<p>Buying a smartphone under $500 in 2026 feels a bit like shopping in the middle aisle of a supermarket. You don’t walk in expecting luxury items, but suddenly there are plenty of surprisingly good things.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A few years ago, this price range meant making obvious compromises, such as a good-enough processor, average cameras, and software that aged quickly. Fortunately, things are quite different in 2026.</p>

<p>Phones in this segment now come with bright OLED displays, capable chipsets, and batteries that comfortably last a full day. Some even borrow features from devices that cost twice as much.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Here are the five best smartphones under $500 in March 2026.</p>

<h3><strong>Google Pixel 10a</strong></h3>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/google/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google</a>’s Pixel A-series has long been the go-to option for people who want a simple Android phone that just works. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-10a/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pixel 10a </a>continues that trend.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Like previous models in the series, the phone focuses heavily on software and camera processing. The camera hardware itself is relatively modest compared to competitors in this list, but Google’s image processing tends to make up for it.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Google-Pixel-10a-launch-specs-price.jpg?x44794" alt="Google-Pixel-10a-launch-specs-price" class="wp-image-727431" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Google-Pixel-10a-launch-specs-price.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Google-Pixel-10a-launch-specs-price-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Google-Pixel-10a-launch-specs-price-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Google-Pixel-10a-launch-specs-price-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Google-Pixel-10a-launch-specs-price-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Pixel 10a also benefits from Google’s version of Android, which is clean and free of unnecessary extras. The display is a 120Hz OLED panel with a sufficient 2000 nits of brightness.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Google is still using a year-old Tensor G4 chip under the hood. The rest of the Pixel 10 phones have a better Tensor G5 processor. That said, it can handle regular everyday tasks with ease.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The phone has a 5100mAh Li-Po battery with 30W wired, PD 3.0, and 10W wireless charging support.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For many buyers, the Pixel 10a is still the safe choice under $500. It’s not designed to stand out in every category, but it avoids major weaknesses.</p>

<h3><strong>Nothing Phone (4a) Pro</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nothing-phone-4a-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Phone (4a) Pro </a>is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothin</a>g’s brand new option for a phone under $500. It keeps the company’s recognizable design language while trying to feel more polished than earlier models.</p>

<p>The phone includes a new Glyph Matrix on the back, which is a circular LED display made up of 137 LEDs. It can show things like a timer, a stopwatch, and such.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price.jpg?x44794" alt="Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price" class="wp-image-729636" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Under the surface, the Phone (4a) Pro runs on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and features a 6.83-inch 144Hz AMOLED display with 5000 nits of peak brightness.</p>

<p>As for the camera system, you get a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C sensor for the main camera with optical image stabilization. This is paired with a 50MP Samsung JN5 periscope camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nothing’s software is also fairly clean, which helps the phone feel responsive. The Phone (4a) Pro is not the most powerful option here, but it’s arguably the one with the most personality.</p>

<h3><strong>OnePlus 15R</strong></h3>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus</a> has traditionally used its “R” series to deliver strong performance at lower prices, and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-15r/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">15R </a>follows the same idea.</p>

<p>The phone focuses on two things: speed and battery life. It runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 paired with a dedicated chip that enables 3200Hz of touch sampling rate.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking of which, it has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display that refreshes at 165Hz. This screen is also PWM capable, HDR 10+, and Dolby Vision certified with a peak brightness of 3600 nits.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus 15R" class="wp-image-721586" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus_15R_Review_GizmoChina_06.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Its biggest highlight, though, is the battery. The 15R includes a 7400mAh battery that can comfortably last through a full day and often stretch into a second day depending on usage. It supports 80W fast charging.&nbsp;</p>

<p>You also get a fairly decent camera specs of 50MP-megapixel Sony IMX906 main sensor with optical image stabilization, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. There is no dedicated telephoto camera here, so zoom relies on digital cropping.</p>

<h3><strong>Motorola Edge 70 Fusion</strong></h3>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola</a>’s Edge Fusion series has quietly become one of the more balanced options in the midrange market. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-edge-70-fusion/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Edge 70 Fusion </a>continues that pattern.</p>

