The OnePlus 10T offers the best hardware you can expect in 2022 and amazing performance, but its price is all but excessive, even in the European markets. But there is another handset that will debut soon in these markets after being launched in India: the global version of the OPPO Reno8 Pro. This is a comparison between the main specifications of the OnePlus 10T and the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global. Note that the Global version of the Reno is different from the Chinese one: consider it as a rebrand of the device known in China as the Reno8 Pro Plus.

Design

The most refined design belongs to the OPPO Reno8 Pro 5G, at least in my opinion. First of all, it has narrower bezels around the display, with the screen covering more than 90 percent of the front panel. It is made with premium materials: the rear side is made of glass, while the frame is aluminum, while the OnePlus 10T has a glass back and a plastic frame. The front glass of the Reno is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, one of the most advanced protection by Corning, and the same is for the rear glass and the front glass of the 10T. The Reno has a thinner and lighter design: it weighs just 183 grams and is 7.3 mm thick, while the OnePlus weighs more than 200 grams and is 8.8 mm thick. In my opinion, there is no challenge here: OPPO made a better device in terms of design.

Display

The displays of the OnePlus 10T and the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global should be exactly the same panel because the specifications are the same. They come with an AMOLED display sporting a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and the HDR10+ certification. These displays are able to show up to one billion colors with great accuracy and they include an in-display fingerprint reader. We are not talking about the most advanced panels in the market, but they are definitely among the most advanced ones. Both the handsets come with stereo speakers, but they have no audio jack. As already mentioned above, the displays are protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and they have very narrow bezels, but the bezels are narrower on the Reno. The displays come with punch holes placed in the central part.

Specs & Software

The best and most powerful hardware department belongs to the OnePlus 10T. It is fueled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform: currently the best processor by Qualcomm. It is an SoC built at 4 nm with an octa-core architecture composed of a Cortex X2 CPU running at a max frequency of 3.19 GHz, three Cortex A710 CPUs running at 2.75 GHz, four Cortex A710 CPUs running at a frequency of 1.8 GHz, and an Adreno 730 GPU. The chipset is paired with a very advanced cooling system, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. There are also configurations with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of native storage. The OPPO Reno8 Pro is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max mobile platform built at 5 nm and running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz: it is comparable to the Snapdragon 888 by Qualcomm and it is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Both the phones run Android 12 out of the box and they have similar user interfaces: ColorOS 12.1 and OxygenOS 12.

Camera

The camera sensors placed on the rear sides of these two phones are exactly the same: they sport a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro camera. But there are two important differences: the OnePlus 10T includes optical stabilization (OIS), while the OPPO Reno8 Pro is aided by the MariSilicon X proprietary NPU improving night photography. The selfie cameras are different: the Reno is superior thanks to its 32 MP selfie shooter, while the 10T has an inferior 16 MP front camera.

Battery

The battery life of the OnePlus 10T will be longer thanks to the presence of a bigger 4800 mAh battery. This phone will even charge quicker thanks to 150W fast charging. The OPPO Reno8 Pro has a 4500 mAh battery with 80W fast charging.

Price

The OnePlus 10T is priced at Rs. 49,999 in India which roughly translates into $632, while the OPPO Reno8 Pro costs Rs. 45,999 or $581. Which of these phones would you pick?

Meanwhile, Google launched the new Pixel 6a in several European markets, with a promo launch giving you the true wireless earbuds Pixel Buds A as a gift. The bundle is very attractive and it will be very interesting to discover which of these two devices will offer the highest value for money in the European market. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Global is supposed to come to Europe during the month of September. Meanwhile, we want to prepare you through a comparison between the specifications of the Google Pixel 6a and the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global. They are very different phones, but probably you won’t be able to tell the same about their prices: that is the reason why we decided for a comparison.

Design

The Google Pixel 6a is a very interesting phone because it is one of the most compact high-end devices out there, thanks to its smaller display. But not only because of that: it is also lightweight and water resistant: the IP67 certification proves it is dust and water resistant. It is built with a plastic back and an aluminum frame, and it has a variant supporting the eSIM technology. It has a very original design with cameras placed horizontally. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Global has bigger dimensions due to the presence of a bigger display, but it is thinner than its rival. Unfortunately, it does not offer any certification for the protection against water and dust, but it is built with premium materials: aluminum for the frame and glass for the back, while the front panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Do you prefer a compact but cheaper phone or a bigger but thinner device with premium materials?

