Flip phones have been in fashion ever since they first hit the market. I’m sure a lot of you remember how popular the Moto Razr series was, back in the early 2000s. During that period, most phones were flip phones, and it felt really cool to just flick it open. Indeed, flip phones were a fashion icon right from the beginning. And with this form factor getting back to being cool, we are seeing a lot more options in the market.

Even the rise of full, touch screen devices, couldn’t put them out of business. In fact, with the advent of foldable smartphones, there are very interesting smartphones with flip form factor in the 2022 market.

So, let’s take a look at the best flip phones you can buy in 2022. Most of the phones in the list are targeted at the low-end, budget segment, but if you want something a lot more premium and future-ready, there are a couple of foldable too.

Nokia 2720 V Flip

We decided to start with a Nokia device, a brand that was once the king of the phone market. Last year, the company announced the 4G Nokia 2720 Flip, targeted at flip-phone lovers who don’t want to miss out on the high-speed 4G network. So it comes with popular services like Facebook, Whatsapp, and can even access Google apps like Maps and YouTube.

The phone comes with a 1.3” external screen for time, date, and notifications, while features a slightly larger 2.8” QVGA display for the main content. It also comes with 11 hours of talktime, all thanks to its 1500mAh removable (yes, we said removable) battery. Given its 4G connectivity, note that the phone can also be used as a 4G hotspot for your laptop or tablet.

The Nokia 2720 V Flip brings the right blend of 4G connectivity and flip form factor, making it a good option for those looking for a decent flip phone on a budget.

Alcatel GO Flip V

Here’s another budget flip phone option for you – the Alcatel GO Flip V, that comes with LTE connectivity. The phone looks very similar to budget flip phones in the market and features a small external display and a larger 2.8-inch color display inside. As expected, the display isn’t touchscreen, but the keypad should do a good job for typing in your short mails or messages.

Like the Nokia 2720, the GO Flip V is good for basic tasks like making phone calls, and messages. Note that the phone does have GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, but the use case scenario for these new-age connectivity options would be limited.

That said, if you want a basic phone or a secondary device, the Alcatel GO Flip V can be a good option under $150.

Motorola RAZR 5G

The Razr 5G makes it come back in the form of a foldable. So the phone retains the iconic flip design of the old days but brings in the smarts of a 2022 smartphone. It comes with a relatively large 2.8-inch external screen along with a foldable 6-inch internal display that transforms it into a regular 2022 smartphone.

While the phone is more than a year old, it comes with a pretty decent Qualcomm SM7250 Snapdragon 765G processor with up to 8GB of RAM. It has all the important features of a new-age smartphone, including a 48MP rear camera, and a fingerprint sensor. Battery life isn’t its best feature, as 2800mAh capacity with 15W is nowhere near the capacities we see on smartphones these days.,

That said, the phone is often available at good discounts and will be a cheaper alternative to the Galaxy Z Flip, which we talk about in the next section.

Galaxy Z Flip3

If you are looking for a flip phone that brings the best of both worlds, i.e. the smartphone and the flip phone market, look no further than the Galaxy Z Flip3. Coming in a number of attractive colors, the phone comes with a large 6.7-inch internal display and a 1.9-inch external screen, offering an unfolded form factor very close to today’s smartphones. But there’s more. It also has one of the best processors of 2021, the Snapdragon 888 with up to 8GB of RAM, dual 12MP rear cameras, side-mounted fingerprint, a decent 3300mAh battery with 15W, and finally IPX8 certification.

You really get the best of both worlds with the Galaxy Z Flip3, and if you have the budget upwards of $1000, look no further than this phone in this form factor.

Kyocera DuraXV Extreme

Kyocera is a popular name among rugged phone enthusiasts, but many of you may not know that the company has a rugged flip phone on the market. Given its durability-focused design, you can basically toss it on the ground, wash it with soap, or do whatever you want with the phone and it will still survive. The company notes that the phone is certified for military spec 810G, so it can operate between -4 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and is water, dust, heat, and shock resistant.

On the outside, the phone has a 1-inch display while on the inside, you get a 2.6-inch 320 x 240 pixel display. Note that like other rugged devices, this model also features 4 dedicated programmable hardware buttons on its body. On the software end, it runs on a lite version of Android and only features basic apps like messaging, and mails. It will last you around 8 hours, which isn’t much, but it is not surprising given that flip phones generally have a small battery.