<p>Rather than focusing on one standout feature, the phone aims for overall balance. It includes a capable Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a smooth6.78-inch curved OLED display, and a relatively clean version of Android 16.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The device carries a 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 68W fast charging, which the company claims can provide a full day’s usage with a short charge.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="571" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Edge-70-Fusion-green-1-1024x571.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729192" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Edge-70-Fusion-green-1-1024x571.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Edge-70-Fusion-green-1-300x167.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Edge-70-Fusion-green-1-768x428.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Edge-70-Fusion-green-1-696x388.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Edge-70-Fusion-green-1-1068x595.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Edge-70-Fusion-green-1-753x420.jpg 753w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Edge-70-Fusion-green-1.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Its camera hardware includes a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 710 primary camera with optical image stabilisation. The setup also includes a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera with macro support and a dedicated light sensor.</p>

<p>The Edge 70 Fusion is the most affordable option on this list. Its 8GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs 26,999 (~$300), the 8GB + 256GB version costs Rs 29,999 (~$330), and the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 32,999 (~$360).&nbsp;</p>

<h3><strong>Realme 16 Pro</strong></h3>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/realme/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Realme</a> often competes in the midrange market by focusing on big numbers in the spec sheet, and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-16-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">16 Pro</a> is no different.</p>

<p>One of the first things you notice is the battery. The phone includes a 700mAh battery, which can easily last more than a day with moderate use. It supports 80W wired charging.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Realme-16-Pro-1-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="" /></figure></div>

<p>On the front, it has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen can reach a whopping 6500 nits of peak brightness and is protected by AGC DT Star D+ glass.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Cameras include a 200MP main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide on the back. The front has a 50MP selfie camera. Powering everything is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max 5G chipset with an Arm Mali G615 GPU. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and all standard sensors.</p>

<h3><strong>The midrange market keeps getting better</strong></h3>

<p>Looking at these five phones together shows how much the midrange segment has evolved. Not long ago, phones under $500 required obvious compromises, slower processors, weaker cameras, or short software support.</p>

<p>That’s no longer always the case.</p>

<p>The Google Pixel 10a focuses on software and camera reliability. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro offers a design that stands apart from typical smartphones. The OnePlus 15R leans into performance and battery life. The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion delivers a balanced experience. And the Realme 16 Pro emphasizes large batteries and strong hardware specs.</p>

<p>None of them is perfect, but each one has a different interpretation of what a sub-$500 smartphone should be. Now, it&#8217;s up to you to decide which of these phones could be worth it for your money.</p>

<p>Both phones also feature redesigned rear lighting systems and arrive with Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. Nothing is promising three major OS updates and six years of security patches, matching the support window offered by the previous generation.</p>

<p>Here’s how the two new models differ.</p>

<h2><strong>Nothing Phone (4a)</strong></h2>

<p>The Nothing Phone (4a) retains the simpler design of its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nothing-phone-3a/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">predecessor</a>. The phone features a pill-shaped rear camera module and a new lighting system called the Glyph Bar on the back.</p>

<p>Glyph Bar places LEDs in a straight strip across the back. The bar is divided into six segments and contains 63 LEDs, along with the red recording indicator. The lights can reach up to 3,500 nits of brightness in three different levels, which is about 40% higher than the previous generation.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Launch-Specs-Price.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729639" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Launch-Specs-Price.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Launch-Specs-Price-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Launch-Specs-Price-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Launch-Specs-Price-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Launch-Specs-Price-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Inside, the phone runs on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/20/snapdragon-7s-gen-4-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 </a>chipset. While it technically succeeds the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 used previously, the performance improvement is relatively small—only about 7% per Nothing. It’s paired with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the front, it has a 6.78-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1,224 × 2,720 pixels and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness climbs to 4,500 nits, and the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Design.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729640" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Design.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Design-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Design-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Design-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Design-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Camera hardware is where the vanilla model slightly differs from the Pro. The main camera uses a 50-megapixel Samsung GN9 sensor with an f/1.88 lens and optical image stabilization. The rest of the camera setup mirrors the Pro model, including a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera.</p>