Display

The displays of these two devices are great, but the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global has the best one. It comes with an AMOLED display sporting a diagonal of 6.7 inches, showing up to one billion colors. The resolution is Full HD+ with 1080 x 2412 pixels and the display has a 120 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10+ certification, as well as a 950 nits peak brightness and an in-display fingerprint reader. The Google Pixel 6a has a great OLED display with a 6.1-inch diagonal, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, HDR certification, and an in-display fingerprint reader, but it lacks the 120 Hz refresh rate and it is not able to show one billion colors but it stops at 16 million. However, it remains very interesting because it is a compact panel, easy to use with one hand, and the phone is comfortable to keep in a pocket. Both the handsets are equipped with stereo speakers, but they do not feature audio jacks.

Specs & Software

The Google Pixel 6a is powered by the Google Tensor: the first proprietary chipset by Google. It is built at 5 nm and it has an octa-core architecture composed of two Cortex X1 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.8 GHz, two Cortex A76 CPUs running at a frequency of 2.25 GHz, and four Cortex A55 CPUs running at 1.8 GHz, as well as a Mali G78 MP20 GPU. The chipset is paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Global is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max mobile platform: an upgraded version of the Dimensity 8100 with higher AI capabilities. It is a chipset built at 5 nm with an octa-core architecture composed of four Cortex A78 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz, four Cortex A55 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and a Mali G610 MC6 GPU. The Dimensity 8100 by Mediatek is a better chipset than the Google Tensor found on the Pixel 6a. Further, it is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, definitely better than the 6/128 GB configuration of the Pixel 6a. Both the phones run Android 12 out of the box, but the Google one will most likely get longer software support.

Camera

The main rear camera of the OPPO Reno8 Pro is definitely better than the one found on the Google Pixel 6a. It is a Sony IMX766 chipset with OIS support, aided by the MariSilicon X. We are talking about the first proprietary NPU by OPPO improving night photography and videos thanks to a power of 18 TOPS. The Reno8 Pro even provides a better front camera with a 32 MP resolution.

Battery

The OPPO Reno8 Pro Global has a slightly bigger battery than the Google Pixel 6a and it charges way quicker thanks to 80W fast charging, that is the reason why it wins the battery comparison.

Price

The OPPO Reno8 Pro starts from €550/$550 in India, while the Pixel 6a begins at €460/$460 globally (prices vary depending on the market). The Reno is definitely a better phone if we consider hardware, display, and cameras, but the compact size and the long software support of the Pixel still make it a very intriguing choice.

A few days before, Realme launched a new flagship placed in the same price range: the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition. It is not a top-tier flagship, just like the Reno, but it is placed exactly in the middle between the Realme GT 2 and the GT 2 Pro. That is also a reason why it is a perfect competitor for the new Reno8 Pro. So should you go for the Realme flagship killer or choose the OPPO high-end? This is a comparison between the specifications of the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition and the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global which will let you find out.

Design

These phones come with a very original design. The Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition comes in a color option resembling a travel trunk, with a back cover made of leather and a brown aluminum frame. It is very beautiful and distinctive, and in case you do not like it, there are other standard color variants. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Global is a more traditional phone in terms of design, but it is made with premium materials: it has a glass back, an aluminum frame, and a front glass protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. Further, it is thinner and lighter than the Realme flagship killer, with a thickness of just 7.3 mm and a weight of just 183 grams. Both these handsets come with a very high screen to body ratio: the display takes more than 90 percent of the front side and even the chin is very thin, as thin as the other three bezels.