Given its rugged form factor, the phone is more expensive than the Nokia, Alcatel options we mentioned above. But if you want a flip phone that can practically survive anywhere, the Kyocera DuraXV is your best bet.

Nokia 8110 Banana Phone

The Nokia 8110 is not exactly a flip phone, but has a form factor that is nearly as unique as the phones in the list above. What’s more, with KaiOS onboard and 4G connectivity, it is smarter than most flip phones on this list. Did we mention that it runs apps like YouTube, Outlook, Gmail, Google Maps, and even Google Search?

So if you are looking for a phone with a unique form factor, it’s worth considering the Nokia 8110 Banana phone!

So these were the best Flip Phones of 2022. If you think we missed any interesting flip phones from this list, do let us know in the comments down below.

Earlier today, we reported that Flipkart is selling the Google Pixel 4a at a discounted price tag in India as part of the eCommerce giant’s ongoing ‘Big Saving Days’ sale. Now, we are back again with two more stellar deals for people looking to buy a foldable smartphone.

Foldable smartphones are expensive. But not anymore, at least for the time being in India. Flipkart, one of the largest online retailers in the country has currently listed the Motorola razr and the Motorola razr 5G for never-before-seen price tags.

The two clamshell foldable smartphones from the Lenovo-owned brand are being sold for the following prices in India.

• Motorola razr – ₹54,999
• Motoorla razr 5G – ₹89,999

This offer is only valid until May 7. Following that, the price of these foldables will increase to ₹74,999 and ₹1,09,999 respectively. Hence, if you buy now, you will be saving ₹20,000.

That’s not all, interested customers can further lower the price by using additional bank offers. Also, they can buy a Google Nest Mini, Xiaomi Mi Smart Speaker, or a Lenovo Smart Clock Essential at only ₹1,999.

That said, it is worth noting that foldables are different from regular smartphones. They may require extra care. Hence, invest only if you understand the risks associated with them.

The Motorola razr 5G is the company’s second foldable smartphone after the Motorola razr 2019. This handset debuted with Android 10 in September 2020. Now, months later, it has started receiving the Android 11 update.

Last December, Motorola published a list of devices that will be updated to Android 11. However, the company did not reveal when these smartphones will be getting the update.

Unsurprisingly, being a premium handset, the Motorola razr 5G is eligible for this update and the device has now started receiving it as well. According to an automated Telegram channel called Moto Updates Tacker (via PiunikaWeb), the razr 5G Android 11 update is currently live in Japan with build number RPS31.Q1-40-17-12.

As of now, it is not known when this update will be available in other regions. But it should be rolled out to more users across the world in the coming weeks.

Despite revealing the list of eligible devices in December, Lenovo-owned Motorola began seeding out Android 11 stable update only in late January starting with Moto G Pro. The update was later rolled out to Moto G8 and Moto G8 Power last week.

Apart from the above-mentioned four Motorola smartphones, the Verizon Motorola Edge+ is also receiving the Android 11 update right now.

In 2019, Motorola launch a wide range of smartphones in various markets. By launching the Motorola Edge and Edge+ also returned to launch flagship phones this year. Today, the company confirmed the names of the smartphones that are eligible to receive the Android 11 OS upgrade.

Among the various phones last year by Motorola, the Android 11 OS update will be only made available to the Motorola Razr (2019), Motorola One Action, Motorola One Vision, and Motorola One Hyper. The list does not include phones like the Moto G7 series, Moto G8 Plus, G8 Play, E6 series, Z4, and One Zoom.

Among the phones launched this year, the Motorola Razr 5G, Motorola Edge, Motorola Edge+, Motorola One 5G, Motorola One Fusion, Motorola One Fusion+, Moto G8, Moto G8 Power, Moto G 5G, Moto G 5G Plus, Moto G Fast, Moto G Power, Moto G Pro, Moto G Stylus, Moto G9, Moto G9 Play, Moto G9 Plus, and Moto G9 Power are mentioned in the list of devices that will be treated with Android 11 OS update. The only Lenovo-branded phone on the list is the Lenovo K12 Note that debuted in the recent past in Saudi Arabia.

The Moto E (2020), Moto E6s (2020), Moto G8 Power Lite, Motorola One Vision, and Moto E7 phones that went official this year are not mentioned in the list. Hence, it is unclear whether these devices will receive the Android 11 OS update or not.