<p>The body uses a plastic frame and measures 8.55mm thick. It carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and features a 5,080mAh batterywith 50W wired charging support.</p>

<h3><strong>Price and availability</strong></h3>

<p>Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone (4a) start from today, and open sales will begin on March 13. The phone will be available through the <a href="https://nothing.tech/products/phone-4a?Colour=White&amp;Capacity=8%2B128GB" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">official website </a>and select retail partners. Here’s the price breakdown for EU, UK, and India:</p>

<ul><li>8/128GB: €350 / £350 / ₹32,000</li><li>8/256GB: €390 / ₹35,000&nbsp;</li><li>12/256GB: €430 / £400 /&nbsp; ₹38,000</li></ul>

<h2><strong>Nothing Phone (4a) Pro</strong></h2>

<p>Coming to the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, the most visible change is the Glyph Matrix. It is a circular LED display on the back of the phone made up of 137 LEDs. While that’s fewer than the 489 LEDs used in the flagship Glyph Matrix seen on Nothing Phone (3), the new version is larger and brighter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The circular area is also about 57 percent bigger, and the LEDs can reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Camera.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729637" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Camera.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Camera-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Camera-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Camera-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Camera-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Pro also upgrades the build quality with a metal unibody design, replacing the plastic frame used on the standard model. Despite the metal switch, the phone remains relatively light and is slimmer at 7.95mm thick.</p>

<p>It carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. Nothing says the phone can survive submersion in water up to 25cm for around 20 minutes.</p>

<p>Under the hood, the phone runs on the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/05/15/snapdragon-7-gen-4-mobile-platform-launched/#:~:text=Snapdragon%207%20Gen%204%20Brings,and%20200MP%20Camera%20Support%20%2D%20Gizmochina" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4</a> processor. Compared to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 used in the previous generation, the new chip promises around 27 percent faster CPU performance, 30 percent better graphics performance, and a significant 65 percent boost in AI tasks.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Launched.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729638" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Launched.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Launched-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Launched-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Launched-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Launched-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The device pairs the chip with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. To maintain sustained performance, Nothing has added a 5,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system.</p>

<p>The display is also larger and faster than the one on the standard model. The phone features a 6.83-inch OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,260 × 2,800 pixels. Its peak brightness reaches 5,000 nits, and the panel uses 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.</p>

<p>Camera hardware on the Pro includes a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C sensor for the main camera with optical image stabilization. The phone also includes a 50MP Samsung JN5 periscope camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, extendable to 7x using in-sensor zoom.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729636" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-launch-specs-price-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The ultra-wide camera remains unchanged from the previous model with an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor and a 120-degree field of view. On the front, the phone uses a 32MP selfie camera.</p>

<p>Like the standard model, the Pro includes a 5,080mAh battery with support for 50W wired charging.</p>

<h3><strong>Price and availability</strong></h3>

<p>Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro begin on March 13, with open sales starting on March 27. Surprise, surprise, it will also be available in the US. Here’s the pricing breakdown for EU, UK, India, and the US:</p>

<p>Ahead of the official launch on March 5, 2026, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/">Nothing</a> shared a teaser showing the rear of the Phone (4a) Pro as a dark silhouette, briefly lit up by a circular LED pattern. The short clip confirms that the phone will feature a Glyph Matrix, the circular LED array that first appeared on the flagship <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/01/nothing-phone-3-launch-specs-glyph-matrix-price-news/">Nothing Phone (3)</a>.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-1024x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729560" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-1536x1536.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-2048x2048.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-1920x1920.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HClAfJTXAAAd5ZX-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Phone (4a) Pro Glyph Matrix</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>On the Phone (3), the Glyph Matrix consisted of 489 micro-LEDs, allowing the phone to display fairly detailed animations, everything from notifications and timers to progress indicators and even pixel-style caller IDs.</p>

<p>The version coming to the Phone (4a) Pro, however, appears to be noticeably scaled down. Early information suggests the matrix may use around 137 micro-LEDs, a significant reduction from the flagship implementation.</p>