Display

It looks like the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global and the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition are equipped with the same display. That is the reason why, if you are evaluating these two phones, you should focus on the remaining specifications. Coming back to the displays, they are AMOLED panels with a diagonal of 6.7 inches able to show up to one billion colors thanks to a 10-bit color depth. They sport a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, a peak brightness of 950 nits, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. We are not talking about the most advanced panel out there, but it still belongs to the high-end segment with amazing color reproduction and a high refresh rate. The Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition and the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global are equipped with stereo speakers, but they do not have a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Specs & Software

The king of hardware in this comparison is the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition, which is also one of the most powerful phones out there. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform: currently, it is the best processor by Qualcomm. It is an octa-core chipset built at 4 nm and composed of a Cortex X2 CPU running at a max frequency of 3.19 GHz, three Cortex A710 CPUs running at 2.75 GHz, and four Cortex A510 CPUs running at 1.8 GHz, as well as an Adreno 730 GPU. The OPPO Reno8 Pro is fueled by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max mobile platform: an upgraded variant of the Dimensity 8100 with better AI capabilities. It is a chipset built at 5 nm with an octa-core architecture composed of four Cortex A78 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz, four Cortex A55 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and a Mali G610 MC6 GPU. Both the handsets run Android 12 out of the box, but the ColorOS 12.1 found on the OPPO Reno8 Pro is a bit more advanced than the Realme UI 3.0.

Camera

When it comes to the main camera, the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global is a more interesting phone because it is supported by the MariSilicon X proprietary NPU achieving better image quality in night photography and videos. On the other hand, the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition has a better ultrawide sensor with a 50 MP resolution (instead of a poor 8 MP one). Last but not least, the Reno has a superior 32 MP selfie shooter.

Battery

The Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition has a bigger battery and, alongside its efficient chipset, it provides a longer battery life. It even supports a faster charging technology with a power of 100W. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Global is thinner but it has a smaller 4500 mAh battery with 80W fast charging.

Price

The OPPO Reno8 Pro Global is priced at Rs. 45,999 / $580 in India, while the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition is supposed to hit the Indian market with an Rs. 41,000 / $518 starting price. If so, Realme will offer a higher value for money.

Its specs sheet is so advanced that this device is able to compete with the vanilla version of the latest flagship series by OPPO: the vanilla OPPO Find X5. These two devices are both made for the global market and they pack high-end specifications, but their prices are not excessive like the most expensive phones on the shelves. A lot of people are wondering which one to buy and, while waiting for the launch of the Reno8 Pro in the global market, we decided to satisfy them with a comparison between the specifications of the OPPO Find X5 and the OPPO Reno8 Pro.

Design

The most original design between these two phones is the one of the OPPO Find X5. It looks like the find X5 Pro, but it is made with cheaper materials: it still has premium materials but, instead of ceramic, you get a glass back and an aluminum frame. On the front, the phone features a curved display with a very high screen to body ratio. Unfortunately, this handset does not offer any kind of certification for the protection against dust and water, but its display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The OPPO Reno8 Pro is built with a glass back and an aluminum frame as well, but the screen is not curved at the sides and the front glass is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. I personally prefer the Find X5 because it is more original and more compact, even though the Reno is thinner and lighter than its internal rival.

Display

The displays of these two phones differ in their sizes, but the specifications are the same. The OPPO Reno8 Pro has a wider display with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, while the Find X5 has a smaller one with just 6.55 inches. These panels are AMOLED panels able to show up to one billion colors with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400p, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness. These phones are equipped with in-display fingerprint readers and stereo speakers, but they do not feature audio jacks. In terms of image quality, they are excellent, even though they do not sport the best displays out there. But a lot of people won’t notice any difference between these panels and the best ones on the market.

Specs & Software

The OPPO Find X5 and the OPPO Reno8 Pro are more or less at the same level when it comes to the hardware setup, even though the processors are different. The OPPO Find X5 is powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform by Qualcomm built at 5 nm and sporting an octa-core architecture. It is composed of one Cortex X1 CPU running at a max frequency of 2.84 GHz, three Cortex A78 CPUs with a frequency of 2.42 GHz, four Cortex A55 CPUs with a frequency of 1.8 GHz, and an Adreno 660 GPU. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Global is fueled by the Dimensity 8100 Max chipset by Mediatek built at 5 nm and with an octa-core architecture composed of four Cortex A78 CPUs running at 2.8 GHz, four Cortex A55 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and a Mali G610 MC6 GPU. The chipsets are paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage depending on the chosen configuration. Their processors provide more or less the same performance, even though I personally prefer the Snapdragon 888. Both the phones run Android 12 out of the box, but the Find X5 is likely to get a higher amount of major updates.

