After a long wait, Google finally unveiled its first-ever smartwatch, dubbed the Pixel Watch. It combines Google and Fitbit’s best features for health, fitness, and machine learning. The wearable comes with a circular OLED display with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It runs on WearOS 3.5 and packs tons of health features. Let’s look closely at the specifications and pricing of the newly launched Pixel Watch.

Pixel Watch Specs and features

The Pixel Watch has a domed, circular glass display that is protected by scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and a stainless-steel housing. The watch is comparatively smaller than most premium smartwatches launched this fall, making it ideal for folks with small wrists. Its case measures 41mm and is 12.3mm thin. It’s also lightweight, weighing only 32g (without straps).

On the underside, it houses sensors that detect continuous heart rate at 1-second intervals, tracks sleep, measures blood oxygen (SpO2), and takes ECG (electrocardiogram) readings. Sensors are arranged horizontally in the center and are surrounded by two semi-circles. This is Fitbit’s most accurate heart rate tracking yet, says Google.

As for processing power, the watch runs on Samsung’s older Exynos 9110 chip, which was last seen on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. However, it also packs an additional Cortex M33 co-processor to optimize battery life. It also comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

The Pixel Watch comes with Bluetooth 5.0, LTE, Wi-Fi, and NFC for contactless payments. It also sports a compass, built-in GPS, and motion sensors like an accelerometer and gyroscope. In addition, it has a built-in microphone and speaker for Google Assistant and calling.

The Pixel Watch carries a 294mAh battery and is claimed to last 24 hours of usage. It is water resistant up to 5 ATM, which means it can withstand pressure equivalent to 50 meters of depth.

Pixel Watch Price and Availability

The Pixel Watch price will start at $349 for the GPS + Bluetooth-only model. While the LTE-compatible version of the Pixel Watch will cost $399. The watch comes in only one size. Its pre-orders start today, with the sale starting on October 13.

Google is long rumored to be working on a new Pixel Watch that will compete in the smartwatch market. Now, a new report has revealed that the smart wearable will launch alongside the Pixel 7 series and even revealed its possible price tag as well.

The news arrives from a 9To5Google report, who revealed the expected pricing of the upcoming Pixel Watch for the US market. Looking at the report, it appears that the Pixel Watch will be launched in two variants, which includes a Bluetooth only and LTE version. Apparently, the new Pixel Watch will cost somewhere around 399 US Dollars in the US, although, this is the price tag for the LTE enabled version of the smartwatch.

In other words, the pricing for the Bluetooth only model is unknown, but it will likely be slightly more affordable than the LTE model. For comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 starts from 329 US Dollars for the LTE version, while the higher end Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has a price tag of 499 US Dollars. Similarly, the Apple Watch Series 7 LTE version has a price tag of 499 US Dollars for its cellular enabled variant.

This basically means that the Pixel Watch will compete against the likes of high end smartwatches from other established brands. From what we know so far, the new Pixel Watch will run on Wear OS that will support Google Assistant, Google Maps, and other Google services and smart notifications. The device is also expected to be powered by a 300mAh battery pack, which may last for one full day.

The hype around the unreleased Google Pixel Watch does not show any signs of waning. The headline smart wearable has been on the front burner for several days with a raft of details being released. Yet another component of the Pixel Watch jigsaw says the smartwatch will have a 300mAh battery. The Pixel Watch will also offer cellular connectivity, as the internal makeup of the device is gradually being unraveled.

This week has seen the first hands-on pictures of the Pixel Watch and the hint that it will only be available in select markets. The price range of the Pixel Watch has also been speculated to range between $300 and $400. Three different variants of the smart wearable have also been spotted. Although the expected battery life of the Pixel Watch is yet to be specified, we could expect between 24 hours and 40 hours of power for the device. Some close models in terms of battery capacity include the Galaxy Watch 4, the Fossil Gen 6, and the Skagen Falster Gen 6.

The new WearOS of the Pixel Watch could provide greater optimizations than earlier OS models. This could mean better battery performance. The charging potential of the Pixel Watch is still unknown at this time, which is also an important metric. There are a few other details about the Pixel Watch that are still prominent in the rumor mills. The tempo of leaks around the Pixel Watch could indicate an imminent launch, but the specifics are still lacking.