<p>That change has already sparked debate within the community. Discussions on platforms like Reddit and X show many fans wondering whether the reduced LED count will limit what the feature can actually do. With fewer lights, animations may not look as smooth, and complex icons or progress indicators could lose some detail.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="518" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-103852-1024x518.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729561" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-103852-1024x518.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-103852-300x152.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-103852-768x388.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-103852-1536x776.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-103852-696x352.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-103852-1068x540.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-103852-831x420.png 831w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-103852.png 1650w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Phone (3) Glyph Matrix</figcaption></figure>

<p>An animation circulating online, shared by X user @adi, appears to demonstrate the matrix in action. It shows familiar Glyph-style behaviors such as pulsing notification alerts and charging indicators. But compared to the Phone (3), the visuals do seem less detailed.</p>

<p>Another detail that remains unclear is the physical size of the matrix. The teaser doesn’t reveal whether the LED circle itself is smaller or simply uses fewer LEDs within the same space.</p>

<p>The base Phone (4a) takes a different approach altogether. Instead of the circular matrix, it features a Glyph Bar. By keeping the Glyph Matrix exclusive to the Pro model, Nothing is clearly trying to create a visual and functional gap between the two devices.</p>

<p>With the launch event scheduled for later today in many regions, we won’t have to wait long to see the full picture. Whether the scaled-down Glyph Matrix turns out to be a clever cost-saving tweak or a feature that feels watered down remains to be seen. Either way, the teaser has already done one thing successfully: it has people talking.</p>

<p>With the Nothing Phone (4a) series set to launch on March 5, the company has now confirmed at least one important detail: the new phones will run on Qualcomm&#8217;s Snapdragon chipsets.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/HBgy_hLbUAYJ3sa-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-727708" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/HBgy_hLbUAYJ3sa-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/HBgy_hLbUAYJ3sa-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/HBgy_hLbUAYJ3sa-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/HBgy_hLbUAYJ3sa-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/HBgy_hLbUAYJ3sa-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/HBgy_hLbUAYJ3sa-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/HBgy_hLbUAYJ3sa-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/HBgy_hLbUAYJ3sa.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Phone (4a) series chipset teaser</figcaption></figure>

<p>The confirmation came via a teaser post on X, where <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/">Nothing</a> shared an image featuring the Snapdragon logo and made it clear that both the Phone (4a) and the Phone (4a) Pro will use Qualcomm silicon. That continues the trend from the Phone (3a) series, which used the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. What hasn’t been confirmed yet is which Snapdragon chip we’re getting this time.</p>

<h2>Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 looks likely</h2>

<p>Leaks and benchmark listings strongly suggest that at least the base model could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. The chip is built on a 4nm process and features a Cortex-A720 prime core clocked at 2.7GHz, alongside additional performance and efficiency cores, paired with an Adreno GPU.</p>

<p>On paper, it should deliver modest performance and efficiency gains over the previous generation, nothing dramatic, but enough to keep the (4a) competitive in the mid-range segment.</p>

<p>As for the Pro variant, things are less clear. Some reports suggest it could use the same 7s Gen 4, while others hint at a step up, possibly a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.</p>

<p>Beyond the processor, both models are rumored to share some core specs. A 5,400mAh battery with 50W wired charging is expected across the lineup, along with a 50MP telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="602" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Nothing-Phone-4a-Glpyh-Bar-teaser-1024x602-1.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-727709" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Nothing-Phone-4a-Glpyh-Bar-teaser-1024x602-1.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Nothing-Phone-4a-Glpyh-Bar-teaser-1024x602-1-300x176.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Nothing-Phone-4a-Glpyh-Bar-teaser-1024x602-1-768x452.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Nothing-Phone-4a-Glpyh-Bar-teaser-1024x602-1-696x409.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Nothing-Phone-4a-Glpyh-Bar-teaser-1024x602-1-714x420.png 714w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Phone (4a) Glyph Bar</figcaption></figure>

<p>Where they may differ more noticeably is in the rear lighting setup. The standard Phone (4a) is confirmed to feature a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/20/nothing-phone-4a-glyph-bar-teaser/">simplified “Glyph Bar”</a> with nine individually controlled LEDs for cleaner lighting effects. The Pro model, meanwhile, could adopt a more advanced “Glyph Matrix” system, potentially inspired by the higher-end Phone (3) and its expanded rear lighting interface.</p>