Camera

The OPPO Find X5 wins the camera comparison thanks to its secondary sensors. Both the phones come with a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main camera, as well as the MariSilicon X: the first proprietary NPU by OPPO able to improve night photography and videos with a power of 18 TOPS. But the OPPO Find X5 has better secondary sensors: a 13 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 50 MP Sony IMX766 ultrawide camera. The OPPO Reno8 Pro has an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP macro camera.

Battery

The OPPO Find X5 is equipped with a bigger battery than OPPO Reno8 Pro and it is able to last more on a single charge. Further, it features wireless charging, unlike its internal rival.

Price

The OPPO Find X5 is priced at €1000/$1000 globally, while the OPPO Reno8 Pro is yet to come into the European market and in India, it costs about €550/$550. The Find X5 wins the specs comparison, even though the Reno will probably offer higher value for money.

The global journey of the new lineup begins from the Indian market, which is the biggest one alongside China. While in Cina the series is composed of three variants, only two variants debuted in the global market: the OPPO Reno8 and the OPPO Reno8 Pro. The former is the same device as the one seen in China, while the latter is a rebrand of the Chinese Pro Plus variant. Instead, the Pro variant for China with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 did not hit the global shelves for unknown reasons. A lot of people are wondering what are the differences between the vanilla version and the Pro one in the global market. Here is a comparison between the specifications of the OPPO Reno8 Global and the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global.

Design

Even though the OPPO Reno8 Pro is the most expensive one and is built with premium material, at first glance, the vanilla OPPO Reno8 looks more beautiful. It has a smaller camera module, more compact dimensions, and a very interesting gradient color option. However, if you dig deeper, you will find out that the OPPO Reno8 Pro looks very premium. It is built with a glass back (protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5) and an aluminum frame, and it comes with a higher screen to body ratio compared to the vanilla version, but its dimensions are bigger, so it is a harder device to use with one hand or to keep in a pocket. Both the phones come with Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the front glass, they come with flat borders just like the latest iPhones, and they have no audio jack.

Display

The most advanced display belongs to the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global, even though its panel is not at the same level as the OPPO Find X5 Pro. The Pro variant comes with an AMOLED display sporting a diagonal of 6.7 inches and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The screen is able to show up to one billion colors with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and up to 950 nits of brightness. The vanilla version has a smaller 6.4-inch display with a lower 90 Hz refresh rate, a lower 800 nits peak brightness, and it is not able to show one billion colors but it stops at 16 million. The phones are equipped with in-display fingerprint scanners, but the Pro variant is the only one equipped with stereo speakers.

Specs & Software

An important advantage of the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global is definitely the hardware department, thanks to its superior chipset. It is fueled by the Dimensity 8100 Max mobile platform by MediaTek built at 5 nm and sporting an octa-core architecture. It is composed of four Cortex A78 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz, four Cortex A55 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and a Mali G610 MC6 GPU. The SoC is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The vanilla OPPO Reno8 has an inferior Mediatek Dimensity 1300 chipset built at 6 nm with an octa-core architecture composed of one Cortex A78 CPU running at a max frequency of 3 GHz, three Cortex A78 CPUs running at 2.6 GHz, four Cortex A55 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and a Mali G77 MC9 GPU. These handsets run Android 12 out of the box, customized by ColorOS 12.1.

Camera

The cameras of these devices are exactly the same, but the OPPO Reno8 Pro Global is able to provide higher camera performance thanks to the presence of the MariSilicon X NPU, the same proprietary NPU found on the OPPO Find X5 and the OPPO Find X5 Pro, improving the photo and video quality with low light conditions. For the rest, they are the same: they sport a triple rear camera with a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro camera, as well as a 32 MP selfie shooter recording videos with a 1080p resolution.

Battery

The batteries of these two devices are the same, with a dual-cell structure and a capacity of 4500 mAh, as well as the 80W fast charging technology that brings these batteries from 0 to 100 percent of charge in just 28 minutes. Expect a similar battery life, but the Pro variant may last more in a few scenarios due to its more efficient chipset.

Price

The price of the OPPO Reno8 Pro in the Indian market roughly translates into €567 or $567, while the vanilla version is priced at €480 or $480 at the actual change. So the Pro variant offers a few advantages: a better display, superior camera performance, better hardware, and stereo speakers. Which one would you pick?

