Chinese Smartphone maker Nubia is gearing up to launch its next gaming smartphone, the Red Magic 6 on March 4. The company’s President Ni Fei has already confirmed that Red Magic Watch will launch alongside the smartphone. Now, we have got some official information on its specs.

In a Weibo post, Ni Fei has posted an image of the Red Magic Watch. You can see that the watch has a circular design like realme, Xiaomi, and OnePlus’ upcoming Smartwatch. It has two Crowns on the right and one has a ‘Red’ ring on it. The Strap(Textured) and the Watch dial are Black in Color.

Ni Fei says that the Red Magic Watch will feature a 1.39-inch AMOLED display. This circular display will have a resolution of 454-pixels(i.e, 454×454). The Watch seems to have the Red Magic Theme inside the Software as per the teaser image. To ascertain this, another leak on Weibo confirms it.

According to a post from WHYLAB, Red Magic Watch is likely to run on RTOS(Real-Time Operating System). While the other specs of the Smartwatch are under wraps for now, we can expect it to feature Heart rate, Blood Oxygen monitoring, and more.

Red Magic Watch is the first Smartwatch from the Chinese giant. Apart from Gaming smartphones, it has also launched a few other accessories like Truly Wireless Earbuds. The venture into the wristwear arena will only enable Nubia to further cement its position in the home country.

Considering the Red Magic smartphones make it to other countries this should come outside of china too. However, let’s wait for the official info. As for Price, the Red Magic Watch is expected to be priced around 1,000 yuan($155).

Nubia has launched the Nubia Watch under crowdfunding on Kickstarter. The smartwatch was first launched in China back in July with an interesting specs and design. The watch carries a starting price of $179.

The Nubia Watch features a 4.01-inch super flexible AMOLED screen which tends to wrap around the wrist. The dial is made from a lightweight aluminium alloy manufactured using nano-injection process while it uses biomedical-grade ceramics on the side. The overall lightweight design makes it lighter to wear.

The extension of the screen is a 316L stainless steel watch section which the company claims have gone through more than 30 processes, taking into account the aesthetics and structural strength. It comes standard with a soft and skin-friendly silicone strap. There is also a Napa leather strap made of imported Italian calfskin, with a silky surface and a delicate touch. This strap is a free add-on for all the perks.

In terms of functions, Nubia Watch supports eSIM independent call functions of China Mobile and China Unicom, and Alipay mobile payment. It features an array of sports and health monitoring functions, as well as weather reminders, find my phone function, compass, schedule reminders and many other functions. The watch also supports Wake-up gesture which wakes up the screen when the user raises his wrist. Nubia Watch also comes with a variety of watch face themes.

The watch is available for support on Kickstarter and will start shipping to backers in October. The watch is available in Midnight Black and Army green colours.

It will be sold on Nubia’s official website and offline experience stores, as well as on Nubia JD’s self-operated flagship store, Nubia official flagship store on Tmall and Suning Tesco’s Nubia official flagship store.

Nubia is currently known for its Red Magic lineup of gaming smartphones but the brand also makes unique wearables. Last year, it launched Nubia Alpha as the world’s first commercially available wearable phone with a flexible display. For this year, the company has begun to tease a new wearable simply called Nubia Watch.  

The Nubia Watch was recently listed on JD (Jingdong) with July 28 launch date. Now, the brand has posted the wearable’s first official teaser on Weibo confirming it to launch alongside Red Magic 5S.

The teaser image only gives us a glimpse of Nubia Watch’s design but it does confirm it to feature a flexible OLED display and 316L stainless steel + aluminium body. Apart from these two things, we could not make anything else out of the picture except for a crown on the right side and a measurement scale for some reason.

The software on this smartwatch is a mystery. If we recall, the Nubia Alpha is powered by a custom OS based on Android. Maybe, the upcoming device will come with the same.

Anyway, we expect the brand to tease more features of the Nubia Watch before its launch next week just. Also, we think it may retail at a cheaper price than the Alpha.

Nubia Watch is now available for reservation online. The new smartwatch from the brand will launch on 28th July 2020 and for those interested, you can reserve one on JD.com.

While the Nubia Watch does not feature a camera unlike the Nubia Alpha, it does also have a flexible display. Its promotional image also carried the term “urban adventurer,” which might be indicative of certain high durability features or its design. Unfortunately, the finer details or pricing of the upcoming smartwatch are currently unknown.

Although, a few educated guesses can be made. The Nubia Alpha was released in Beijing at a price of 3,499 Yuan (roughly $499) for the eSIM card variant while the 18K gold plated eSIM card variant was sold for 4,499 Yuan (roughly $642). At the moment, its price now sits at 1,188 Yuan (roughly $169), which might have been due to the upcoming Nubia Watch launch. This, we can expect it to be between the two price points and around the 3,000 Yuan mark. However, this is just speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt for now and stay tuned.
