In response to the Xiaomi TV screen falling off, the company has announced a new self test application in China for its smart TV. This new app will help notify users if their Xiaomi TV is at risk of having its panel falling apart.
The Chinese tech giant released the new EA70 Self Check application in China last weekend. For those unaware, we had reported on two incidents in which smart TVs from the brand had their display panel fall off. The first incident was at a firm’s reception area and the second was at a user’s home. In both cases, the screen fell off without any external forces.
Xiaomi had initially stated that these two accidents were isolated incidents and were rare cases. But now, the brand came forward and stated that two batches with a production date between February 14th and March 20th faced a defect. This has prompted it to launch the self check app on the App Store, which will help users check if their smart TV are in any risk of falling apart.
Furthermore, the company also announced that it will be providing free on site maintenance service for EA70 TVs that are under the exclusive service plan. Users can also contact the official customer support to make an appointment for on site maintenance. It is even offering an additional two year extended warranty service for EA70 TVs as well.