This follows the launch of the Reno8 Pro+ last May in China. The Indian version of the Reno8 is an upgraded version of the Chinese model. However, the Reno8 Pro is the same model as the Reno8 Pro+ in China. The two new phones for the global market are similar but come with different chipsets.

The Oppo Reno8 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 8100-Max chipset, while the Dimensity 1300 is present in the Reno8. The Dimensity 8100 is a 5nm chip with four Cortex-A78 cores, four A55, and a Mali-GC610 MC6 GPU. Excellent image processing is accomplished with Oppo’s in-house MariSilicon X chip.

The Reno8 Pro packs a 6.7” AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ capability. You can stream high-quality videos from Amazon and Netflix using the flagship Reno8 Pro model.

The Reno8 Pro can also be used as a gaming smartphone. PUBG game can run on the device with a 90Hz refresh rate, which is a first for the Reno series. The game also features Background Updates and installation. The Background Update feature will not be available in Japan and India however. There are dual speakers and a linear motor for haptic feedback on the Pro model. It also has an extra layer of graphite on the glass back. The Reno8 has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a similar FHD resolution as the Pro model. It however lacks support for HDR10.

The two global Reno8 models come with similar camera hardware although the Pro model performs better. A 50MP main camera sensor combined with an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro. At the front, we have a 32MP IMX709 sensor with an RGBW matrix for improved low-light performance. The Chinese tech giant is bringing its latest series to India two weeks from now, on July 18. The series is expected to come with the Oppo Reno8 and Reno8 Pro smartphones.

Oppo posted on its Twitter handle that the Reno8 series will be launched in India on July 18 at 18:00 IST. Both the smartphones under the series are expected to bring impressive cameras. They will likely offer better imaging and will be able to capture good pictures even in low light.

The flagship killer powered by one of the latest MediaTek flagship platforms had good feedback from the public, but at the same time, several other devices debuted in the same price range. One of them is the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus: a handset belonging to the high-end segment and coming with very similar specifications to the latest Realme flagship killer. This is the reason why a lot of people are wondering which one is the best between these two devices. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus is said to hit the global market soon but under the Reno8 Pro moniker. While waiting for its global launch, here you can find a comparison between the specifications of the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus and the Realme GT Neo 3.

Design

If you are looking for a more elegant and sober design, then you should opt for the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus. It comes with a new design scheme reminding of the OnePlus Ace and its Racing Edition, including a big camera module but merged with the rear cover. It is built with better materials, including aluminum for the frame. The Realme GT Neo 3 is a bit cheaper due to its plastic frame and it is a better phone for young people and gamers thanks to its design inspired by sports cars. In two of its three color variants, it comes with two vertical stripes on the rear side. Both the handsets come with very narrow bezels around the display, but the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus has a higher screen to body ratio. Unfortunately, these phones do not feature 3.5 mm audio jacks. The glasses are protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5, not the best Corning protection but still great.

Display

It looks like these two phones come with exactly the same display. It is a 6.7-inch panel with the AMOLED technology able to show up to one billion colors with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and a peak brightness up to 1,000 nits, as well as an in-display fingerprint reader and a punch hole placed centrally. So you should not notice important differences in terms of image quality. We are not talking about the best display out there, but it is definitely a great panel showing realistic colors with great smoothness. Given that they have exactly the same panel, you should focus on the other specifications while comparing these two devices.

Specs & Software

The Realme GT Neo 3 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 mobile platform: an octa-core chipset built at 5 nm including Cortex-A78 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz and a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max mobile platform: what does it change between these two chipsets? Not much: the Max variant of the SoC comes with better AI performance, but for the rest, it is pretty much the same. The Realme GT Neo 3 and the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus are equipped with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. When it comes to the performance, it is almost a draw. Both the handsets run Android 12 out of the box, customized by Realme UI 3.0. The Realme GT Neo 3 will get three years of Android updates and four years of security patches, as confirmed by Realme.

Camera

The rear camera departments of these two phones are exactly the same: they feature a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main camera with OIS and an f/1.9 focal aperture, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro sensor. But there is an important difference that makes the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus a better camera phone: we are talking about the MariSilicon X proprietary NPU, improving the image quality in low light conditions thanks to a power of 18 TOPS. Further, the Reno8 Pro+ is equipped with a superior 32 MP front camera (instead of the 16 MP camera of the Realme handset).

