Garmin is collaborating with Porsche to launch a new special edition smartwatch model. The new watch model is the Porsche x Garmin Epix 2 limited edition that comes with some exclusive watch faces and design.

The new special edition smartwatch model is essentially the same as the regular Epix 2 watch in the market. However, there are some key differences in this limited edition model. The new wearable comes with a design that is inspired by the famous sports car brand. Thus, we can see the iconic black, silver, and red color scheme along with a 22mm silicone strap and a clasp that bears the Porsche brand logo. This branding can even be seen on the start/stop button and the watch’s dial as well.

Furthermore, users can even customize the new limited edition smartwatch through a selection of various Porsche logos and designs that will be displayed on the Epix 2 watch’s face. Since the only difference is design and some software aspects, the gadget still sports a 1.3 inch AMOLED display that has a sapphire glass screen for protection. It is a touch enabled panel, but users can still control the wearable with the control buttons. As per official claims, the smartwatch can last for up to 16 days on a single full charge and comes with 10 ATM waterproofing.

Being a modern day smartwatch, it also offers heart rate tracking and SpO2 blood oxygen monitoring as well as support for more than 60 sports modes. Other features include, GPS navigation and journey tracking, Garmin Pay contactless payments, and music playback via Spotify and other platforms. The new Porsche x Garmin Epix 2 smartwatch limited edition is available in the US, UK, Canada, and the EU for a price tag of 1,250 US Dollars.

We already know that the series will consist of three devices — Huawei P20, P20 Pro, and P20 Lite. However, the latest report from China suggests that the company could add another variant as well — Huawei P20 Porsche Edition.

While there is no much information available about this Porsche Edition of the Huawei P20, the report indicates that the device will be pricey, exceeding the price point of 6,000 Yuan, which roughly converts to $949.

The major highlight of the Huawei P20 series will be its artificial intelligence system. The company will be using AI for the photography, which is said to provide better results than the recently launched Samsung’s Galaxy S9 series.

The Huawei P20 Pro will be the top-end model in the series and will come with three camera sensors on the back along with a dual-LED flash. Apart from the iPhone X-like notch on the display, the phone series is also expected to have 3D face recognition feature.

Earlier, the specifications of P20 Pro were leaked online, revealing that the triple camera configuration will pack 12MP + 16MP + 16MP shooters with OIS and f/1.8 aperture. At the front, the device packs a single 8MP camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

This Huawei P20 series is expected to be powered by the company’s latest HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor which comes with a built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU). According to the company, it brings 25 times performance improvement compared to the previous generation chip.

Along with P20, the company is also expected to launch its bigger variant — Huawei P20 Pro. It is expected to have two models — 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage with support for expandable storage up to 256GB.

The previous leak suggested that the Huawei P20 will carry a 3,320mAh battery while the P20 Pro will pack a 4,000mAh battery. All the models in this lineup are expected to be running Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with the company’s own EMUI 8.1 on top.

Huawei seems very confident about its upcoming flagship devices. Recently, Huawei CEO Richard Yu not only claimed that the upcoming P20 will be better than Apple‘s iPhone X but also stated that the company would leapfrog Apple in a year or two.

This is the next generation version of the Mate 8, coming with improved specs and high-end features to take on the likes of iPhone 7 Plus, Google Pixel XL, and even the Galaxy S7 Edge. And yes, there is a dual curved edge version, as expected, however, more on that later. First, let’s take a look at what the regular Mate 9 flagship offers.

Design wise, Huawei has retained the same polished metal body as the previous generation Mate 8, which is actually a pretty good decision. The metal body looks premium and it comes in multiple colors like Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown and Ceramic White making sure that you have plenty of options to choose from.

While looks may not have received a lot of upgrades, there are a lot of changes in the hardware department. The Mate 9 is powered by the recently released and much more powerful Huawei’s Kirin 960 chipset. To remind you, this chip has 4 x Cortex A73 cores @ 2.5GHz and 4 x Cortex A53 @1.8GHz. For storage, you get 64GB of expandable ROM and 4GB of RAM.

This year, the camera has been the real highlight of Huawei smartphones and the same goes with the Mate 9 as well. The flagship comes with a new 20MP + 12MP dual camera setup at the back, certified by Leica. This is similar to the setup on its other phones, with the 20MP being the monochrome sensor and the 12MP being the color sensor. Other features include laser autofocus, f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash and OIS. While there is no optical zoom as previously rumored, the phone features what Huawei calls Hybrid zoom.

The Huawei Mate 9 also retains the large 4000mAh battery as its predecessor and the company claims that its ‘SuperCharger’ can charge the phone to 58 percent in just half an hour. As for software, the phone comes with the new Android Nougat 7.0 with an overhauled EMUI version. The new UI seems to be cleaner and faster than before, which is definitely a good sign.

There are a few smart features as well, for example, Huawei claims that the Mate 9 will get faster with time, as opposed to current Android phones which often lags after a few months of usage. The software will observe the way you use the phone and in time, it will smartly allocate the processing power for your essential needs. The company said that the performance could improve as much as 8 percent in over 10,000 hours of simulated usage. That’s a pretty good claim, but we will have to see whether it’s the case in real life.

The Mate 9 seems like a really great phablet, coming with powerful internals, good camera, a large battery that lasts more than a day easily and the latest software. All this for a price tag of 699 Euros or $775.

There’s a Mate 9 Porsche Design Version as well, which is the most premium flagship ever made by Huawei, but it does come at a humongous price! More on that in the next article which is coming your way very soon.
