The Redmi K series has been a big success. While the series began with the Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro, and Redmi K20 Pro Premium, Redmi went full throttle with the Redmi K30 series which has 8 different models. News of the next-gen model, the Redmi K40 series, has been surfacing for more than five months now and the latest is a set of live photos of the standard model.

The images which are alleged to be of the Redmi K40 were posted on Weibo earlier today and then reposted on Twitter by the Indian leaker, Sudhanshu Ambhore. They show the new Redmi K series phone with a new design on both sides.

The Redmi K40 is shown with a centered punch hole, a shift from the pill-shaped hole on the right side of the Redmi K30’s screen. We do not know if this design will be uniform across all models of the Redmi K40 series as the models of the Redmi K30 series have various designs as listed below:

The back of the phone has also been redesigned. There are four cameras just like that of the predecessor but the camera housing and arrangement of the sensor are different. The housing is a rectangle with curved corners and it has a large sensor at the top, two small ones below it, and another large one at the bottom. The photos also show the Redmi K40 with an audio jack at the bottom, flanking the USB-C port on the left while a speaker grill is on the right.

It has been reported that the Redmi K40 will be announced this month. It is expected to have a high refresh rate, a Snapdragon processor, and support for a faster charging technology. It should also run Android 11 out of the box.