Battery

Last but not least, is the battery. Realme GT Neo 3 comes in two different variants: one with a 4500 mAh battery and 150W fast charging, and another one with a 5000 mAh battery and 80W fast charging. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus is only available in a version with a 4500 mAh battery and 80W fast charging, that is why the GT Neo3 wins the battery comparison.

Price

You need at least €281/$329 for the Realme GT Neo 3, while the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus starts from €520/$552. The Reno wins the comparison thanks to a better chipset and superior camera performance, but the Realme GT Neo 3 has a way higher value for money.

However, it was just a teaser and the most premium offerings of the year are still due for a launch. But before that, we have a number of interesting phones slated to launch in June.

We are talking about the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus, launched in the Chinese market just a few days ago. However, this special variant is not a top-tier flagship, even though it comes with very interesting specifications. A perfect rival for this device is definitely the vanilla version of the latest flagship series by Vivo: the Vivo X80. Given that the Reno8 series is not a flagship series, the Pro Plus variant competes with the vanilla version of the X80 series. In this comparison, you will find the differences between the specifications of the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus and the Vivo X80.

Design

I personally prefer the design of the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus for several reasons. First of all, its camera module is more elegant, less invasive, and more original in terms of design. Further, the phone has a very high screen to body ratio and it is more compact than Vivo X80. Last but not least, it is one of the thinnest phones of 2022 with a thickness of just 7.3 mm, and it is even very lightweight. However, you should not underestimate the Vivo X80: it comes in a special color option made with a leather back that looks very gorgeous. Currently, there are not many flagships with a leather back and, usually, they are in the top-tier segment. That is not the case with the Vivo X80 offering a leather back at a more affordable price.

Display

The display of the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus is a better panel if compared to the Vivo X80. It is able to show up to one billion colors and this is the element making it better. For the rest, these displays are very similar to each other. They are panels with a diagonal of around 6.7 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080p, the HDR certification, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. They also come with optical in-display fingerprint readers. Unfortunately, even though these are high-end phones, they do not feature stereo speakers and they do not even come with a 3.5 mm audio jack. The displays of these phones are not the best out there, but they provide great image quality and a high level of smoothness.

Specs & Software

Are you looking for the most advanced hardware? If so, you should opt for the Vivo X80. It is powered by the Dimensity 9000 chipset by MediaTek: currently, the Dimensity 9000 is the most powerful chipset by MediaTek. It is built with a 4 nm production process, it runs at a max frequency of 3.05 GHz and it is paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The Vivo X80 runs Android 12 customized by Funtouch OS 12 in the global market and Origin OS Ocean in China. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus has a processor which comes right after the Dimensity 9000 in terms of CPU and GPU performance: the Dimensity 8100 Max, paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The phone runs Android 12 customized by ColorOS 12.1.

Camera

When it comes to the cameras, it is a hard fight between these two phones. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus is able to capture better shots with the main 50 MP camera thanks to the aid of the proprietary NPU MariSilicon X that improves night photography and video recording at night. On the other hand, the Vivo X80 is equipped with better secondary sensors: it has a 12 MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom and a 12 MP ultrawide camera. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus replaces the telephoto lens with a useless 2 MP macro camera and its ultrawide sensor is an inferior 8 MP shooter.

Battery

Both these handsets are equipped with a 4500 mAh battery capacity and they feature 80W fast charging, as well as reverse charging. But the Vivo X80 should provide a longer battery life in several scenarios because the Dimensity 9000 is a more efficient mobile platform. However, the ColorOS user interface is notoriously better at software optimization and it could achieve lower energy consumption on the Reno8 Pro Plus.

Price

You need at least €566/$607 to purchase the Vivo X80 in the Chinese market, while the starting price of the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus roughly translates into €520/$557. So which phone is the best? The Vivo X80 looks more interesting because it comes with a better processor and superior cameras, but the Reno8 Pro+ has a better design (thinner and more elegant) and display (with one billion colors). Which one would you pick?

There are Pro Plus variants in the flagship segment, naturally, but you can find them in the midrange segment as well. And if you are not an expert, it may be very hard for you to understand which phone is better. In this last period, there are two companies that launched very interesting Pro Plus variants, and both their new phones do not belong to the premium flagship segment. We are talking about OPPO which came up with the Reno8 Pro Plus and Redmi which launched the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus. This is a comparison between the specifications of the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus and the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus which will let you find the best phone for your needs.