<p>With the launch scheduled for March 5 (4 PM IST in India), we won’t have to wait much longer for official confirmation. For now, the real question is how much separation the Pro model will get, and whether the chipset choice brings a noticeable jump over last year’s (3a).</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing </a>has taken a key step in its rollout strategy for the upcoming Phone (4a) series by confirming Flipkart availability ahead of the official launch on 5th March 2026. A dedicated Flipkart microsite for the new mid-range lineup is already live, and likely includes both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro.</p>

<h2>Nothing Phone (4a) Series Launching Via Flipkart</h2>

<p>To recall, all Nothing products have been sold online via Flipkart, which is one of the leading e-commerce platforms in the region. So it is no surprise that the Nothing Phone (4a) series continues the trend. While the microsite itself doesn’t show pricing or full specs yet, the listing does hint that the pre-orders and first sale could go live soon. </p>

<p>Based on what we know so far, the Nothing Phone (4a) is set to be equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, which might be coupled with 12GB of RAM. A sizeable 5,080mAh battery pack could power this model, which likely supports 50W wired fast charging. This model likely runs on the Android 16 OS based Nothing OS custom skin out of the box. Other notable features include up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance, and possibly two color variants (black and white). </p>

<p>We can expect Nothing&#8217;s signature transparent aesthetic to make a return, along with an evolving Glyph LED lighting system. On the front, the Nothing Phone (4a) series is expected to offer a smooth display with up to a 144Hz refresh rate. For photography, the rear may have a triple camera setup, just like its predecessor. </p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing </a>appears to be gearing up for the release of its next mid-range smartphone series. The Nothing Phone (4a) and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro have just surfaced in another leak, which has hinted at their release being right around the corner. So here&#8217;s what we know.</p>

<h2>Nothing Phone (4a) &amp; Phone (4a) Pro Could Be Just Weeks Away</h2>

<p>According to a known tipster <a href="https://x.com/heyitsyogesh/status/2018586011312541981" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><em>Yogesh Brar</em></a>, the brand might be planning an early March release for its new mid-range duo. He also shared a tentative global launch date, which is 5th March 2026. So the affordable devices could be just a month away from their official announcement. This launch strategy would mirror last year’s timing for the Phone (3a) series, which debuted around the same time last year, and helped Nothing solidify its presence in the mid-range segment.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="Nothing Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro OS 4.0" class="wp-image-717179" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/1764360545-786470-output-header.jpg 1653w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>In a recent announcement, Nothing confirmed that there will be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/29/nothing-phone-4-not-launching-2026-phone-4a-series-confirmed/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">no Phone (4) flagship model</a> launching this year, but has already confirmed the Phone (4a) lineup. This might be indicative of the brand&#8217;s focus on enhancing the 4a series with meaningful upgrades in design and performance. In the tweet, the tipster did reveal some of these updates, including a faster UFS 3.1 storage instead of the older UFS 2.2, which should result in faster app load times and improved responsiveness.</p>

<p>Both variants are also likely to use Snapdragon 7 series chipsets, although the exact models have yet to be confirmed. This should offer capable performance for day-to-day use and efficient power management. Nothing could bring a marginal battery capacity bump in both models. Apart from this, the upcoming devices are expected to get a refreshed design and a higher price tag.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing</a> CEO Carl Pei confirmed in a YouTube video that the company will not launch any flagship smartphone in 2026. This means there will be no Nothing Phone (4) this year, and the company says <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nothing-phone-3/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing Phone (3)</a> will continue to serve as the brand’s flagship through 2026.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Nothing Phone (3)" class="wp-image-721683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/1767015675-231989-output-header.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Nothing has been reserved with its flagship launches from the beginning. For example, the Phone (3) arrived after a two-year gap following the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nothing-phone-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Phone (2)</a>. The company is basically replicating the same strategy with its next flagship.</p>

<p>That said, this does not mean there will be no new phone launches this year. Carl Pei confirmed that Nothing will introduce the Phone (4a) series, which will bring upgrades in the following areas:</p>

