporting fifth generation networks in all their frequencies. Motorola Moto G 5G Plus offers max 6 GB of RAM but it has a micro SD slot. Realme X50 5G and Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G lack the expandable storage, but they feature a higher amount of RAM in their higher-end versions: up to 8 GB. Android 10 is naturally out of the box, but on the Moto G 5G Plus you do not get a highly-customized user interface: instead, it has a nearly-stock Android version.

Camera

On the paper, Motorola Moto G 5G Plus is equipped with the most advanced cameras. On the rear side, it has a main sensor with a brighter focal aperture, as well as a better macro camera. Further, it is the only one with an ultrawide dual front camera (the resolutions are 16 and 8 MP respectively for the main front snapper and the ultrawide lens). Right after, we got the Realme X50 Pro 5G which still comes with a dual front camera, but it has a depth sensor instead of the ultrawide lens found on the Moto G 5G Plus.

Battery

The battery of the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus is a lot bigger than the ones found on the Realme X50 5G and the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. So it will surely last more on a single charge. With the Realme X50 5G, you get a faster charging technology with a 30W power.

Price

All these handsets are priced just €350 in the global market, but you can actually find the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite at very interesting street prices: its price dropped below €300. But if we exclude the display, the winner of this comparison is the Moto G 5G Plus due to its much bigger battery and better cameras. Just note it has a slightly weaker chipset.

I still miss it and it is one of my favorite Android smartphones. The Moto G line has evolved over the years and today marks another milestone for it as Motorola unveils the first model with support for 5G. Called the Moto G 5G Plus, the phone sticks to the series’ tradition of offering value for money.

Moto G 5G Plus Design

The Moto G 5G Plus has a double punch hole in its display for two selfie cameras. Unlike other phones we have seen that have a large pill-shaped hole for their dual front-facing cameras, the Moto G 5G Plus has two separate holes. The phone tries to keep the bezels slim but the chin is slightly thicker than the rest.

On the back of the phone is a squircle camera housing that is home to four camera sensors. There is a long LED flash designed like a Xenon flash flanking the setup on the right.

The Motorola batwing logo sits in the middle but it doesn’t double as a fingerprint scanner in this case. The Moto G 5G Plus comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that is buried under the power button.

The phone comes in Surfing Blue with a beautiful diamond-patterned finish on the back and a water-repellent design.

Moto G 5G Plus Specifications

The Moto G 5G Plus has a 6.7-inch CinemaVision FHD+ (1080 x 2520) display with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support.

Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There is also a 6GB RAM version with 128GB of storage. The phone has a dedicated MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.

The Moto G 5G Plus has a 48MP f/1.7 1.6µm primary camera on the back. It also has a 5MP f/2.2 macro camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle lens, and a 2MP f/2.2 depth camera. Up in front is a 16MP f/2.0 main camera paired with an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera for wide-angle selfies.

The camera app is packed with lots of features such as best shot, manual mode (for front and back cameras), sample color, live filter, night vision, portrait lighting, and Google Lens integration.

There is a 5000mAh battery under the hood that should last up to 2 days depending on usage. It supports 20W TurboPower fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The Moto G 5G Plus has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and also has support for Face Unlock. There is an audio jack at the bottom and the spec sheet says it has NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, dual SIM support (nano only), and a dedicated Google Assistant button.

Motorola ships it with My UX based on Android 10 with features such as Moto Display, Moto Actions, and Moto Gametime Moto Audio.

Moto G 5G Plus Price and Availability

The phone is priced at €349 for the 64GB version and €399 for the 128GB version. It will go on sale in Europe tomorrow and Motorola has promised it will be announced in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, the US will not be getting it. However, there will be another Motorola phone with a price tag under $500 launching there later this year.

It is speculated that the company will be announcing the Moto G 5G and Moto G 5G Plus as its first 5G-ready G-series smartphones. Recently, the XT2075-3 Motorola phone was certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. It was initially believed that it could be coming to the market as Motorola Edge Lite, but later on it was revealed that it could be coming to the market as Moto G 5G Plus. Some more details of the smartphone have appeared once again through its FCC and TUV Rheinland listings. Also, the handset has appeared on the Geekbench marking platform.

The FCC listing states that the XT2075-3 phone supports 5G, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS and Galileo. The TUV Rheinland listing reveals that the phone is packed with a 5,000mAh battery with 4,700mAh rated capacity. The handset will be coming with support for 20W rapid charging.

There is some confusion regarding the XT2075-3 that said to be codenamed as ‘Nairobi.’ It is speculated that it may even launch as Moto G 5G in the U.S. It may debut in some market as Moto G 5G Plus. Probably, the phone could be launching through Verizon in the U.S. as Motorola Edge Lite.

The text mentioned in the identifier field suggests that it could be featuring the Snapdragon 765G SoC. The Geekbench 5 listing further reveals that it has 4 GB of RAM and it runs on Android 10 OS. In the single-core test of Geekbench 5, the handset recorded a score of 596. It scored 1872 in the multi-core test.