Design

The most stunning design belongs to the OPPO Reno 8 Pro Plus not only for the look which appears very elegant with that camera module sporting the same color as the rest of the rear side but also because it is one of the thinnest and most lightweight high-end phones out there. It is just 7.3 mm thin and it is a record for 2022. Further, it is built with great materials: glass for the back and aluminum for the frame, and it has a very high screen to body ratio, one of the highest out there. The Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus has an ugly and outdated camera module, so it is not the best phone in terms of design, but it comes with the IP53 certification making it splash resistant and dust resistant.

Display

If your goal is to get the best display, then go for the OPPO Reno 8 Pro Plus without thinking twice. It is the only one able to show up to one billion colors thanks to its great AMOLED display, and it supports the HDR10+ standard. For the rest, these devices are pretty much the same in terms of image quality: they come with almost the same display diagonal, the AMOLED technology, a Full HD+ resolution with 1080p, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Note that the Reno8 Pro+ has an in-display fingerprint reader, while it is side-mounted on the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus. Both the handsets feature stereo speakers, tuned by JBL for the Redmi device.

Specs & Software

The most advanced performance level is provided by the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus. It is powered by a great MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max mobile platform: an upgrade of the Dimensity 8100 with better AI capabilities. There is no way for the Dimensity 920 found on the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus to compete with the Dimensity 8100 Max. Further, the OPPO high-end features more RAM: up to 12 GB of RAM, paired with UFS 3.1 internal storage up to 256 GB instead of UFS 2.2 storage. The only advantage of the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus is the presence of a micro SD slot. Both the handsets run Android 12 out of the box and they will be surely updated to Android 13 and another major Android version.

Camera

The OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus is the winner even when it comes to the cameras. It is equipped with a Sony IMX766 main camera with a 50 MP resolution and OIS, as well as an 8 MP ultrawide sensor and a 2 MP macro lens. This device is superior not only because it has a better sensor, but also because it features the MariSilicon X NPU: a proprietary chip that boasts night photography. Last but not least, the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus has a superior front camera with a 32 MP resolution.

Battery

The OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus and the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus have the same battery capacity: 4500 mAh. But the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus should be able to provide a longer battery life in several scenarios thanks to its efficient Dimensity 8100 Max chipset. The Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus wins the fast charging comparison thanks to 120W fast charging.

Price

The starting price of the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus in the Chinese market is €520/$557 (for the configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage), while the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus starts from €339/$363 for the 6/128 GB memory configuration. The OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus is a superior device and it wins the comparison because it features better cameras, display, and chipset. The Redmi handset offers a higher value for money and faster charging.

They are not at the same level as the Find X5 lineup, but they offer amazing specifications and their prices are more interesting if compared to the most advanced flagship lineup by the Green Factory. Soon, the new series will debut in the global market too, even though there may be a few changes: the Indian version of the lineup is expected to include the Reno8 and the Reno8 Pro which will be re-brands of the Chinese Pro and Pro+ variants, respectively. While waiting for the launch of the new series in the global market, here is a comparison between their specifications.

Design

The differences between the designs of these three devices are just marginal. It is very hard to distinguish every single phone from their design because they are similar, with a camera module sporting the same aesthetics. I personally prefer the look of the vanilla version because it has a smaller camera module, but it is built with cheaper materials. The best build quality is provided by the Pro variants which include an aluminum frame and the Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the front glass.

Display

The OPPO Reno8 Pro+ is equipped with the best display of the trio. It is an AMOLED panel that shows up to one billion colors with a Full HD+ resolution, a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and an in-display fingerprint reader. Right after, we got the display of the Reno8 Pro that does not show one billion colors, but the remaining specifications are the same as the Pro Plus variants with the exception of its 6.62-inch diagonal. The vanilla version has a smaller 6.43-inch panel with a lower 90 Hz refresh rate and no HDR10+.

Specs & Software

The most powerful hardware department is provided by the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus, as the name suggests. It is equipped with a high-end MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max mobile platform: an upgrade of the Dimensity 8100 with higher AI capabilities, built at 5 nm and running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz. The SoC is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The Reno8 Pro takes the silver medal with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platform that is currently the best midrange chipset by Qualcomm. The last position goes to the vanilla Reno8: the first phone with the Dimensity 1300 mobile platform. All of these phones run Android 12 customized by ColorOS 12.1, and they will get at least two major updates to new Android versions.