Lenovo did not confirm when it will begin rolling out the Android 11 OS update. Probably, the flagship and upper mid-range phones could be the first phones that will be updated to the newest version of Android. Earlier today (15th December 2020), the official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website, of Motorola announced that its Gold variant of the Razr 5G will be available for pre orders starting from 22nd December 2020.

Looking at the promotional image poster, we can observe that the device in question is a Motorola Razr 5G model but features a Gold color scheme. This gold color tint covers the rear of the smartphone, along with the sides and bottom. This model is exclusively available in China alone, with its official name being Motorola Razr 5G Tian Xuan Gold.

The Motorola Razr 5G was officially announced back in September and featured a 6.2 inch foldable display that featured a clamshell design. Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor runs the device, which is powered by a 2,800mAh battery pack. The device also houses a 2.7 inch secondary display on the outside, with its body being built from 7000 series aluminum for the frame and a stainless steel hinge.

Despite being a special edition, the Tian Xuan Gold variant is identical in terms of specs and also sports the 48 + 12 megapixel dual camera setup on the rear and 20 megapixel on the front. The company will begin taking preorders from 22nd December 2020, so for those interested, you can check out this luxury smartphone, which will likely arrive with a hefty price tag.

Lenovo-owned Motorola has today confirmed that the company is all set to start selling the Gold colored model of the Motorola Razr 5G foldable smartphone in China from tomorrow, i.e., on 15th December.

So far, the device was available in only Black color option, since its introduction a couple of months ago. The Gold-colored Motorola Razr 5G, which packs 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, costs 12,499 yuan, which roughly converts to $1,912.

In most foldable smartphones available in the market right now, there’s a crease on the display from where the phone folds. But Motorola’s phone has an elastic metal plate on both sides, pulling the display tight, that can keep the screen flat.

The smartphone features a 6.2-inch OLED display while the secondary screen measures 2.7-inch gOLED screen. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, offering 5G connectivity.

In the camera department, there’s a 48MP sensor on the back and a 20MP snapper at the front for taking selfies. The phone supports a TOF depth camera, portrait HDR, AF autofocus, optical image stabilization, AI portrait super night view, and other features. The device is powered by a 2,800mAh battery that supports 15W charging.

As for the phone’s durability, the company has promised that the hinge is designed to last for over 200,000 folds, which means that if the phone is folded and unfolded 100 times a day, then there won’t be any issues for more than five years.

The Motorola Razr 5G packs some significant upgrades over its predecessor but the foldable phone is still quite expensive when compared to other foldable phones such as the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and even non-foldable phones. However, now may be the best time to pick up the phone as Amazon has slashed the price.

As seen on the retail giant’s US site, the Motorola Razr 5G (2020) can be purchased for just $999.99. That is $400 off the retail price and a huge discount. The phone is available unlocked, so you can use it with any of the major US carriers. It can be purchased in Blush Gold, Liquid Mercury, and Polished Graphite.

For $999, you get a phone with a 6.2-inch foldable OLED primary display, a 2.7-inch g-OLED Quick View secondary display, a Snapdragon 765G processor with a built-in 5G modem, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, a 48MP primary rear camera, a 20MP selfie camera, and a 2800mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging, and Android 10 with Motorola’s My UX on top.

If a foldable doesn’t appeal to you but you still want a 5G Motorola smartphone, the Motorola Edge is also heavily discounted on Amazon and on Motorola’s own official website.

The phone which launched for $699.99 can now be picked up for just $399.99! That is even cheaper than the newly announced Motorola One 5G that is priced at $444.99 and has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Personally, the Edge is a recommended buy over the Razr 5G as it not only has the same processor but packs more cameras and a much bigger battery with faster charging.

The Motorola Edge which comes in Solar Black has a 6.7-inch curved OLED display with an FHD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a punch hole at the top left corner of the screen that is home to a 25MP camera.

The Snapdragon 765G processor is paired with 6GB of RAM but you also get 256GB of storage which can be expanded via a MicroSD card slot. There are four cameras on the back which include a 64MP primary camera, a 16MP ultrawide angle camera, an 8MP telephoto camera, and a Time of Flight sensor.

The Motorola Edge also has stereo speakers, an audio jack, an in-display fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and a 4500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It also runs Android 10 out of the box.

You can grab the Motorola Razr 5G and Motorola Edge on Amazon or pick up the Edge on Motorola’s official website.

