Motorola has been updating its flagships with Android 11 OS lately. Latest one to get it was the Motorola razr 5G. Today is the turn for the Motorola Edge smartphone.

Motorola Edge+

As per a post on a Telegram group(via Piunikaweb), the Dual-SIM model of the standard Motorola Edge with a model number XT2063-3-DS is getting an OTA update in Brazil. This update has a firmware version RPD31.Q4U-39-26-4 and a size of about 2.3GB.

Although there are a lot of devices yet to be updated to the Android 11 according to Motorola’s list, it’s better late than never for the older flagships. In line with that, the Motorola Edge is now getting the latest OS features and it should include the latest security patch as well.

Do note that the update is for Brazil and the Dual-SIM variant, so the users in other regions should wait till the company itself expands the OTA to the respective markets. Motorola began the Android 11 rollout surprisingly with the Motorola G Pro.

Later it brought to devices like the Motorola Edge+(Verizon), Moto G8 & G8 Power. Coming back, the Motorola Edge, which launched last year with Android 10 out of the box, is getting its first major Android upgrade.

That said, we aren’t sure it would get the next Android 12 upgrade like the Edge+ as it has a mid-range Snapdragon 765G chipset. Either way, if you are someone living in Brazil, you can check if your device has got the Android 11 update from Settings > System > Advanced > System update.
