While the Pro model is available for purchase the base M4 5G has yet to be launched. But now, the handset has been spotted on various certification websites, revealing some of its specifications.

According to a MySmartPrice report, the upcoming smartphone has surfaced in the database of FCC and even IMDA. In other words, this also hints at an imminent launch as well. The Chinese brand is expected to launch the device in a number of markets soon, with the FCC listing revealing its model number 22041219G. Furthermore, the data also shows that the POCO M4 5G will run on MIUI 13 out of the box, which is likely based on the Android 11 OS.

The listing also revealed that the device will arrive with support for three 5G bands. It even confirmed three of its storage configurations as well. So, the POCO M4 5G will come with a 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage option, a 4GB + 128GB variant, and a top end 6GB + 128GB model as well. Apart from FCC, the device was also spotted on the IMDA certification website as well. Unfortunately, this listing does not reveal any additional information but does hint at its near launch.

The POCO M4 Pro has most of its features in common with the Redmi Note 11 which is known as the Redmi Note 11T in India. The device offers a similar design although with some minor tweaks. The back panel houses a rectangular-shaped camera module in the top left corner, however, the camera module has been extended to cover the entire width of the phone for a more stylized appearance. The extension features a large POCO branding.

The M4 Pro 5G’s top edge has a microphone, an IR blaster, and a speaker. Its bottom edge has another mic, a USB-C port, and a second speaker unit. As far as the front side is concerned, its display has a centrally placed punch-hole atop and is supported by a slightly thick chin at the bottom.

The device will likely measure 163.6 x 75.8 x 8.8 mm and weigh around 195 grams. The M4 Pro 5G is said to sport a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a 240Hz touch sampling rate and a 90Hz refresh rate.

The second camera on the rear is said to be an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera housing a Sony IMX355 sensor behind the f/2.2 lens offering a 119-degree field of view.

For selfies, a 16-megapixel OmniVision OV16A1 sensor will be provided with an f/2.5 aperture lens.

Improving upon its predecessor, The M4 Pro 5G will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 octa-core SoC under the hood. The chipset offers the Mali-G57 GPU and is built on the relatively new 6nm process. The POCO M4 Pro 5G is tipped to be offered in three RAM variants in India — 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB. It will have either 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage options.

The phone packs a large 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Like the global variant, the smartphone is expected to boot the MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box. It will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and will also offer a 3.5mm audio jack.

Pricing and Availability

So far, there has been no word about the pricing of the POCO M4 Pro 5G, however, the handset is expected to be priced close to the Redmi Note 11T 5G which starts at around Rs. 17,000 for the 6GB + 64 GB model. The phone will be offered in colors like Power Black, Poco Yellow, and Cool Blue. The launch event is scheduled for 12 PM IST on February 15th, 2020, so stay tuned as we will be covering the release of the POCO M4 Pro 5G.

New details shared by tipster Mukul Sharma with MySmartPrice reveal that the POCO M4 will be launched in February globally, with highlight features being its 64MP primary camera and 90Hz display.

While there is little info provided about its chipset other than it being from MediaTek, it is expected to be a 5G-supporting one. Nevertheless, a number of specifications concerning other departments of the device have actually been shared by the tipster.

POCO M3

Starting with photography, the POCO M4 will feature a triple-camera setup comprised of a 64MP OV64B40 sensor, an 8MP IMX355 sensor, and a 2MP OV2A lens. The display will likely be an LCD panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. And finally, on the software front, the POCO M4 will likely be booting into Android 11 out of the box, layered with MIUI 12.5 atop — a bummer considering Android 12 and even MIUI 13 is out now.

That said, now that news of the POCO M4 being under development is now out, we should be seeing more of the leaks and even official teasers dropping soon.

POCO had very recently in November 2021 launched the POCO M4 Pro. The device came with a camera module stretched across its width, making its rear-end look very similar to that of the POCO M3. It is thus possible that the vanilla POCO M4 will also be sporting a similar design since it has now become something of POCO’s fashion statement.