Motorola unveiled razr 5G in early September in the US but it will be going on sale only from October 2 (tomorrow). On the other hand, the company’s second foldable smartphone is already on sale in China. Now, this device has been officially confirmed to launch in India on October 5 and similar to its predecessor, it will be exclusive to Flipkart.

There aren’t many foldable smartphones in the market. Also, Samsung and Motorola are the only companies to sell them globally in more regions compared to Huawei and Royole who just recently launched its second device called FlexPai 2.

That said, though there are four main players in the foldable game Samsung is the most successful company, followed by Motorola. The latter’s first product – Motorola razr 2019 was flawed with so many shortcomings. But thankfully, the company fixed most of that handset’s problems with its successor Motorola razr 5G.

The new model not only bumps up the processor to Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G but also RAM (8GB), storage (256GB), cameras (rear: 48MP, front: 20MP), and battery (2,800mAh). Also, the design is slightly different with minimal squeaking sound when folding and unfolding the display.

Having said that, the first razr foldable smartphone launched in India for ₹1,24,999 ($1,702). We expect the price of the new model to be identical to the original in the country. That’s because it is priced similar to its predecessor in other regions.

Apparently, the company will be also unveiling a television, refrigerator, and air conditioner on October 5 in India ahead of Diwali festive season.

The new generation of clamshell foldable phones is here! After releasing the first-ever clamshell phones with a foldable display in 2019, Motorola and Samsung launched their successors and brought the support to 5G connectivity even in this innovative segment. If you only look at the names of the new handsets, you might think that they are just variants of the previous models with a 5G modem inside and the same specifications. But this is not the truth: the new Motorola Razr 5G and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G are very important upgrades compared to the previous generation. Let’s discover all the upgrades done and the differences between the two handsets.

Motorola Razr 5G vs Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G

Design

The Motorola Razr 5G wins the design battle because of its iconic design which reminds of the old Razr feature phones. It has a more compact body, a more original look, and even amazing build quality. The Motorola Razr 5G is built very well and it includes a glass back protected by Gorilla Glass 5, a frame made of aluminum 7000 series, and a stainless steel hinge. It is even a water-repellent phone, so it offers some kind of protection against water despite being a foldable phone. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is a beautiful and well-built phone as well, but it can not compete with the Motorola Razr 5G when it comes to aesthetics.

Display

If we talk about the internal foldable displays, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is actually superior. Its internal foldable display with the Dynamic AMOLED technology has a higher 1080p resolution and the HDR10+ certification which is not present on the Motorola Razr 5G. Instead, if we talk about the external displays, Motorola Razr 5G is way better: the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G houses a very small cover display which does not offer so many ways to interact. With the Motorola Razr 5G, you can do a lot of things without opening the phone thanks to its wide external display.

Specs & Software

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G beats the Motorola Razr 5G 10-0 when it comes to the hardware department. It has a stronger chipset: the Snapdragon 865+ which is actually the best processor in the market, while the Snapdragon 765G found on the Razr 5G is just a mid-range SoC. The Snapdragon 865+ of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Motorola Razr 5G run Android 10 out of the box.

Camera

Both Razr 5G and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G are pretty nice camera phones with OIS providing a good photo quality, but they are not top camera phones. Among these twos, I would go for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G because it offers a secondary ultrawide lens and because it is able to record better videos and shoot better selfies. Unfortunately, you do not get secondary sensors paired with the main rear camera of the Motorola Razr 5G. With both the handsets, you can click selfies with the rear camera by using the secondary display.

Battery

The battery of the Motorola Razr 5G is very small compared with the other Android smartphones released in 2020. The reasons are its small dimensions and the fact that it is a clamshell foldable phone: there is no space for a huge battery. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is below-average too, but it has more space for a bigger 3300 mAh battery. And with its efficient components, it is enough for a day of moderate use. It even supports wireless charging.

Price

The prices of the Motorola Razr 5G and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G vary depending on the market. The former is priced €1599 in Europe and $1399 in the U.S. while the latter is priced €1599 in Europe and $1449 in the U.S. If the design (and usability while the phone is folded) is your main concern, then you should go for the Razr 5G. But for all the rest, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is a way better phone. It has a superior display, flagship-class hardware (you get midrange hardware with the Razr 5G and that is very disappointing for several potential users), a great camera, and even wireless charging.

