Last week, HMD Global launched the Nokia G60 5G smartphone in the Indian market. The device is built by Nokia with a focus on sustainability, as it is claimed to be the most eco-friendly G-series smartphone. HMD Global has just launched a new Nokia branded smartphone in the Indian market. It is the new Nokia G60 5G, which is built with a focus on sustainability and also comes with some notable specs. So here are all the details.

Talking about the design of the device first, the company placed an emphasis on durability in mind and built the device with a 100 percent recycled polycarbonate back panel. This makes it the most eco friendly G series smartphone from the brand. Furthermore, it also has a 60 percent recycled polycarbonate frame as well. The rear also features a camera module with a bump while the front has a water drop notch display that has a 6.58 inch panel that offers FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It also sports a Corning Gorilla Glas 5 for protection.

Under the hood, the Nokia G60 5G is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC thta is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The handset is powered by a 4,500mAh battery pack that supports up to 20W fast charging. The primary focus of the device is to be sustainable and last for years. This is also complimented by the “3-3-2” promise, which means that the device will get three years of major OS upgrades, with monthly security updates, and a two year warranty as well.

Nokia is set to launch its first-ever 5G phone in India soon. The HMD Global brand licensee had announced a deal with Reliance Jio for 5G deployment earlier this month. The Finnish brand’s first 5G-compatible phone in India is set to be the Nokia G60 5G. The device is listed on the Nokia India website with the full specification sheet. Only the pricing and availability details of the smartphone remain a mystery now.

The Nokia G60 5G was announced for the global market during the IFA 2022 event in September. The Indian variant will come with the same specifications. As per the official listing, the device has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display bearing an FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz, and 500 nits peak brightness. The screen is shielded with Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button.

On the imaging front, the Nokia G60 5G sports triple rear cameras. The setup comprises a 50MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth unit. There is an 8MP front-facing snapper for selfies.

Nokia X30 5G, Nokia G60 5G, & Nokia C31 announced

A smartphone made from 100% recycled aluminum and 65% recycled plastic is among three devices announced by HMD Global. The three Nokia phones are the Nokia X30 5G, G60 5G, and C31 smartphones. HMD Global says the X30 5G is the most environmentally friendly smartphone yet. The three Nokia smartphones were part of the lineup of products unveiled by the company during its IFA event.

All three models run on Android 12 out of the box, while the X30 5G and G60 5G will enjoy three years each of Android upgrades and monthly security updates. The package also includes an extended three-year warranty for the 5G models while the C31 gets two years of monthly security updates.

The Nokia X30 5G has a 6.43-inch 1080p FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 700 nits of peak brightness. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection and is powered by the Snapdragon 695 chip. The RAM/ storage configurations of the X30 5G are 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. The camera setup of the X30 5G includes a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a 16MP front-facing camera. It has a 4,200mAh battery with 33W fast charging, as well as IP67 protection.

In terms of pricing, the Nokia X30 5G will retail for equivalently $529, while the G60 5G costs around $319. The Nokia C31 comes at the rear at a price of $129. The three phones come in a couple of color combinations and will also enjoy the Nokia Circular subscription service from Q4, 2022.