<ul><li>materials</li><li>design</li><li>display</li><li>camera</li><li>and more</li></ul>

<p>The video also talks about software, particularly Essential Space. According to Pei, users will be able to create their own widgets via it. The feature is currently in alpha testing and is expected to move to the beta stage soon. You can check out the video below for more details:</p>

<h2><strong>What we know about the Nothing Phone (4a) series</strong></h2>

<p>As mentioned by Pei, the Nothing Phone (4a) series is indeed launching, and it could happen quite soon. Both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro have surfaced on regulatory platforms, confirming several key details.</p>

<p>The standard model has appeared in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/30/nothing-phone-4a-series-might-be-launching-soon/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">IMEI listings </a>and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/27/nothing-phone-4a-uae-tdra-certification-launch-specs-price/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">UAE’s TRDA certification</a> with the model number A069. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Nothing-Phone-3a-Pro-2-1024x640.png?x44794" alt="Nothing Phone (3a) Pro" class="wp-image-674789" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Nothing-Phone-3a-Pro-2-1024x640.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Nothing-Phone-3a-Pro-2-300x188.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Nothing-Phone-3a-Pro-2-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Nothing-Phone-3a-Pro-2-696x435.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Nothing-Phone-3a-Pro-2-1068x668.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Nothing-Phone-3a-Pro-2-672x420.png 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Nothing-Phone-3a-Pro-2.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Meanwhile, the Phone (4a) Pro made its regulatory debut on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/27/nothing-phone-4a-pro-eu-eprel-battery-charging-bis-certification/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">EU’s EPREL database</a>, confirming its battery and charging specifications. The device will feature a 5,080mAh battery paired with 50W fast charging. It has also been certified by India’s BIS under the model number A069P.</p>

<p>There is still limited information about the Phone (4a) series’ hardware specifications. However, rumors suggest a Q1 2026 launch, which would mean a debut before March. We will keep you updated as more details emerge.</p>

<p>It looks like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing</a> is gearing up to launch its next midrange smartphones soon. The Nothing Phone (4a) was certified by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/27/nothing-phone-4a-uae-tdra-certification-launch-specs-price/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">UAE’s TDRA</a> earlier this week, and now the Phone (4a) Pro has surfaced in the EU with key battery and charging details.</p>

<p>According to the EU’s EPREL database, the Phone (4a) Pro carries the model number A069P and packs a 5,080mAh battery with 50W fast charging. That’s not much of an upgrade, considering its predecessor offered the same battery and charging setup. Still, the phone earns an “A” energy efficiency rating from the EU.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Battery-and-Charging.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-724895" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Battery-and-Charging.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Battery-and-Charging-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Battery-and-Charging-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Battery-and-Charging-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-Battery-and-Charging-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>Nothing Phone (4a) Pro EU EPREL certification</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>On paper, that translates to a battery endurance rating of 63 hours and 24 minutes per charge cycle. The listing also claims the battery can handle up to 1,400 charge cycles before dropping 80 percent of its original capacity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>EPREL further confirms its IP65 rating, meaning the device should be resistant to dust and low-pressure water jets.</p>

<p>Beyond Europe, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro has also appeared on India’s BIS certification database, once again under the same model number.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="124" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-BIS-certification.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-724896" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-BIS-certification.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-BIS-certification-300x41.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-BIS-certification-768x106.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Nothing-Phone-4a-Pro-BIS-certification-696x96.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<h2><strong>Nothing Phone (4a) Pro: expected specs</strong></h2>

<p>There’s still plenty we don’t know about the Phone (4a) Pro, but <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/11/nothing-phone-4a-series-specs-price-and-colors-leak-nothing-headphone-a-also-surfaces/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">rumors suggest</a> it will be powered by a Snapdragon 7-series chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Connectivity is expected to include eSIM support, which Nothing already offers on the current generation.</p>

<p>As for colors, the Phone (4a) Pro is rumored to launch in black, white, pink, and blue.</p>

<p>For now, that’s all the official information available, but with certifications stacking up, a full announcement may not be far off.</p>