After the arrival of foldable phones to the market, a lot of innovative devices started coming to the shelves. In 2020, among the best smartphones, you do not only get those silly rectangles since a lot of new form factors started to emerge. An example is the LG Wing, with its dual rotating display and its Swivel Mode. This year Motorola even launched the Razr 5G: the evolution of its first foldable phone which is reminiscent of the iconic Razr series. Even Microsoft is back to the smartphone market and with a new form factor: the Microsoft Surface Duo is a foldable phone which is able to rotate by 360 degrees and supports the Surface Pen! Here is a comparison between three of the most innovative phones of the year.

LG Wing vs Motorola Razr 5G vs Microsoft Surface Duo

Design

If we only consider the look, Motorola Razr 5G is definitely the best one. It is a clamshell phone with a foldable display built with premium material which reminds you of the iconic feature phones from the Motorola Razr lineup. But if you want to find the most useful form factor for multimedia and productivity, then LG Wing and Microsoft Surface Duo are more interesting options. With the Swivel Mode, the former can be used as a gimbal for better stabilization, it can split apps into two screens or even open two apps at the same time in two displays for a better multi-tasking experience. On the other hand, Microsoft Surface Duo has a dual display with a folding hinge that can turn it into a tablet. It can open two apps side-by-side for an even more amazing multi-tasking experience, it can be rotated by up to 360 degrees to reach the “phone mode” and it even supports the Surface Pen stylus!

Display

The AMOLED displays of the Microsoft Surface Duo are the most interesting panels because they come with a higher resolution and they can be positioned side-by-side in order to provide a tablet-like experience. Further, as mentioned above, you get the support to Surface Pen for handwriting and drawing, just like the Samsung Galaxy Note series! With the LG Wing, you get a rotating display with still high resolutions, while the Motorola Razr 5G offers an internal smartphone-sized foldable display and a mini external display to check notifications, shoot selfies, and a few more actions.

Hardware/Software

The most powerful hardware department belongs to the Microsoft Surface Duo which is fueled by the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform providing better CPU and GPU performance than the Snapdragon 765G. But unlike the Motorola Razr 5G and the LG Wing, Microsoft Surface Duo lacks 5G connectivity. With the LG Wing, you get 5G, up to 8 GB RAM, up to 256 GB of native storage, and even a micro SD slot to expand the internal storage. Android 10 is out of the box on each of these handsets.

Camera

LG Wing, Motorola Razr 5G, and Microsoft Surface Duo can be considered mid-range camera phones. The best one is undoubtedly the LG Wing which sports the most complete camera setup. It includes a main 64 MP sensor with OIS and two ultrawide sensors, as well as the best microphones with ASMR mode. Even the front camera is better with its 32 MP resolution. Right after, we got the Motorola Razr 5G with its 48 MP main camera and a 20 MP snapper for selfies.

Battery

The LG Wing has the biggest battery, it lasts more on a single charge and it is the only one to support wireless charging. Right after, we got the Microsoft Surface Duo with a 3577 mAh unit. The Motorola Razr 5G has a small and below-average 2800 mAh battery because it is a compact foldable phone.

Price

We still do not know the price of the LG Wing, while Motorola Razr 5G and Microsoft Surface Duo retail about €1500/$1400 and €1200/$1400 respectively. If you want the best design, the Motorola Razr 5G is definitely the best alternative, especially for nostalgic users. But if you prefer having a better user experience, then you should discard it. Motorola announced the Motorola Razr flip phone with a foldable screen in November 2019. The device arrived as a renewed version of the Motorola Razr feature phone series from the yesteryear. The Razr phone that arrived last year was criticized for a couple of things such as its hefty pricing, a dated processor, and lackluster cameras. The device also lacked support for 5G connectivity. Today, the company is all set to announce a new edition of the phone with 5G support. Ahead of the launch, Winfuture.de has shared all the entire specifications of the Motorola Razr 5G along with its pricing for the European markets.

Motorola Razr 5G specifications and features (Rumored)

While the Lenovo-owned company has further improved the design of the Motorola Razr 5G to solve the design-related issues that came with the predecessor model, it appears quite like the yesteryear Razr feature phone. It has a 6.2-inch P-OLED panel that offers 2142 x 876 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio. Like the last year’s model, the OLED screen of the Razr 5G continues to feature a notch. When unfolded, the device measures 168.6 x 72.6 x 7.9mm, and it measures 90.8 x 72.6 x 16mm when folded.