Camera

If you are looking for the most advanced cameras, then you should go either for the OPPO Reno8 Pro or the Pro Plus. Unlike these two devices, the vanilla version lacks an 8 MP ultrawide camera and it replaces it with a useless 2 MP depth sensor. This is the reason why the Pro variants are more versatile and interesting in terms of photo quality. Further, the Pro variants come with the proprietary NPU MariSilicon X improving night photography and video recording at night as well.

Battery

All of these phones come with the same battery capacity, this means that the longest battery life will be provided by the handset sporting the most efficient components. The OPPO Reno8 Pro may provide a longer battery life in a lot of scenarios because its Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platform is built with a better 4 nm production process improving the energy consumption. But the differences in terms of battery life should be just marginal. The charging speeds should be exactly the same because the whole trio features 4500 mAh batteries with 80W fast charging.

Price

The starting price of the OPPO Reno8 roughly translates into about €350 or $377 at the actual change, the Pro variant starts from €420 or $453, and the Pro Plus begins at €520 or $560. These are the prices for the Chinese market, while the ones for the global market are still unknown at the moment of this publication. Now that you know all the differences between the devices from the new series, which one would you pick?

It is composed of three variants ranging from the midrange to the high-end segment, but all with very strong chipsets. The OPPO Reno8 Pro is the world’s first phone with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platform and it has a midrange SoC, but it is a great alternative to flagship killers because its remaining specifications are very interesting, including the camera department. This and the listing price are the reasons why we decided to compare it to a flagship killer like the Realme GT Neo3: is it better to have a better chipset or other better specifications? Read this comparison and you will find the differences between OPPO Reno8 Pro and Realme GT Neo3.

Design

The OPPO Reno8 Pro has a very beautiful design and it is definitely more attractive than the Realme GT Neo3. First of all, it is a thinner phone with a thickness of just 7.6 mm, and it is even more compact thanks to a smaller display and very narrow bezels around it. Its amazing camera module with the same color as the remaining rear cover creates a sense of harmony and its display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The Realme GT Neo3 has the Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well, but it is thicker because it packs a bigger battery. Further, unlike its rival, it lacks an aluminum frame and it is made of polycarbonate.

Display

There are only marginal differences between the displays of the OPPO Reno8 Pro and the Realme GT Neo3. They both come with AMOLED panels sporting a Full HD+ resolution of 1080p, the HDR10+ certification, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint reader. So the color reproduction is similar, the level of detail is the same, and even the dimensions of the panels are almost the same. If you are choosing between these two devices, then you should focus on the remaining specifications of their specs sheet instead of looking at their displays because they are both great panels.

Specs & Software

If you are looking for the most advanced hardware setup, then you should go for the Realme GT Neo3. First of all, its processor is better: it is a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 built at 5 nm and running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz. It is a more powerful SoC than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 found on the OPPO Reno8 Pro, even though the latter is built with a 4 nm production process because CPU and GPU performances are higher. Further, the Realme GT Neo3 has LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal storage, while the Reno 8 Pro has LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 internal storage. Both the phones run Android 12 customized by similar user interfaces: ColorOS 12.1 and Realme UI 3.0.

Camera

The rear camera departments of these two phones are the same: you get a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main sensor with OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP macro lens. But the OPPO Reno8 Pro adds the MariSilicon X proprietary NPU which is able to improve photography at night thanks to an AI performance of 18 TOPS. Last but not least, the OPPO Reno8 Pro has a better selfie camera with a 32 MP resolution.

Battery

The Realme GT Neo3 is equipped with a bigger battery: the capacity is 5000 mAh, and it is able to provide longer battery life than OPPO Reno8 Pro. But note that the Realme flagship killer also comes in a variant with a 4500 mAh and 150W fast charging instead of 80W fast charging.

Price

The starting price of the OPPO Reno8 Pro for the Chinese market roughly translates into €420/$449 at the actual change, while you need at least €328/$350 to purchase the Realme GT Neo3. While the former offers better design and superior camera performance, the latter has a bigger battery and a better chipset. Which one would you pick?