The Motorola Razr 2019 came with a selfie camera of 5-megapixel and it came with a 16-megapixel rear camera.  The Razr 5G features a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and its rear is fitted with a 48-megapixel camera that comes with f/1.7 aperture, OIS, and LED flash. The flip phone comes preinstalled with Android 10 OS.

Now, ahead of the official launch, a 360-degree render of the upcoming flagship smartphone has been shared by Evan Blass, giving us a clear look at the design of the foldable device.

Unlike other foldable smartphones, Motorola opted for a clamshell design and it seems that the same form-factor will continue for the upcoming device. But it seems that the company has smoothed out notches and has ditched the fingerprint sensor.

The screen appears to be bigger than its predecessor, with reports hinting at display being somewhere around 6.2-inch to 6.7-inch. Previous leaks indicate that the phone could come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 SoC.

Motorola has been long rumored to launch a new razr foldable smartphone in 2020 with 5G connectivity. This handset is in the leaks for months in terms of a spec sheet,  renders, and whatnot. Now, live images of this upcoming phone have popped up on Weibo confirming some of the aspects from previous leaks.

Motorola is one of the few companies other than Samsung and Huawei to sell foldable smartphones. The Lenovo-owned brand with American origin is known for its RAZR lineup of clamshell phones from the 2000s. Hence, the company continued to use the same branding for its foldable smartphones but without capitalizing the letters. The first one in the series was announced last year and went on sale early this year.

But this handset never hit the shelves in China as the carriers in the country don’t offer eSIM service which is the only thing this device has. The pandemic could also be termed as another reason for the phone to not launch in the region.

However, the live images of the Motorola razr 2020 come directly from a Chinese investor (via MySmartPrice). Looks like Lenovo showcased the phone to some investors over a dinner (going by the background) in its home country.

The investor posted the pictures on Weibo (terrible mistake) with a caption, “Who remembers “Hello Moto”? It has evolved like this now……” (translated from Chinese).

EDITOR’S PICK: The next Motorola Razr will launch in September as per GM of Lenovo South Africa

From the images, we can notice that Motorola’s second foldable smartphone will have a slightly larger outer display and camera bump. Also, there’s no fingerprint sensor at the bottom chin. Above all, the design and color (Mercury Silver) of the handset match exactly to the renders leak.

Further, though this phone is said to be called Motorola razr 5G codenamed “odyssey” (aka “smith”), the images show it to on 4G network. One might ask how could the device be on the network in China as the country does not have eSIM services. That’s because the new model features a nano-SIM card slot, in addition to eSIM support, according to the specs leak.

It is expected to feature 6.2-inch (or 6.7-inch) foldable OLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G platform, 256GB internal storage, 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 primary sensor, 20MP selfie camera, 2845mAh battery, 18W fast charging and Android 10.

Last year, Motorola launched the Razr flip phone with a flexible OLED screen. The phone was adjudged to be a cool phone but with some inferior specs compared to existing flagship models expected in 2020. However, it was well-received among fans and that has prompted Motorola to hatch plans to release the RAZR 2020 which is already in the works.

Right now, renders of the RAZR 2020 has leaked online, thanks to tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks). According to the tipster, the phone bears the codename Odyssey and is also known as RAZR 5G. That is obviously because it will be powered by a Snapdragon 765G SoC which supports 5G connectivity.

The renders come in a Mercury Silver colour which confirms the rumour that the clamshell phone may arrive in a Mercury Silver colour edition. The designs similar in all the visible aspects to the RAZR launched in 2019.

The Motorola Razr 5G is expected to house a 6.2-inch Flex View P-OLED flexible display. It may come with a secondary Quick View G-OLED screen of 2.7 inches. The Lenovo-owned company is expected to launch the Razr 5G with improved cameras as compared to its 4G LTE variant. Instead of a 5-megapixel front camera, the Razr 5G is likely to house a 20-megapixel selfie snapper. The 16-megapixel rear camera could be swapped for a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 sensor.

Further, the RAZR 2020 was certified by 3C in China showing the presence of 18W fast charge support as against 15W on its predecessor. The Razr 5G is also expected to house a 2,845mAh battery as against a 2,510mAh battery on the Razr 4G.

There is no official word yet as to when the 5G foldable smartphone will be launched.
